As much as I dig Richard Meltzer he kinda stepped all over Smega every time I saw them, nice to hear them Spoken Word free.

Jeff Conklin:

That Farm Band is so cringe-y at first but once they crack it open....
Avatar 3:45am
Mugsy:

Fungal Abyss; Bardo Abgrund Temple from 2013 is their only record on spotify, definitely going to give that a spin. This is a fine selection, keep on rockin'!

Jeff Conklin:

This band is totally new to me, Mugsy. My friend put this tape out and its KILLER. Will have to look into that one.

Makes sense, Mugsy, Eiderdown is Seattle-based.

Seat map looks like a mini BB Kings. I have another few minutes to kill till my wife wakes up. I will be listening, have a good week.
Avatar 3:57am
Jeff Conklin:

Thanks, Mugsy, you too.

Great soundtrack to "Season of The Witch: How The Occult Saved R&R" which so far is a pretty good read.

Mark:

"A bottle of pop"! Dude, are you from Michigan?!
Avatar 4:11am
Jeff Conklin:

HAHAHA. I'm not, Mark. Somehow it just felt like the right thing to say.
Avatar 4:11am
Larst:

Mark, "Pop" is the nomenclature for soda out here in Oregon as well. Took me many years to get used to.
Avatar 4:14am
Jeff Conklin:

I almost said the brand name of the SODA but didn't want to advertise for them. Not really a soda/pop drinker. I'm a seltzer guy but ill take the caffeine where I can get it out here in the hinterlands.

Mark Dwinell:

Sounding good man
Avatar 4:17am
Jeff Conklin:

Maaaaaark (Dwinell), whats up, man?? You in China?
  4:18am
Mark:

Does it start with a "C"? I know that stuff is poison, but man, sometimes it just hits the spot. I grew up in Michigan, just moved to the East Coast a couple of years ago, and I'm still learning to say "soda." Loving the show so far, Jeff!
  4:18am
Mark Dwinell:

Ha I wish! Going back in February
  4:19am
Mark Dwinell:

Is this Ondness now?
Avatar 4:21am
Jeff Conklin:

Thanks, Mark. Yes, Mark (Dwinell), it is

What a ear-full this show has been so far!
Offered in the most complimentary way.
Oh, it is *pop* here in Nova Scotia, *soda* is a sign that you are * from away*

Shep:

Checking in from Northern France. Here, we say neither pop nor soda. Just "un coca." But, hell, I'm from out in Utah where we say pop.

Thanks, Jeff, for the gentle-but-stimulating soundtrack to this rather bleak Monday morning in Canterbury. Perfect.
