To turn in a more controversial direction, Television is now the opener for Arcade Fire at the bizarre monstrosity called Barclays Center in Bklyn in a few days. Whaaa? (Commence yr potshots at the fucking righteous Arcade Fire now, if you must, but this clearly shows excellent taste on their part at the very least, no?)

CAKE!!!! CAAAAAAAAKE!

Hey I know this song. I just Shazamed it.

Until now I'd thought "Cake" to have been a mere invention of Kenny G.'s.

No clue @Cecile. I'm not as well-versed on current state of Television as on the current state of television. But Dan Deacon will be there too! Holy crap! Aw, dang, that's the same night as our delightful Rev. Turnip Druid with Pas Musique at Prospect Range in Bklyn. I'll go see the Reverend instead.

I stand corrected: Manilla is not a stronger paper. It's a cheaper paper (According to Wikipeedia) it's generally used for child art and in some fashion schools to create finalized clothing patterns. Or playlists.

This isn’t apropos of anything, but WFMU listeners are advised that if you haven’t seen the Scott Walker doc “30 Century Man”, you should. I can’t shake the image of someone’s English grandmother being whisked away to Mars in 1973 and then coming back in 2013 and seeing the new Scott Walker CD in a store and going “It’s our Scott! Oh, I loved his movie songs album! I wonder what the dear boy’s been up to,” and listening to “Epizootics” as her head explodes.

Carmichael:

@Bayta, every DJ makes a special CD to give away to anyone who pledges $ to FMU during the marathon. Most are great, some are sensational.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm

@Bayta, it's CDs put together by DJs here as goodies for listeners who pledge to our various radio shows during fundraising time. a true trove of delights

Ah nice. I was going to pledge during the next marathon anyway, but now I have even more of an incentive to do so.
