Classic Portishead!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm mariano:

Had the good fortune of seeing Portishead back in '95, great show. It was at a venue where everyone sat at cocktail tables with little lamps, perfect setting.
Avatar 12:10pm Cecile:

never heard this, this is excellent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Irene Trudel:

Hi everybody! I'm exhilarated (and slightly exhausted) after participating in yesterday's People's Climate March. Hopefully the musical climate will approach the good vibes I experienced.
Avatar 🥁 12:15pm βrian:

Hey, I *thought* those were Bread and Puppet creatures in those photos!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Irene Trudel:

Possibly, βrian.

You're quite welcome, Van!
Avatar 12:44pm Cecile:

I'm so glad for you. I heard all her albums hit the UK charts again.
Avatar 12:44pm Van in DC:

Yes, 8 albums in the top 50 is it? Something like that
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Kate, fab as always, thank you Irene.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Sean in Bristol UK:

@Van, yes, all her albums were in the charts, I think Whole Story went to number one

Just amazing about that
Avatar 12:47pm Van in DC:

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Sean in Bristol UK:

@Van, did you get to see the BBC documentary?

Not yet Sean. I need to hunt that down... probably on YouTube I would imagine
Avatar 12:52pm Cecile:

How long did she play? I would imagine hours and hours
Avatar 12:54pm Van in DC:

It was a good three hours total, with a 20 minute intermission
Avatar 12:56pm Cecile:

@Irene, Jinx
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Of course folks, but can someone type me through the procedure?
Avatar 1:01pm Cecile:

Just cut and paste. The board automatically shortens it.
Avatar 1:01pm Van in DC:

I think I found it already

Avatar 1:02pm Van in DC:

Mind blown. Many thanks Irene
Avatar 1:05pm Van in DC:

Tonight I think is the Autumnal Equinox. Time to Slip into fall...
Avatar 1:08pm Van in DC:

Two shows last week had cameras filming the KaTe concert.

Avatar 1:12pm Cecile:

hey, today is Nick Cave's birthday.
Avatar 🥁 1:14pm βrian:

Born on the equinox? With one foot in the light, one in the dark?
Avatar 1:16pm slugluv1313:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK CAVE!!!!!!!! thank you for always being an inspiration for so many of us . . . .
Avatar 🥁 1:19pm βrian:

"Racing like a pronoun?"

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:30pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello Irene & All. Very hard to leave this wonderful show to do the things I have to do!.. Nice to exit with Mr. Walker!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Irene Trudel:

@Mike, I'm going tomorrow evening. I have heard a co-worker/Nick Cave fan approves and say he quite liked it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm Mike East:

cool, Irene...I'll check back in with you next week
Avatar 1:39pm Van in DC:

Marissa Nadler was playing in Geneva when I was in the UK. I tried to arrange to get there to see her but couldn't make it work
  1:40pm JJ Cale:

Holes in your knowledge, hah ha.
Avatar 1:40pm nanantatee:

Hi Irene, great photo and shirt addendum!
Avatar 1:42pm nanantatee:

Here's another music doc to look out for: www.theguardian.com...
Avatar 1:46pm Cecile:

aw, jeez, a stroke? That's tough.
Avatar 1:49pm nanantatee:

That happened about 10 years ago and he's made a significant recovery since then, and now tours and records again
  1:49pm i k e h in Amsterdam:

Android app sounds good this evening in the Netherlands. Possibly going in search of some Surinamese dinner soon.
Avatar 1:49pm nanantatee:

Watch the trailer, it's mesmerizing. Edwyn Collins did the music for the film as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Irene Trudel:

Wow, I didn't know Edwyn Collins had a stroke. I'd definitely be interested in seeing this. Orange Juice was a lot of fun, back in the day.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Webhamster Henry:

Cuneiform day at the Irene Show! I think I got a $0.23 royalty from them once.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Irene Trudel:

Nice Henry! By the way, Happy Birthday a bit late.
  1:52pm βrian:

Cuneiform is might hard on the needle, though.
  2:01pm emmagineering:

really enjoying the set today... helping me get through a lousy monday!
Avatar 2:29pm Van in DC:

Have always loved Peter. Good stuff
  2:31pm Santos L Halper:

More Lamb, please, thanks! : )
Was it you that played carpet crawlers just recently?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Irene Trudel:

Yes, Santos 'twas I. Here's a whole bunch of The Lamb for you!
  2:33pm Neil:

Hi Irene, did you just mention a Genesis cover band? Was it the Musical Box, by any chance?
Swag For Life Member 2:34pm 12539:

I believe this is the only record in the history of music which received "Enossification." I wish I were Enossified.
  2:36pm Cee Dubbles:

So bummed I missed the Rock Shop show Friday night. Ironed instead but played this & Selling England
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Irene Trudel:

Neil, the album was staged by co-worker/friends of mine. They were led by Jay Cowit, who drums for Wounded Buffalo Theory www.woundedbuffalotheory.com... Rob Christiansen, who was a member of Grenadine and Eggs robchristiansen.com Great fun overall!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Irene Trudel:

Cee, I know they all filmed it. I'll bet they'll try to stage it again at another venue.
  2:42pm Santos L Halper:

12359: just listen to it a few times in a row, you'll be suitably Enossified.

Those who dig it, the deluxe version is worth checking out. You can watch the original slide show and the surviving video from the 74 tour along with a live recording.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Irene Trudel:

Wow, Santos, I didn't know that existed. I have a CD reissue of The Lamb but it certainly doesn't include that. And, of course, it's lost somewhere amid the stacks of unfiled CDs in my apartment. Thank goodness I still have my crackly vinyl.
Avatar 2:56pm Van in DC:

What a great closing set! Thanks for the show today Irene. Sure was special for me. Have a good few weeks away
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Irene Trudel:

Thanks Van, and thanks to all who tuned in! Catch you in a few weeks!
Swag For Life Member 2:57pm 12539:

Thank you, Irene.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Irene, that was just wonderful, wow, thank you so much
  3:00pm Santos L Halper:

It was part of the 2nd wave of remasters, that had a DVD too. Lots of great video on the other good era stuff too.
  3:00pm Neil:
