New intro?? And more importantly... Mexico???
Don't play me like that..
Great show! I'm diggin' this on this bright, sunny day in Dallas!
And the Velvet Fog! Sorry I missed the new intro. Are you going to do a Pow Pow Pow spot for the beginning of Todd's show?
Phantom! Isn't this the song in which the car bomb explodes?
tonky honk man:
Tommy Collins THE country genius. So many great records. If u can't bite don't growl, break my mind, u better not do that, etc
Congrtulate me...I scored my Costello, solo acoustic tickets...to the sound of Mr. Shelley's program.
Russ Ballard was in Unit + 2. they were best known for the awesome Concrete & Clay.
Way to go, Uncle M. Think of your FMU pals when he does "God's Comic".
I'll be missing my own show to see his.
JBR director says he's standing by, waiting on your call. He got things mixed up and thought he was calling you.
"Swinging" is an old favorite of ours. We used to sing it to our kid when she was a tot. Dave Van Ronk called it "perfect", and rightly so.
The "+2" in Unit 4 + 2 were Russ Ballard and Bob Henrit, who later played together in Argent. Henrit later replaced Mick Avory in The Kinks.
Sounds like all they did was change the lyrics.
Thinking I'll track this film down sooner than later.
Send it to Cinema Center, Fort Wayne! [Shameless plug for others]
One of the most memorable TV scenes of recent times is in the first season of "Six Feet Under" when the funeral home proprietor/father sneaks off to his secret apartment hideaway to smoke weed and groove to the Seeds 'Pushing Too Hard' rocking loud on his stereo. Thanks Michael!
"He was a lightening bolt."
First heard this JD McPherson track on Marc Maron's show on IFC. Thought it was some obscure oldie; amazed to learn it was from 2010! Is the rest of the album this good?
That song is a #1 hit - so the rest of the lp is not as good, but it's good!
Hydrophobic possums...the scariest creatures in the bible.
I might have missed something. Did Michael say why the Christmas doc interview didn't happen?
Has Seeds film producer Alec Palao ever been on your show? I'd think he'd be a good interview. He compiled the Zombies and Sly Stone box sets...
Eminem said he's going to slap Linda Rondstat with a lobster!
What played after the Trashmen? A song about a governor? Seems to be missing from the playlist.
Yeah, the governor's song was strange (but no doubt deserved): wondered if it was about Reagan, or one of the Southern govs. from the '60s.
I looked it up on SoundHound, but it could only find a remix by a band called Sterneis. All they did was throw a beat over it.
Sincere apologies for the MIX-UP (on my part)...Santa WILL be punishing me this Xmas now for sure ! Grateful for the fine PLUGS of my movie, Jingle Bell Rocks. And also, for playin' NAt's sombre lil' ditty amongst all these other GRT tunes !
BTW, anyone wishin to see the TRAILER for Jingle Bell Rocks!
It's here: http://youtu.be/nBL6SQuaA8E
