  4:02pm battleaxe:

Todd...these beats = GENIUS!
  4:04pm geokopp:

I'll never forget that Wanda Jackson show at Maxwell's. The way the band was hanging' out on the sidewalk in lawn chairs (Heath Haynes & the Hi-Dollars). And the way Wanda's husband paid them in cash, on stage, while they were still playing! Crazy night.
Avatar 4:08pm JakeGould:

geokopp, that sounds pretty cool. Also shows you how little the music business has changed.
Avatar 4:09pm glenn:

really, bad guy? i know a guy from deep ellum.
Avatar 4:10pm dk:

DAMN, that jd mcpherson track was fantastic.
Avatar 4:12pm BadGuyZero:

@ Glenn: I live in East Dallas. My company is based in Deep Ellum. I work from home mostly, but I'm down there fairly frequently. I wonder if I know your friend.
  4:12pm geokopp:

At least that night it was truly old school show biz Jake. Sure miss Maxwell's!
Avatar 4:13pm JakeGould:

geokopp, welp piles of cash at the end of the night are still a part of the music business.
Avatar 4:13pm glenn:

oh, i imagine a lot of people do. he used to be the drummer for speedtrucker.
  4:16pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

My fave SY!!
Avatar 4:18pm BadGuyZero:

@glenn: I used to go see Speedtrucker a lot. I didn't know any of the guys in the band though. They were a good band to drink to.

  4:21pm Dave B. (@BuckyKatt):

Hey BGZ-- thanks for tipping me off that Todd-O-Phonic was on the air. It's sounding good hear in snowy uptown Hoboken.

Also: is Deep Ellum anywhere near that famous Texas location, Deep Doodoo?
Avatar 4:23pm BadGuyZero:

@Dave B: The whole state is Deep Doodoo.

was also the anniversary of the assassination of Malcomb X.
They tried firebombing his house with jus kids inside .... didn't work so they sent shooters.

Those who are stereo-phanatical and/or Herm-o-philes might wanna take note of the upcoming BEAR FAMILY 2-disc set with 56 of the 66 songs included making their TRUE STEREO debuts!:
