Did my ears malfx, or did Jim Price get a snow day?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm DCE:

Scotty! wow me, bud.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm common:

this is the theme to cannibal holocaust? crazy. I love horror flicks, but i've heard too much about real violence done to animals in that flick, so I've always avoided it.
  3:05pm van:

Yeah what happened with Jim
  3:05pm Santos L Halper:

Ahh...the soothing sounds of cannibal holocaust.
I see what you did there with the curare- nice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm common:

daughters of darkness on the other hand...
Avatar 3:06pm Zebtron A. Rama:

Dig it.
  3:06pm Santos L Halper:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Scott Williams:

Brrrr!! Snowy Day! Hi pals. No, Jim was here - oh, you blinked? @common - yeah, avoid it. it hurts. lovely sdtk tho!
Avatar 3:07pm Bryant:

Cannibal Holocaust is definitely difficult to watch -- and not that great a movie, besides. But RIP, Riz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm steve:

hey all! common - its worth avoiding, even for a horror buff. the theme song is so undenaible though!

I'm still here. Scott has freshly sawed wood balls for Irene and I.
Avatar 3:11pm Whooda:

Ummm, any GIFs of those wood balls?
  3:12pm Prince:

There wuz real actual violence done to animals onscreen IN the movie?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm common:

thanks scott, bryant and steve. My friend became a vegetarian after seeing it. I'll stay away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Scott Williams:

@Prince, yessir. poor sea turtle
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm common:

i believe so, prince. Something horrid happens to a turtle.
Avatar 3:17pm Whooda:

A turtle snuff film? Really?
  3:19pm 1/2 oz weed blunt:

Fuck yes, greatest track
Avatar 3:19pm northguineahills:

When Liz played this Dj Detweiler this morning, it really woke me up and got my attention.
Avatar 3:22pm northguineahills:

Beautiful segue, Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Scott Williams:

danke, nhg
Avatar 3:23pm Whooda:

@NGH I was thinking the same thing. Seriously, I was trying to fall asleep with the stream playing and my mind was trying to make words from the letters. haha
  3:31pm Robert:

Jim's entry for today has magically appeared in the archive, like an encyclopedia entry in the USSR.
  3:35pm Robert:

I have a pocket medical dictionary that was done to, where the entry for "osteopathy" that had basically called it quackery was stickered over with an entry that was laudatory of it. It was a foil-backed sticker that light wouldn't come thru, and glued on really firmly. Between the printing of the book and its issuance (in 1975), MDs had made their deal with osteopaths.
Avatar 3:36pm northguineahills:

Huh, my father got his DO in 1978.
  3:44pm pierre:

  3:44pm pierre:

Ça va people ?
Avatar 3:45pm Chris from DC:

Didn't watch a single down, never even turned on the TV.
  3:45pm Robert:

What happened was that most of the remaining schools of osteopathic medicine expanded their teaching so that it came to include all of medicine, plus the osteopathy, while some schools remained traditional and were marginalized, and the rest had gone out of operation. I got that pocket dictionary as a freebie (promotional from a drug or equipment maker, IIRC) when I entered the Chicago Medical School in 1975.

It's kind of like what had happened with homeopaths much earlier, except they had a much bigger traditional faction. Chi. Med. itself had been founded as a homeopathic college.
  3:49pm Sean From IA:

Don't give a flying flapfuck about the Super Bowl but did the seahawks not create similar security state nightmares whereever they stayed? Just curious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm steve:

favorite superbowl related moment (as told by a friend) - group of British guys at a bar shouting "Go Seagulls!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Scott Williams:

Hi Sean - yes, probably. but they were like 5 blocks away. no immediate impact!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm common:

@steve: Hee hee hee! Game! Team!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Mike East:

@steve - was it you that suggested watching "Local Legends" by Matt Farley? If so, thanks. I watched it the same day that it was recommended and found it to be pretty excellent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm steve:

yes Mike! glad you enjoyed it.
Avatar 3:57pm TDK60:

Wow, your description of security round FMU!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Mike East:

awesome. I'm thinking about calling him up to tell him I liked his film....maybe he'll write a song about me.
Avatar 3:58pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm steve:

Avatar 4:14pm Serpico:

Avatar 4:17pm Serpico:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Ike:

Hmm. From what I can see, Icepocalypse 2014 is another bust, at least so far. Just another standard snowpocalypse. I forgot to bring my Microspikes to work, so it's just as well.

Avatar 5:30pm jk:

I'm sure you've seen it but the video for that song is ridiculous, racecars, beards and virginia slims
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Scott Williams:

Ohhhhhh yeah! he's so amazingly deadpan in it too, while doing a little whiteboy shuffle in place. great video
Avatar 5:31pm EzSezz:

Great to hear Bajm. Translation of title: There's no water in the desert. La, la, la, la, la.
Avatar 5:33pm dyingforbadmusic:

just watched the video! it's awesome! Also interesting that he was member of OMEGA - the Rolling Stones of the east. Thanks for digging this out!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Scott Williams:

ya gotta see the Bajm video too! so in love with that lady www.youtube.com...
Avatar 5:45pm jk:

Bajm was unknown to me, the song was excellent and video is an amazing testament to what can be accomplished with a good idea, a truckload of sand and a red gel.
  5:58pm bloopy:
