Good morning, Bill, Looms, and everyone to come...
Avatar 3:09am Bill Mac:

Morning gents (and ladles!), and welcome to the final installation of the 2013 year. The short weeks are painful!

Like these Chiefs...
Avatar 3:10am Andy in Berlin:

Good morning everybody!
Avatar 3:11am Bill Mac:

They got sprung on me this summer, opening for Goblin - what a surprise.
Avatar 3:11am Bill Mac:

Hey-o Andrew!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12am Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks to the powerful new superdrug that is in modern-day coffee, I'm wide awake at this hour listening in. In the future, I should probably seek out decaf.
Avatar 3:12am Andy in Berlin:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12am davex:

Hi Andy, how is everything?
Avatar 3:13am Bill Mac:

Make my caf a triple.
Avatar 3:13am Andy in Berlin:

@Davex - I'm fucking beat. Thanks for asking :)

Back at you Loominosity!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33am davex:

Sorry to rub in the time off, all you industrious people. Don't worry, I'll be back to work soon enough (I hope).
Avatar 3:34am Brian in UK:

We have had some really bad flooding in the south of England, going to visit my sister soon, so I hope the back roads are not flooded and the trees are still standing.
  3:35am andy in berlin:

thanks Brian
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37am davex:

Sorry to hear that, Brian, hope you get through it dry and in one piece.
Avatar 3:39am Bill Mac:

Yeah, Brian, hadn't really heard too much about the bad weather over there of late... it's trying to be cold here.
Avatar 3:41am Brian in UK:

Here are some peoples' snaps
Avatar 3:42am Jay/London:

happy happy merry merry and good morning Bill And All
Avatar 3:42am Looms:

Ha ha, "Loominosity", it's a good one: we lost the streetlights during the Dirk storm in my alley. The municipality should give me a second job...
@Brian, some bad flooding, power failure and trees down in Brittany too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44am davex:

Those pictures don't look good, Brian. Had a lot of that around here too this past year.
Avatar 3:45am Jay/London:

@ Brian in UK ... I have been alone up here in London all over Christmas because of the Floods Wind and no Transport :(
Avatar 3:47am Brian in UK:

Hello Jay, what can you see from your lookout?

My brother only got electricity back at midnight on Christmas Eve.
Avatar 3:49am Brian in UK:

Man with hole in pocket feel cocky all day. (Chinese proverb)
Avatar 3:50am Jay/London:

@ Brian does not look too bad today clouds building in the south think today will be better my folks could not travel on the day so going to come up Sunday for a late Christmas
Avatar 3:51am Jay/London:

@ Brian love the Proverb !!!
  3:52am andy in berlin:

whoa! It sounds like you UK guys have been having a time of it!
Avatar 3:54am Looms:

And Bill, don't worry about your french. It's so exotic ;)
Avatar 3:54am Bill Mac:

Yeah, thanks Brian, that'll be stuck in my head (no further pun intended) all day.
Avatar 3:56am Bill Mac:

Thanks for the pass on the French Looms! Exotic. yup, that's the ticket!
Avatar 4:09am Andy in Berlin:

Love Sonny Sharrock. I first heard him on a Pharaoh Sanders record, Tauhid where after the then pre-requisite period of random honking after the theme had been stated, SS comes in off the beat, in a different key and different time signature and then they start chanting this little melody. Great!
Avatar 4:12am Bill Mac:

I know he was on another one with Pharoah called Ask the Ages that I need to revisit. I remember his playing as being very understated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12am Stanley:

Hi Bill and everyone. Up late with a cold. Bah!
What have I missed.... Mustaphas, Gong, Ween. Double bah!
Avatar 4:15am Andy in Berlin:

@Bill - this one was Tauhid, the tune is Upper And Lower Egypt. Lower Egypt is where Sonny comes in.
Avatar 4:17am Bill Mac:

Hey Stanley, yeah, been playing a few faves today. Take care of that cold!
Avatar 4:18am Bill Mac:

@Andy:We'll be hearing that one soon
Avatar 4:20am Mike from MPLS:

Avatar 4:21am Bill Mac:

Yo Mike! Late night?
Avatar 4:21am Brian in UK:

Hey Stanley. did this cold come from Speyside?
Avatar 4:24am Mike from MPLS:

Yeah...I tend to stay up late on the weekends.
Avatar 4:30am Mike from MPLS:

I went back and listened to that track that reminded me of Friends by Tubeway Army...I have no idea what I was hearing. Made me feel totally insane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30am Stanley:

@Brian - got to be the filthy weather. Come to think of it a wee dram might just put me right. (Climbs into gorilla suit and tutu)
Avatar 4:31am Jay/London:

Now You Gota Dance in that outfit Stanley
Avatar 4:34am Bill Mac:

@Mike Happens - all the time to me. It's a nightmare when you're a DJ.
Avatar 4:35am Bill Mac:

....and who hasn't danced in a tutu? Hands up!
Avatar 4:36am Jay/London:

not yet but sure a time will come
Avatar 4:38am Jay/London:

kilts are better to do dancing in me thinks
Avatar 4:39am Brian in UK:

Contrary to popular belief, dressing up in womens' clothes has never appealed to me.

Old joke repeated.
'Is anything worn under the kilt?'
'No, it's all in perfect working order'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42am Stanley:

@Bill - is he in some reggae or ska band? Trombone goes down well there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49am Stanley:

I was always in the 'some kinda mug line'.

Mugs unite!
Avatar 4:49am Mike from MPLS:

Is he in a city or rural midwest?
Avatar 4:51am Bill Mac:

An hour out of Chi Town - jeez I'm making it sound like he's living in a vacuum... this is why I shouldn't opine at 430 in the morning - might as well go drive drunk while I'm at it.
Avatar 4:53am Bill Mac:

@I just read your joke.... that's two today.
Avatar 5:01am Mike from MPLS:

In the information age culture is more accessible, but it takes effort if you're not immersed in it.
Avatar 5:03am Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Bill and all Mac-cronys. Along for the this last hour.
Avatar 5:03am Bill Mac:

Yup, and he's immersed in different things than I am. To be honest with you, he's tapped into this place. He likes Bill Kellys show. I wasn't nearly as cool as that when I was his age.
Avatar 5:07am Mike from MPLS:

I grew up in rural North Dakota. It still feels like I'm trying to catch up from a cultural disadvantage.
Avatar 5:09am sofa-king awesome:

Good Morning Bill Mac and all eaters and listeners. Dropped in for a good toe warming.
Avatar 5:09am Bill Mac:

I think most of what you think your missing is dross. Funny, my brother in law comes from ND. I always think of ND as being strangely exotic and wild.
Avatar 5:12am Bill Mac:

What Up S-K A. Getcher toes in here@!
Avatar 5:15am MGB GT V8 R:

I am sufficiently amused by the artist/track/album/label listing in the show tonight DJ Bill Mac. The music is icing on the sound cake.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15am Stanley:

Nice to hear a new Steinski creation. The man's cool.
Avatar 5:17am Bill Mac:

Hey MGB, many of my previous playlist are also good for a chuckle. Music's not bad either.
Avatar 5:18am Bill Mac:

@Stanley - Again, someone else that needs listening to. I like the mix of beats, smarts and humor.
Avatar 5:19am Looms:

For those who didn't understand, the B Fontaine song began like this: "I dislike brain splattered on windshields during the summer". She's so sweet...
Avatar 5:22am Bill Mac:

She never sounded as dark as her songs are - not until later anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am Stanley:

@Bill - the archives are crammed full of amazing Steinski recordings, just that they are nearly 20 years old. I did hear mention that he turned up at the Record Fair. So he's still around.
Avatar 5:27am Bill Mac:

He was part of the staff at one time wasn't he?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am Stanley:

Don't know, Bill. But if you're listening Steinski, do say hello.
Avatar 5:31am Brian in UK:

Did you get Steinski's premium the other year? It is good.
Avatar 5:33am Brian in UK:

Hey Bill, Mose's daughter Amy is good too. Recorded as album in East Kilbride.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34am Stanley:

@Brian - you betcha! I also enjoy Ergo Phizmiz's work on this station.
Avatar 5:36am Brian in UK:

This is all you need. The lovely thing about Steinski is, he is a music fan.
Avatar 5:37am Brian in UK:

Got to hit the motorway system.
All the best to everyone for next year. Take care, drive safely.
Avatar 5:39am Bill Mac:

@Brian : Safe trip and I know that we got a nice box set of his in the library. Happy new year!
Avatar 5:42am Sem Chumbo:

Enjoying all the mostly-new-to-me music. Lovely way to start the day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42am Stanley:

Bye Brian - catch up later. Take care on them roads.
Avatar 5:47am Bill Mac:

@Sem Yeah I think that the one way I can be sure to stay interested is to play a lot of new stuff.
Avatar 5:52am Sem Chumbo:

Well said, BM.
Avatar 5:55am Jay/London:

thanks bill a nice chilled show today
  5:55am The Missus:

Heeeeeeeeeeey folks.... I'm looking at the door. Be safe this week and I'll see you next year....

Didn't i say that last year?

Don't forget to hold onto that rail.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59am Stanley:
