  3:22am KP:

Good morning mr. Zero
Avatar 3:23am Jay/London:

@KP heard some bad weather is coming your way
Avatar 3:24am Bill Mac:

Sposed to be crappy on the east coast this day... good morning KP. I need to drop you a line bout yer article. Real nice, made we wish I was around the NY scene back in the 70s. At least I was reading about it as it was happening.
  3:26am P-90:

Istanbul Oatmeal mmm...
Avatar 3:27am Bill Mac:

Now I'm Hungary....
Avatar 3:28am Andy in Berlin:

Good morning all! I thought I was leaving for the airport and wouldn't be able to listen but I misread my ticket and have a little extra time. Certainly enough to check in and say Hi!
  3:28am P-90:

This makes me crave belly dancers, actually
Avatar 3:30am Bill Mac:

Andrew! Where you going?
Avatar 3:30am Andy in Berlin:

Sweden to see - wait for it - .....Twisted Sister
Avatar 3:31am Bill Mac:

Who doesn't like a good belly dancer every now and then - am I right?
  3:31am P-90:

Nn shit?
  3:32am KP:

Thanks Bill. Reaction has been great.
Avatar 3:32am Bill Mac:

I find it interesting that you can listen to TS AND this stuff. I bow to your slanted (twisted?) variety of taste.
  3:33am Emile:

It's around the globe this morning with Bill!
Avatar 3:34am Andy in Berlin:

No, my taste is more slanted in this direction. But I made a movie about them so I'm sort of friends with some of the guys.
  3:34am KP:

Looks like weather will ko our last gig of year
Avatar 3:35am Andy in Berlin:

you can check out the FB page for the movie - as well as other forms of flagrant promotion
  3:40am P-90:

@ZHour: ever hit the Turkuaz restaurant on 1ooth & Bway?
for a few years they had really, really top-notch trio of Turk musicians, 3 brothers I think, who played every Thursday night, live, all night. 3-4 sets. At 11pm a different guest belly dancer would perform to their accompaniment. And this was all in the bar area up front, not in the dining room. it was too special to last, they just have the touristy dance show w,recorded music now. Food's real authentic
Avatar 3:43am Andy in Berlin:

Ok, gotta bail...
Avatar 3:44am Bill Mac:

P-90 Mmmm, food and entertainment, I have to check this out. I'm not from the NY area,so there are a lot of entertainment gaps that take a lot of time to fill. Would love to check that out.
  3:44am P-90:

FB page is cool. Bon Voyage!
Avatar 3:44am Bill Mac:

@Andy Laters!!!!
Avatar 3:45am Andy in Berlin:

@ p90 - Thanks! lot's of good stories there
@ Bill - continue to kick some ass in my absence. See you at the archives!
Avatar 3:47am Bill Mac:

@KP Where are you supposed to be playing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47am Brian in UK:

Hail to the Mac and fellow listeners.
  3:47am P-90:

"Q: why didn't Dee Snyder fund this movie? A" Because it's my movie and not Dee's(!)" Way to go
Avatar 3:49am Bill Mac:

Hey Brian, how it goes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52am Brian in UK:

Just went for a tramp in the woods. He got away though.
Taa Daaa
All this talk of food.
  3:54am P-90:

I took a tramp in the woods yesterday, she had more fun than I did
Avatar 3:55am Jay/London:

@ Brian What was the Tramp doing in the woods hope you gave him some food !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55am Brian in UK:

This is scary at this hour.
Avatar 4:03am Jay/London:

@ Brian Just watched it looks like everyone got off ok even the Dog
  4:03am P-90:

@Brian: Wow! Vodka and ice, a classic combination. My favorite (favourite in UK) thing is how casual the near-miss pedestrians are (most of them)
Avatar 4:03am Bill Mac:

Yikes.... the last one on there was on the national new I think. That stuff NEVER happens here :|
Avatar 4:05am Jay/London:

@ P-90 we have second sight over here
Avatar 4:07am Looms:

Morly Grey was a perfect soundtrack to this vid, thanks Brian.
Avatar 4:08am Jay/London:

yes it was looms could not be better if it was planed
  4:09am P-90:

Yeah, the dog def made it OK.
@Bill: can you mention the URL over the air so audience not online can see what you're referring to
  4:13am P-90:

Roky will also be a good soundtrack for the video
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20am Brian in UK:

Bill, will you be visiting many relatives this festive season? If so, please mind your step.
Avatar 4:21am Bill Mac:

My mantra is now 'Hold onto the Rail"
Avatar 4:28am Looms:

@Brian: can Spencer do this?
Avatar 4:29am Jay/London:

Best To stay home Brian and have a tramp in the woods
  4:34am P-90:

Still thinking about food, and now seeing those Russian car crash antics made me think about drinking vodka...

@Bill: Have you heard the show Julie did in June with Aida the Turkish Queen? She put an HD photo on the playlist of a big display of Turkish pastries. The Baklava, Bird's Nest, those cannoli-like crispy rolls filled with pistachio paste, etc.
Staring at it for hours while listening made everyone almost psychedelically fixated, if there was place to get that stuff in the NY/NJ area in the middle of the night, it would have been mobbed by listeners. (Now that would have been a real sweet meetup *rimshot*)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34am Brian in UK:

I could do with a good laugh today, Bill. Crap week.

@Looms no chance but being a beagle he can smell things we have no idea are there. Pretty impressive tricks.
Avatar 4:35am Looms:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36am Brian in UK:

@P-90 go to Istanbul and taste the delights there.
Avatar 4:36am Jay/London:

great vid of the dog
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38am Stanley:

Howdy everyone. Just got up and I'm a bit shakey this morning.
Drank a lot of beer last night.
  4:39am P-90:

Beer? hmm..
Avatar 4:43am Bill Mac:

Beer! You must be psychic P-90
Avatar 4:43am Looms:

Just have a tramp in the woods and you'll feel better, Stanley.
Avatar 4:43am Bill Mac:

Avatar 4:44am Jay/London:

we want beer !!!
  4:45am Stanley:

Very funny Bill!
  4:47am Stanley:

Actually can I pass on the beer for a while?
  4:47am P-90:

Feeding Tube Records haha
Avatar 4:47am Mike from MPLS:

Oh my god....I'm a disaster....I hope i can contribute
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49am Brian in UK:

@P-90 I can throughly recommend this shop.
  4:49am P-90:

Au contrere, you CAN drink a beer at 10:45, no problem.
  4:52am KP:

Still here. I was arguing with someone on FB about Inside Llewyn Davis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52am Brian in UK:

Click on Products then let them take you away.
  4:53am Stanley:

@Looms thanks for the idea. What I will do is walk to the sea and let the breeze do its thing. Have a hearty breakfast and come up smiling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54am Brian in UK:

Stanley a good fryup normally does the job.
  4:54am P-90:

Avatar 4:57am Bill Mac:

It's funnier to see.
Avatar 4:58am Looms:

Absolutly, Stanley. Couldn't live far away from the sea myself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01am Brian in UK:

Thanks, Bill.
My Son the Folk Singer. He loves his mother.
  5:01am P-90:

@Brian: last summer I had layovers in Istanbul going to/from Venice, (because a great fare was available on that route on Turkish Air, which has great service and food) , but the stops there were both just a little too brief to go into town and hit local spots. It was killing me...so near and yet so far...
  5:03am P-90:

...they actually have Burger King and soggy pizza at Istanbul Airport
  5:06am KP:

I'm listening!
  5:06am P-90:

Can ANYone stand "Brand New Key"?
Avatar 5:07am Mike from MPLS:

My batteries died....I panicked. It kind of feels like I didn't miss anything...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07am Brian in UK:

Cannot understand it let alone like it.
  5:10am Stanley:

Went to Wooden Shjips on thursday. A hardcore drone psych-out. Matched only by the Glasgow crowd in attendance. Met a FMUer from Helsinki.
Avatar 5:12am Bill Mac:

I think Therese had them on her show a bout a month ago
Avatar 5:12am KP:

The piece, it's first person, does involve the station a bit. Here's the Facebook link (to the Times). There have been a lot of comments and i welcome more. www.facebook.com...
Avatar 5:13am Bill Mac:

@Mike nah you didn't miss much
Avatar 5:14am KP:

Here's the New York Times link. It's about punk etc. Thanks, Bill www.nytimes.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15am Brian in UK:

Nice piece, Bill.
The Ramones were the only band that muttered.
Avatar 5:15am Mike from MPLS:

I'd like to request Blind Shanke solely because they are hometown heroes for me.
Avatar 5:16am KP:

The new Wooden Shjips release is kind of mellow. I'd love to see them.
Avatar 5:17am KP:

Thanks Brian! I had to fight to keep that line in. One guy said he wants it on a T-shirt.
Avatar 5:17am Bill Mac:

You know I've been playing the Shakes a lot. So have other fols. Maybe something from their earlier release.
  5:18am Stanley:

Saw some graffiti the other day "Punk's Not Dad". Thought that was so good on every level.
  5:19am P-90:

@Stanley hee hee
Avatar 5:22am Bill Mac:

Smirk.... I likes it!
Avatar 5:23am Bill Mac:

@KP I thought that was odd. Who couldn't get their mind around the subtle humour in that line?
  5:25am P-90:

@KP: "...the only band that muttered" is even better though. I remember those days, how institutions like WNEW that had been so counterculture, and even subversive in a way, were suddenly irrelevant.
Avatar 5:28am Mike from MPLS:

I'd love to hear something from their earlier stuff
  5:28am P-90:

Never managed to catch T. Heads at CBGB, but kinda proud now to say I did see the Stilettos there
Avatar 5:28am kim (germland):

mr. no wave on the lighter side, love it
Avatar 5:32am Mike from MPLS:

Thank you SOOOOO mcuh. Love those guys!
  5:38am KP:

I saw the four piece Talking Heads in Central Park. It was still kind of early. They were unbelievable. Never like their more popular stuff but I am like that with every band
Avatar 5:40am Jay/London:

@ KP think remain in light was there best album
  5:41am KP:

Yeah WNEw is my adverse inspiration for the story , it's funny because they played the MC5, VU no problem. But the Sex Pistols, oh my they are scary.
Avatar 5:41am Mike from MPLS:

@KP I'd be willing to bet most people that listen to WFMU probably fill the same way with most bands. Nothing wrong with that. Comes with the territory.
  5:42am P-90:

The Monday morning after Heads were on SNL, it was the #1 discussion topic at my high school. Heck, all week
  5:44am P-90:

@MPLS: Yup. Those first 3 Police albums: uber-cool. After: not so much
Avatar 5:45am Jay/London:

met John and Sid when they were making there film john was great a gentleman Sid pissed scary
Avatar 5:46am Mike from MPLS:

@Bill Mac: I like where you're taking us.
  5:47am P-90:

  5:47am KP:

That's great Jay.
  5:47am Stanley:

Avatar 5:47am Looms:

Talking Heads! :)
Avatar 5:48am Bill Mac:

His girlfriend lived in Huntingdon Valley just north of Philly so they were big news the last year ro two before they died

@Mike - and I don't know where I'm going!
Avatar 5:48am Mike from MPLS:

I'm sure you'll figure it out by the time you get there
Avatar 5:49am Jay/London:

maybe on a road to nowhere Bill
  5:49am KP:

A link (in reverse) from WNEw to this station is Vin Scelsa. He went there from the on-campus WFMU. He had his niche there but couldn't turn around the concept
Avatar 5:50am Bill Mac:

.... a Savoy Brown tune Jay!
Avatar 5:50am Mike from MPLS:

  5:52am P-90:

Always thought the D. Byrne/R. Fripp guitar combo on I Zimbra inspired Fripp to work with Adrian belew in the 80's King Crimson. And what FMU comments board is complete without mentioning that band at least once?
  5:53am P-90:

Like Manhattan Transfer on acid
  5:55am P-90:

Now I gotta google Dokaka
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56am Brian in UK:

Fripp looks like someones grandad now. Always was an old man!!!

Great work, Bill. Mind the roads.
Avatar 5:56am Bill Mac:

Interesting cat, Dokaka.
  5:58am KP:

Avatar 5:58am Jay/London:

now to go and get stuff for the holidays .. great show bill :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58am Stanley:

Well, that passed quickly.
Thanks for easing me into my fuggy-eyed Saturday, Bill.

GUBBYE ALL! Be safe this week, and watch that oncoming traffic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58am Brian in UK:

  6:00am P-90:
