Afternoon Liz!
Avatar 12:08pm pierre:

Bonjour Liz and lizeners !

So glad to hear the friendly BCBG on your show !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Liz Berg:

Howdy folks! Love the new BCBG single, Pierre!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm Scott Williams:

@Pierre, you did the cover for that BCBG 7", didn't you? Lovely stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm chris:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm fred:

@pierre: I love BCBG, but I'm not that fond of that release (maybe because I'm tired of being hammered for liking them)
Avatar 12:21pm Cecile:

hi all. My fumes are running on fumes.
Avatar 12:22pm Cecile:

A four-shot depth charge is barely doing it for me.
Avatar 12:24pm Cecile:

I finished my final paper which I think is an excellent college student paper according to the rubric, but would be hacked to bits if it ever hit print. Gah.

At this point in my life, I think papers are pointless - the assignment should be to write an article for someone who knows nothing about the subject or do a presentation or installation. Just my 2 cents.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm fred:

@Cecile: why are you writing a paper? I thought you didn't have to do that anymore. I'm genuinely puzzled
Avatar 12:33pm Cecile:

I am in an intro History of Graphic Design class at a US community college which is all-book. And the teacher is wily enough to have half the chapters taught by student presentation. My assigned group did a presentation, which we accompanied with an art installation because we were tired of reading and parroting the material back. We got a perfect score.

I think this class is also somehow expected to help people practice and refine their writing, but personally, I'd rather just read a bunch of books and write an article that my mom or dad would enjoy. I think it's both harder and more rewarding than a paper.
Avatar 12:33pm Cecile:

can you tell I'm running very little sleep?
Avatar 12:38pm Cecile:

this inutili is giving me a 2nd wind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm fred:

@Cecile: I'm even more puzzled as to how these clueless people should be in a position to give a degree to YOU, but as long as they do, I'll forgive their utter lack of clue
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Liz Berg:

Agreed that at a certain point, writing about something to a general audience and presenting in public are more useful skills to practice. Hope you can catch up on zzz's tonight, Cecile!
Avatar 12:39pm pierre:

@ Scott : Merci mon ami, actually I didn't do the front work, but only the back ! The front work has been made by the great (and friendly too) Julien Pacaud, great illustrator !

@Fred : I like this release, but I feel you. I mean I understand liking less stuff. It can, or maybe will grow more on you. Do you have it?
  12:39pm david from ks:

,, anda now Some One WHO IS ONE OF US " !!! Our own" THE World Famous, wonderful, and absolutely marvelous D.J. LIZ BERG ,,,,, YAY !
Avatar 12:40pm Cecile:

it's required for my certificate, which I want for a number of reasons.

I have only been seriously reading about graphic design for three years, (even though I've always loved it and somehow practiced it)and I could teach the class. It's not all about knowledge.
Avatar 12:41pm Cecile:

wow! He is a great illustrator!!!
Avatar 12:41pm Cheri Pi:

I'm whacked out of my mind here too with sleep/lack of caffeine issues. Liz you're bringing the world into focus after 4 hours of trying on my own.
Avatar 12:46pm Cecile:

pierre, just a quick question - does Pacaud do everything by hand, is it all by computer, or a mixture of both?
Avatar 12:46pm Mugsy:

Awesome start Miss Berg Hope you are well and hello to all on the board.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...okay - maybe the new WMtUesday isn't so bad ! (I listens to JoeB archive Mon. afterwerk.) Tasting the Tue. colours here...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm fred:

@pierre: I'm out of the loop these days, on purpose. I don't want to deal with the conflict. I don't have the BCBG record, and I don't want it, same goes for a record I've wanted for years. I bail out
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Liz Berg:

Rise, children of the radio, RISE!!!
Avatar 12:50pm pierre:

@Cecile : from what I know, he mostly work with the computer.

@fred : I understand
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...my 'hero' Julian Cope I believe dissed Stereolab as 'French Jazz' / watered-down version of it's' influences...Gee - I'm 'French' (-American), love Jazz, like all the Stereolabby things (?) I'm hearing around here lately...

cool, pierre! Thanks!

You got it, mah bayud!
  1:48pm r i s k y:

I suck, you rule.
  1:49pm Robert:

I really did feel that vibe from your Mon. morn program. I gather from your remark now and recent listening that that wasn't necessarily your preference, but chosen thoughtfully for the time slot. In that case, retroactive thanks.

I thought it was perfect that you woke us up on Mon. mornings & that Irene Trudel then mellowed us out in the afternoon. Her stuff is fine for nights too, though.
Avatar 1:50pm Cecile:

YEAH. Real X.
Avatar 1:51pm Cecile:

RIP Ian and Steve.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Polyus:

Drums on this Exhaustion track are super cool.

This crackly instrumental "Boots" is the shizzy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Mike East:

great show today, Liz...I'm starting to get used to the new time slot.
Avatar 2:06pm Cecile:

X-aspirations is a great record. These seem to be nice blueprints.
Avatar 2:09pm Cecile:

I can only think they were bummed about Lobby Loyde producing the first album, but the Coloured Balls were hardly pablum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Liz Berg:

I'm glad they remembered to throw spiderman a bone at the end there.
Avatar 2:15pm Cecile:

I probably have some of those era fanzines collected in a book somewhere.
