Avatar 1:40pm PKNY:

There's actually a book about Sabbath that has a flyer of that Union Catholic show as the main thing on the cover:

Avatar 1:40pm Cecile:

when I was in Oz, Barry McGuire played our high school.
  1:40pm lloyd michigan:

I should have grown up in S.P., NJ.
  1:41pm Blip:

Hey, what did Ozzy say? Tell us here!
  1:41pm Mugsy:

Great flyer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm coe:

Feb 18 1971 Sabbath plays Union Catolic
Avatar 1:41pm PKNY:

I'd love to hear more about that Sabbath show. I live a couple miles from Union Catholic, and went to a Catholic high school in NY, the vision of Sabbath playing at one in 1971 is just mindblowing.
Avatar 1:42pm dale:

julee cruise read sales copy for a bell atlantic commercial i worked on. i wanted ellen foley who also read for it. was surprised that they were doing that stuff but it was a lot of money for half a days work.
  1:44pm lloyd michigan:

It may take hundreds of auditions to get a half day's work. Unless you're a huge star.
Avatar 1:44pm PKNY:

Sounds like there were plently of rock shows at Union Catholic, I wonder if the yearkbook crew ever went and took pics. If so, you'd probably have a book right there.

And the MC5 played in Westfield? That's crazy too!
  1:45pm lloyd michigan:

Barbara Eden visited my high school.
Avatar 1:49pm Jim:

Paul Collins free show in NYC tonight...
Avatar 1:51pm dale:

lloyd wins!
  1:52pm lloyd michigan:

  1:54pm Mugsy:

  1:55pm Mugsy:

Avatar 1:55pm V Priceless:

  1:57pm lloyd michigan:

So, he was in a band when he was 6 or 7?
  1:59pm FRED:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Stevel:

One of my favorite bass lines, possibly because I can (briefly) play it.
Avatar 2:13pm V Priceless:

Del Shannon sings on "World We Know" - great track.
Avatar 2:17pm PKNY:

Looks like someone wrote a book about when the Who played Union Catholic:

Here's a news article that states that UC were in the rock show business for about 5 years, because the Who show was so successful:

Avatar 2:20pm V Priceless:

Woo! Stranglers!
  2:22pm lloyd michigan:

Let's hear "Peaches."
