Avatar 7:29pm
doca:

how long is the trip from providence to boston? I'm always assuming because things are in other states they are far away, but that isn't true for New England.
btw, loving those japanese tracks
Avatar 7:31pm
Jesse K:

I missed the Geeshie Wiley. Just read about her in Amanda Petrusich's book on 78s. It's SO good.
Avatar 8:30pm
northguineahills:

This Aeternam Vale sounds like Porter Ricks circa 1997.
Avatar 8:47pm
Jesse K:

wow, pardon the hot plug there folks, technical difficulties on the crossfade..*embarrassed dj*
Avatar 8:48pm
Jesse K:

though this is a pretty rare and cool LP, apparently this gentleman used to slightly detune/retune his pianos so they would match the scale he needed
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm
Gary:

My GF asked where the music is from. She thinks it sounds Southeast Asian. I told her Iran and she was surprised.
Avatar 8:54pm
Jesse K:

it does have a kinship with Burmese piano styles, imo

@Jesse: from what movie is this gif?
Avatar 9:08pm

Ishiro Honda's 1975 "Terror of Mechagodzilla!" It's the control room of the Simians ship
Avatar 9:11pm
doca:

Thanks! I love Godzilla, but I haven't seen much of the 70s stuff.
Avatar 9:12pm
doca:

Have you seen that the next american Godzilla movie will feature Mothra? I'm looking forward to it
Avatar 9:17pm
Jesse K:

oh no, I actually missed the last godzilla movie, though it wasn't due to lack of enthusiasm. I hope they're planning to include the twins!
Avatar 9:19pm
doca:

Yeah I hope too. It just isn't Mothra without the backstory. It seems that King Ghidorah will show up too. I'm glad they won't be just inventing new monsters, because...well, Godzilla doesn't need new enemies
