That was a crazy second half. And the Puppy Bowl was pretty good, too.

You gotta love the guy who got the pick. Great story. And even thought I hate Tom Brady, he was the man in the second half. Unbelievable.

You don't waste time with a pass play. And when you're behind, don't waste time. I didn't even watch the game, but from highlights, I can still say that was dumb.

Yeah - it's the 30 for 30 movie Big Shot.

Red Ball should get new ownership that realizes the team is in NJ.

Hi/Bye Cecile :)

It would still not equal the all-time great catch made by one of the scab players in or about 1986 -- the one where he caught the ball on the opponent's back.

Hull City News on transfer deadline day:
@PJBuckingham
#hcafc have until midnight to conclude a deal for N'Doye if they've provided relevant paperwork to the PL.
  6:23pm
Robert:

No, ties are ties, no sense going out of your way & distorting the game to break one.
  6:24pm
Robert:

What's wrong with saying the opposing teams in a given game did equally well, and it was a draw? It'd be different if few games were won, but occasional ties don't bother me at all.
  6:24pm
JakeGould:

Soccer in America is a nice idea, but it’s like the metric system: It makes so much sense that nobody would touch it.
  6:25pm
JakeGould:

“What's wrong with saying the opposing teams in a given game did equally well, and it was a draw?” Nothing. but America in 2015 extremely aggro and hateful towards gray/neutrality. You win, you kill. You lose, you die. That is why I can’t stand sports nowadays.
  6:26pm
Ralphine:

Novak Djokovic got paid $3.1 million for winning the Australian Open. That'll buy a lot of donkey cheese.
  6:26pm
Robert:

That's not gray, it's a definite tie! No ambiguity about a tie.
  6:28pm
Robert:

The NFL screwed the pooch when they adopted regular season overtime, because ties help spread out the standings and PREVENT standings ties that need gimmicky breaking for playoff spots.
Avatar 6:28pm
Danne D:

Other fan bases have taken out billboards in protest of ownership. Hell, Bengals fans protested Mike Brown for years.

  6:29pm
Robert:

Not only that, but as the AFL found out, the 2-point conversion was used much more often to tie games than to untie them.
  6:30pm
JakeGould:

Robert, maybe my analogy was off but the aggressive tone in America nowadays results in there being no humility. There is little sportsmanship in pro sports nowadays.
Avatar 6:33pm
Danne D:

The problem with the NASL in the Cosmos days was it ultimately was a one-team league.
  6:34pm
Robert:

Sure, Jim, but a few years earlier, the NY Generals (playing in Yankee Stadium) were widely ignored.
Avatar 6:34pm
Danne D:

Most of the owners could not keep remote pace with the Cosmos spending. And fans in America don't like to go support a team that they feel never will have a chance.
Avatar 6:35pm
Danne D:

I 100% disagree with Jim on this.

The new Cosmos think this is the way to go. It just would destroy the league all over again.
  6:36pm
Robert:

Actually, Danne, I did go to a lot of Chi. Sting games during that time. If you couldn't keep up with the Cosmos, you could still compete for 2nd place.

Best soccer talk ever. Good interview
Avatar 6:39pm
Danne D:

@Robert I know that Vancouver and Tampa Bay were decent. But really expanding quickly to 24 teams - recipe for disaster.
Avatar 6:41pm
Carmichael:

When the Raiders traded Jon Gruden, I burned all my Oakland stuff and bought Tampa Bay gear. So the fans do have some ability to give the owner the finger.
  6:42pm
Robert:

Remember when the NHL expanded from 6 to 12 in 1 year?

@asb: What’s wrong with being a token? *irony*

time to drop the suffix -gate for every dumb scandal--lazy journalism
  6:45pm
JakeGould:

Suffixgate,
Avatar 6:46pm
Danne D:

@Robert - MLS expansion was much broader, faster, and much more poorly thought out. Only 1 of those 6 teams failed. 1 other one moved because of a bad owner. The other 4 are still where they are today, 3 have won the Stanley Cup.

Most distorted/drunk caller.
  6:49pm
JakeGould:

Danne, isn’t it amazing that Nixon is still a shorthand for corruption despite tons worse things happening since his impeachment?
  6:49pm
Robert:

I didn't watch the Super Bowl, but I'm an unusual case in that I'm spoiled and/or burned out by coaching. I just don't enjoy WATCHING football enough now to be worth my while to turn on the TV.
  6:49pm
JakeGould:

Caller should blow his nose.
Avatar 6:50pm
Carmichael:

What language is this guy speaking?
Avatar 6:50pm
Danne D:

@JakeGould - Nixon was never impeached. And he set the gold standard. So many future scandals were the legacy of folks with their roots in that administration.

Anyway how about that Nationwide Commercial?!?
Avatar 6:51pm

I loved the Brady Bunch commercial with Danny Trejo and Steve Buscemi.
