A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

was "snow" draggin on too long for ya? heheheh
  9:07am Mark:

OMG Trouble, you're hilarious and evil. I just see the name "Claudine Longet" and I start to chuckle. Remember when SNL did the "Claudine Longet Skiing Invitational," where they just took footage of skiers falling and dubbed in the sound of gunshots? You've gotten off on the wrong foot, young lady, and I love it!

Greetings and good morning Dj Trouble & Everyone !,, nice to be here listening live too,, & a Happy New Year Coming !

I got this as an OBA (Album inherited from Older Brother) 30 years ago. Sweet.
Avatar 9:13am FernandoBelmondo:

Hello and good morning Trouble and you all!
  9:13am Mark:

OBA. I like that. My OBAs are from when I played his albums so much I scratched them, then had to buy him a brand spankin' new one, then I had the scratchy one for my very own.
Avatar 9:14am FernandoBelmondo:

e boa tarde, @doca.
  9:16am Mark:

Your highly skilled DJ knows precisely when to drop the Barbara Lyon. I can see Barbara on a barstool in 1976, muttering about Doris Day having the career she should have had.
Avatar 9:17am Trouble:

good morning last tuesday in december kitties!
  9:19am Mark:

Kitties, not kiddies. I'm hip.
Avatar 9:19am PeterRarebit:

Thought this was Doris Day. Had to take a break.

I would play my brothers' LPs on my little red and white plastic fold-up player (couldn't figure out their NASA-like gargantuan component systems) and then lie about playing them, even though they were horribly disfigured with scratches after my usage (like they'd run through a thicket of brambles, chased by an assailant). My player was only made for 45's and my collection consisted of read-along books (I'm A Little Teapot) and floppy freebies ripped out of National geographic (Sounds of the Humpback Whale, for ex.).
Avatar 9:20am bobdoesthings:

super cool kitties, bro (does 'bro' ruin it for you?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am adrian in mpls:

this kitty is really happy to be here!
Avatar 9:25am doca:

@FernandoBelmondo: Boa tarde! I usually don't know if I say "good morning" or "good afternon" on the 9 o'clock time slot this time of the year.
Avatar 9:25am doca:

@Trouble: Who is today's artist?
  9:26am Mark:

Hadn't heard of Mary Lattimore til Jeffrey played her on "Shrunken Planet" Saturday. Really like the relaxing vibe. We needed it after Barbara Lyon got us all rockin'. Whew.
Avatar 9:29am bobdoesthings:

I thought this Mary Lattimore was Vetiver before looking at playlist
  9:30am Mark:

When I hear the birdies and the French guy I know Trouble is right around the corner.
Avatar 9:32am bobdoesthings:

oh oops I meant Kyle Tomzo sounded like vetiver.. oh well

@βrian - add a negative sign to that temp and that's where we're at - time for bundling up and snuggling!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47am adrian in mpls:

Also, Delta 5 - yes yes yes!
  9:48am Mark:

I'm currently visiting Michigan, where it's 13 degrees F. Can't wait to get back to balmy NJ tonight.
Avatar 9:49am βrian:

@adrian: I thought you meant a 5 degree wind chill ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am adrian in mpls:

@βrian - nope, that's the air temp. the wind chill is worse. but it's sunny. i'd rather it be sunny after the three weeks of eternal grey.

Don't worry, Trouble. The whole Path thing is just a bluff. But now the you've opened your big yap, "it looks like it's time for some traffic problems in front of Trouble's house."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16am adrian in mpls:

i picked up this tibetan bells record last month - it's pretty great!
Avatar 10:19am Sem Chumbo:

I'll never have that recipe again, so sad:-(
Avatar 10:19am βrian:

We were obliged to sing this in high school chorale. I don't miss high school.
Avatar 10:21am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@Brian, we had to sing the already out of date, "We've Only Just Begun" in junior high. Thank the LORD there is not a recording of that.
Avatar 10:22am βrian:

(The Bach, on the other hand, was a blast!)
  10:22am czechano:

one of my favorite songs, we tried to have my son's first birthday in the park this past Sept. and it rained us out as we set it up. I sang MacArthur Park over and over again. luckily we made mason jar cakes.
Avatar 10:22am Trouble:

lyrics for this song were considered "loopy" and "polarizing" when it was released in 1968
Avatar 10:23am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Gotta say, this is not bad for junior high.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23am listener james from westwood:

I have an unabashed and unironic love for the Richard Harris original and dig this cover, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am Santos L Halper:

Morning DJ Trouble. Great version here. Where/when are they from?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am MD:

unless the thing that is making it soggy is BOOZE!!!
Avatar 10:24am V Priceless:

Webb wrote it for The Association, but they passed on it, as none of the band members wanted to sacrifice their own tunes to make room for it!
  10:25am Adrian in London:

I'm late. Sorry but I've been watching cyclocross. I'm all ears now.
Avatar 10:25am Roberto:

That was glorious!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am listener james from westwood:

ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ: In junior high graduation we sang a medley of songs from "Fame." They were sort of faithful to the source.
Avatar 10:27am Roberto:

Dang, just looked up Lenore Tawney. She lived to be 100!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am Webhamster Henry:

I made a 1 minute version of MacArthur Park for Ken's 1 minute song contest a few years ago; it mixes together about 10 versions and you need a dramamine after hearing it.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am patrick321:

Hey Trouble just got to my computer. Christie veto and late night PATH closing is another tone-deaf response by maybe as you said to show they don't have to care at all about riders. But could also backfire and become a rallying point for NJ commuters who need PATH for work and are being robbed at the tunnels. Its shockingly counterproductive to JC renewal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am Webhamster Henry:

Yep that's it alrighty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am Webhamster Henry:

Moomins! this movie looks pretty authentic; based on a storyline in the Moomin comic strip.
Avatar 10:45am bobdoesthings:

@webmasterHenry - you weren't kidding about the dramamine..
Avatar 10:47am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Oh man, this song makes me wish I stuck with my piano lessons as a kid.
Love, love, love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47am Webhamster Henry:

This Moog record sounds like it was made for WFMU. Although a sitar might be a nice addition.
