Avatar 11:54am glenn:

Avatar 11:54am JakeGould:

You know, I never got Suzi Quatro outside of the fact she was Leather Tuscadero.
  11:54am Julia:

I'll always think of her as Leather Tuscadero.
Avatar 11:55am glenn:

oh, she's awesome.
Avatar 11:56am JakeGould:

I don’t get how she’s awesome.
Avatar 11:57am Whooda:

This is how Jake:
  11:58am Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

If you hear "What a Way To Die," her awesomeness becomes apparent.
Avatar 11:58am glenn:

she just is, jake. she just is.
Avatar 11:58am JakeGould:

I think she’s a cool person. And that bikini is cool. But her music. I don’t. Okay, something positive.
Avatar 11:59am glenn:

or devil gate drive, my fave suzi track.
Avatar 12:00pm Whooda:

@Jake I never got her either to be honest, but she was ahead of my time.
Avatar 12:02pm JakeGould:

Thanks WD-40/Duct Tape. No idea who Whooda is but youis WD-40/Duct Tape to me.
Avatar 12:03pm glenn:

out of curiosity, jake; who do you think is awesome that nobody else seems to get?
Avatar 12:04pm JakeGould:

Glenn, I like lots of stuff you might not like. Stop taking it personally. But I just think the Leather Tuscadero thing is what really makes people care about Suzi Quatro.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Gaylord Fields:

@glenn: Reptilicus FTW!
Avatar 12:08pm glenn:

i'm not taking it personally, really i'm not. i'm genuinely curious.
Avatar 12:09pm JakeGould:

Look at my favorite list & mock me then. Past that what do you want me to do, shuffle my iPod & feed you band names?
Avatar 12:10pm glenn:

Avatar 12:10pm glenn:

Avatar 12:11pm JakeGould:

Mazel Tov, Glenn!
Avatar 12:12pm Whooda:

Until just now I never bothered to study Suzi Quatro. This an interesting interview with the artist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm pacific standard simon:

Never saw any of those episodes with Quatro, myself. Just thought it was cool at the time that a GURL could rock hard and wear all those tough rags. I mean, I had a sheltered youth, but it WAS, what, '73-'74.
  12:14pm Julia:

Well, Jake, that's not true for me. I also really dig Joan Jett.
  12:15pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

Doug is busy, working on the application for Todd-O-Phonic Todd's scholarship to the Connecticut School of Broadcast!
Avatar 12:16pm JakeGould:

Seems like Suzi Quatro really has issues with Suzi Quatro, “But looking back, I missed a huge chunk of normal teenage development. By leaving home and touring at such a young age my childhood was cut short.”
Avatar 12:17pm Whooda:

We all have issues with ourselves. SQ had the balls to go out and change the world anyway.
  12:21pm marc:

Ralph Kiner and The Scooter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Gaylord Fields:

Todd, that record is by the same Jelly Beans (Jersey City's own) who were on Red Bird.
Avatar 12:22pm glenn:

except it was will rogers that said that.
Avatar 12:24pm glenn:

huh? you already did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Gaylord Fields:

@glenn: Will Rogers hated Fran Healy, too? Yeah, I can see it. Healy was the worst.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm pacific standard simon:

This slays me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm pacific standard simon:

I'm dead. Thanks a LOT, Todd!
Avatar 12:38pm glenn:

uhhhhh. no, it was will rogers that said i never met a man i didn't like, not mark twain. "mark twain, did say "deny the allegations, and defy the alligators", and for that he'll always have a place in my heart.
i don't even remember fran healy, but then i'm young.
  12:38pm Christina Ginger:

I'm much cooler than the girl in that song.
Avatar 12:39pm glenn:

oooh. i wish i'd edited that crappy sentence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Gaylord Fields:

@glenn: Thanks for setting me straight. I don't know where I got the idea that Will Rogers watched Mets broadcasts on cable in the 1990s.
Avatar 12:43pm glenn:

sorry. my pedantry gets the bestt of me sometimes. will was probably a st. louis browns fan.
Avatar 12:46pm Whooda:

As a fellow Oklahoman, I can vouch that Will Rogers made that quote, he is also suspected of making the quote, "Oh shit! we're going to crash!"
Avatar 12:53pm Whooda:

Yeah for Mink Deville!!
Avatar 12:54pm Victrola Tom:

So this is where the party is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm pacific standard simon:

His stomach is doing flip-flops.
  12:55pm Brez:

Who's gonna be the first to get married just so they can get Todd-o-phonic-Todd to DJ? C'mon!
  12:56pm marc:

That was rude of Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm pacific standard simon:

Poor Scott -- he tolerates so much crap from FMU DJs...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm Johnny_A:

Later Todd! Always a pleasure - see you tonight!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm pacific standard simon:

The only fill-in DJ who matters!
  1:02pm Jay from Scotland:

Terrific show - & thanx for the Allen Toussaint....
  1:34pm JSG:

Great set today. Thanks.
  2:18pm doug poswencyk:

Great show as always Todd. I always enjoy your fill-ins. Ralph Kiner will be missed greatly. Saw him up in Cooperstown for the induction ceremony this past summer. He was having a tough time but was still very friendly. I had forgotten about the Fran Healy comment. Maybe Fran Healy wasn't the best (even though he was nominated for the Ford Frick Award several years ago, the same year as Ralph) but I will always think well of him. Several years ago my son and I were at a Mets Phillies game in Philly. After the game we were hanging out near the players entrance when Fran came up to us, introduced himself and starting talking about baseball with us. Then he introduced us to Bob Murphy who was very short and very cranky. he then introduced us to several ballplayers. My son got a lot of autographs that night. Fran was super friendly and super nice.
