Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11am Julie:

Avatar 3:20am Lou Z:

My absolute favorite Saint Etienne record. Great stuff Julie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21am Julie:

cool! Thanks Lou!
  3:34am P-90:

Tracks seem picked a bit more carefully tonight, even than usual, a lot of DJs seemed to come roaring out of the Marathon kinda "charged-up" rather than "burned-out"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36am Julie:

Hmm, not sure if that's true but if it's a compliment I'll take it. It rained all day, I think it influenced my picks.
  3:56am P-90:

"I Ran", another great re-do of an 80's classic, like that excellent "Love My Way" we heard last week
  4:16am Sean in Bristol, UK:

Hey Julie, great sounds
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17am Julie:

thanks Sean, good morning!

  4:27am Meghan:

... and Danielle Dax "Pop Eyes" is brilliant!
Anyone owns the original jacket? Never seen it.
  5:41am Rob in Maryland:

Glad to be up early enough to catch your show, Julie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42am Julie:

morning Rob!
  5:42am P-90:

Guten TZAG Guido und fred von barhopping, und congratulations again Julie on hitting that goal, and hitting "Barracuda" despite widely reported monitor issues onstage at H&MS
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44am Guido (Cologne):

Most heavenly voice (along with some heavenly guitar skills) from UK IMHO is "Lianne La Havas". She toured the US recently. Actually she's best solo. Sometimes I'm anoyed about the band, just because she's perfect as solo-performer.

Hi P-90
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am Julie:

I will have to check her out Guido, thanks
  5:48am Rob in Maryland:

We loved the Kate Bush and the Numan is a nice followup.
Avatar 5:50am fred von helsing:

Avatar 5:54am beavoux:

Petra Haden did her own acapella version of The Who Sell Out. Great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54am Meghan:

Winter is Coming JakeGould......
Avatar 5:54am Dave B:

Morning Julie and crew. Was my gentle nudge what lead you to spin Esben?
  5:54am P-90:

I'll believe spring when it has been 60 and sunny for three straight days. A low bar I know but it's been a brutal winter.

Avatar 9:54am Van in DC:
