good morning, got anything for a hangover?
Avatar 11:03am fred:

@bobdoesthings: Guinness. No matter the ailment, it's the cure
Avatar 11:04am bobdoesthings:

here I am rolling up something instead... hmm I'm gonna stick with my plan for now.
Avatar 11:05am Michael Shelley:

water, aspirin, loud music
  11:07am Martin:

You need a Full English Breakfast..
Avatar 11:08am bobdoesthings:

@martin.. bacon, that's a great idea.

Avatar 11:08am Michael Shelley:

maybe some Irn-Bru
Avatar 11:09am Michael Shelley:

Avatar 11:10am Michael Shelley:

Baby - as a professional can you tell us what the cure for a hangover is?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Baby:

Got one myself. Fresh Grapefuit, and V8 Juice.
Avatar 11:13am bobdoesthings:

yuck and double yuck.
  11:19am Coder:

Just to be clear, do we mix the grapefruit juice and V8, or drink separately?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am Baby:

Baby. The Maharishi called. He wants to talk to you.
  11:20am Coder:

Oh, I see, the actual grapefruit, not grapefruit juice.
  11:21am Martin:

Chicory Tip's "Son Of My Father" was huge in the UK in the early 70s. I've never heard anything else by them before and thought they were one hit wonders.
Avatar 11:21am Michael Shelley:

worst hangover of my life was in Spain - ginger ale was helpful
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am Baby:

No no. I thought was a bit vague. Fresh, whole GF and a glass of V8
  11:23am Marmalade Kitty:

Is anybody else curious (or worry) when regular listener/commenters seem to disappear?
For example, where is listener Annie? regards if you are out there :)
Avatar 11:25am bobdoesthings:

@marmalade kitty - I, quite frankly, am relieved. It's frightening how some commenters seem to never leave. I like to take a deep breath of relief and smile and think of them out there.. in the real big world.. just doing their own thing in their own time...
  11:26am Marmalade Kitty:

bob; Of course!
  11:27am SeanG:

Hey Marmalade Kitty---Annie just recently popped up on Trouble's playlist
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am drr:

This NRBQ kinda sounds like...Michael Shelley.
  11:36am Marmalade Kitty:

I have seen the "fannies" on many occasions.. great live band that keeps on gowing and growing

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Uncle Michael:

I'm still looking forward to the worst hangover of my life.
Avatar 11:55am bobdoesthings:

@uncle - that's a good way to look at it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am CockTails42:

is this the DC-based Iron Cross?
Avatar 12:02pm Michael Shelley:

not sure?!
Avatar 12:03pm Michael Shelley:

I think they're from the UK
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Parq:

Kitty, I'm in touch with Annie. She doesn't listen much -- I don't know whether that's by choice or necessity. The bottom kind of fell out of her life in the northeast a few years ago, and now she lives in Ashville NC. She is doing okay and seems content.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Uncle Michael:

I like this Amy Rigby bunches,
  12:19pm mike E. Flood:

Worked in a pizza joint that played a best of Louie Prima. 12 hour shifts 6 days a week. We all had Stockholm syndrome at first we hated it then you start singing along....
  12:20pm Marmalade Kitty:

Thanks, Parq
  12:32pm Kelly Jones:

I love this Matthew Sweet record, not a bad cut on it!
Avatar 12:34pm Michael Shelley:

AGREE - what an album!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm Gaylord Fields:

I've seen both of Prima's movies — Twist All Night and Hey Boy! Hey Girl! And I'm surprised as what an incredibly stiff actor Prima is, especially considering how alive and charismatic he is onstage and on recordings. Even Keely doing her "wooden Indian" schtick comes off more animated. Sam acquits himself well, as always!
  12:38pm Martin:

Re: Matthew Sweet - Getting Quine, Lloyd and Julian to do the guitars on the album was genius.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Uncle Michael:

I saw Sweet play live with those guys a few times and what struck me is that he really tried hard not to be a power-popper. He wanted to be this rocker and live, it tended to bury those melodic songs.
Avatar 12:44pm Michael Shelley:

but it worked live, I thought
Avatar 12:48pm JakeGould:

Hey folks!
Avatar 12:48pm James in ATL:

Nice show Michael. Thanks!
Avatar 12:49pm Michael Shelley:

James - it is truly my pleasure
Avatar 12:50pm James in ATL:

Really looking forward to Muff's Whoop Dee Doo release on July 29.
Avatar 12:51pm party sub:

Love this song
  12:58pm Reid:

Really enjoying the show today!
  1:01pm Tommy:

TOO FUNNY !! and Great show
  6:29pm Joe R.:

Agreed on the Michael Shelley-ness of that NRBQ song. My wife completely unprompted asked if it was a Michael Shelley song (meaning performed and/or written) when it was on the show a couple of weeks ago!
