plot twist.. every DJ has been pre-recorded for months.. all comments are programmed auto-bots using complicated algorithms to leave comments relative to content
Avatar 12:10pm northguineahills:

When Gibby Haynes was on the Daily Show the other night, he had GWAR in huge letters written on his arm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm common:

yay, gibby!
Avatar 12:11pm Whooda:

GWAR what's it good GFOR?
Avatar 12:11pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Quite a trip, that Gibby moment.
Avatar 12:13pm Diane Kamikaze:

Good afternoon, all. I am live, although it's possible that my evil twin is doing today's show...like most of the time! Thanks for tuning in!!
Avatar 12:13pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 12:13pm bobdoesthings:

@whooda... just spent way too long trying to pronounce "gfor"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm JasonfromJersey:

Thanks for this. Sad face.
Avatar 12:14pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 12:20pm northguineahills:

Glad I have no neighbors home right now. Got this turned up (not quite to 11)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm JasonfromJersey:

northguineahills has the right idea. At work and "not quite up to 11." But totally worth getting fired.
Avatar 12:23pm V Priceless:

anyone in the UK seen the Moped film doc?
Avatar 12:23pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Working from home today. So we're up to about 12.3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm MD:

This song rocks!! I'm a Victim of The Victims!!!!
  12:28pm Dave in Chicago:

Brockie had lots of bands I used to see in Richmond; Death Piggy, DBE, Ex-Cops and of course GWAR. In the mid 80's while in school I was going to shows at places from a bowling alley in Enfield CT, to the actual Rock Hotel on Jane st. in NY. But I moved to Richmond, and once got to work crew with Gwar so I could travel to DC with them and see a new-at-the-time band, Prong, who they were playing with. Thanks for the tribute Diane, he was a special guy and he made a big impact on the world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Andrew Waterloo:

That Annihilator vocalist must really like James Hetfield.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm mariano:

@Dave: what rock hotel on Jane St? The one right at West Side Highway?
Avatar 12:35pm V Priceless:

DK kicking Spring's butt for selling us a bill of goods! Ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm CockTails42:

the companion word to brethren is indeed "sestren"
  12:41pm Dave in Chicago:

Yeah, THAT Rock Hotel. In around 88 I was SO Prong crazy I finally moved to NYC to bother Tommy and Ted in person (hahahah). And RH/Goldenvoice just became the promotional name and not that club inside a hotel deal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm mariano:

@Dave: Wow, had no idea the place had that history! I moved here to NYC in '98 and it was the first place I stayed, and it was a glorified homeless shelter, $105/week! It also had a theater, and it's where the original Hedwig and the Angry Inch was playing. Now it's a real boutique hotel, $200-300 a night, unbelievable. Had no idea it had been a club, all I knew is that it's where some of the Titanic survivors were housed for a while.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm Stevel:

Kevlertak is always a good choice.
  12:51pm Golde:

  12:52pm Dave in Chicago:

Hahaha, yeah I stayed and used it as a hotel too, in that era but it was communal bathrooms! But I also saw SNFU and Youth Brigade there in the 85, 86 era, 3 weeks ago when I came to NY I got to see it AND CB's as they are today-crazy
Avatar 12:55pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

whoa, godstar . .. there's a pleasant flashback.
Avatar 12:55pm Cheri Pi:

wow haven't heard this in ages~!
Avatar 12:56pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm common:

Avatar 12:59pm Droll:

Wow -- long forgotten MBM! Thanks!
Avatar 12:59pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

So Allegory & Self got re-issued?
Hotdamn. Six million faded memories & outlandish stories go along with that LP...
Avatar 1:01pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm mariano:

@Dave: wow, I'm jealous! Wish I'd been there a decade earlier. I do remember those communal bathrooms, and the reek of Pine Sol and cheap weed.
Avatar 1:02pm Cheri Pi:

Allegory & Self = our Highschool "factory" days
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Stevel:

I love you Diane. There. I said it!

Avatar 1:03pm V Priceless:

...and your evil twin, too!
Avatar 1:03pm Cheri Pi:

this is a great soundtrack to be doing all my invoicing to btw...swinging this date stamp around like a viking's mace.
Avatar 1:03pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@cheri: …& following PTV around the east-coast tours like a goddamned deadhead. Strange days.
Avatar 1:04pm V Priceless:

money-collecting music! woo-hoo!
Avatar 1:07pm Cheri Pi:

my friend travelled with them too on the west coast when she was 16, she was sorta inducted into the PTV "family"

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm tim from champaign:

Weather Report? They're too jazz brunch for me. I'm more into Deodato.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm coe:

Thank you for the Dave Brockie tribute. That was a loss that put kind of a damper on me and some of my friends.
Avatar 1:24pm InBrkly:

Awe missed GWAR tribute because of a doctor appointment.
Avatar 1:25pm InBrkly:

DRI on Cleopatra? Is that a reissue?
Avatar 1:25pm Diane Kamikaze:

The greatest hits DRI record is on Cleopatra
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm coe:

@Tim you wouldn't think it but both bands have gone through some pretty noticiable changes over the years so it's kind of hard to give a good point of entry. Honestly for GWAR I would almost say go with a DVD before you go with an album as you may listen to them and have no interest but once mix in their visuals you may get a kick out of what they do.
Avatar 1:31pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

what coe said. Ages ago I had the VHS of gwar videos for that Scumdogs record and it was a real treat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm coe:

Some of GWAR's Long Form stuff.
