I like the animation. Don’t completely get it. Seasons?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06pm Tome:

Hi Faye ! Hi Kiddles ! .... happy Fuzzy longholidayweekend !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm fleep:

The trees symbolize the rolling out of the Winter Schedule. The bird represents the shows that didn't make it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm fleep:

And howdy, Faye!
Avatar 9:10pm JakeGould:

Oh, also. Hello. Melancholy night. Good music.
  9:10pm Bar:

Sun doesn't create that shadow, so, i think theres another sun. Smooth tunes, yes, very nice. I feel conforted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Faye:

I just draw stuff meaning comes if needed
  9:11pm Nichk:

This song (Second Salutation) kind of reminds me of one of the guitar/bass instrumentals from Captain Beefheart, like "One Red Rose That I Mean" or "Dali's Car". I love that kind of stuff.
Avatar 9:13pm JakeGould:

It’s nice even if meaningless. Good work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...one might as well try & Interpret a Dream from a simplistic book of alphabetized words...
Avatar 9:16pm twin knee lasses:

I like the animation because there is not one thing in it that is predictable.
Avatar 9:17pm Fernando:

I'm so happy to be listening to Faye's tonight!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm Tome:

No more dream interpretations. Just music. This “Patience” is so great.

Great thing about a drawing, is that anyone will read it in a diferent way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm Tome:

great thing about my apartment now is it's warm and cozy, drink in hand "ahh",, and I didn't blow it or the whole block up to kingdom come in the process of fixing the gas heater either...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41pm pacific standard jerry lewis:

Hello, nice lady.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm Faye:

howdy Jerry Lewis/Simon!
  9:42pm Rob in Maryland:

Hi Faye! Nice to hear the Mazzy Star, I've grown to really like it over the years. The Day Ravies song was quite wonderful.
Avatar 9:43pm JakeGould:

Why Jerry Lewis now & not Simon, Pacific Non-Standard?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47pm pacific standard simon:

Jerry just seems like someone who would say "hello" to the "Hello-Children-lady" in a particular way that I like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:48pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Bar - You asked what I was baking during Rob's show. It's banana/pineapple bread. Now cooling on the counter. Smells pretty good.
  9:50pm Bar:

haha, thanks for the reply, i hope you did rack it, otherwise itll get soggy.
Avatar 9:50pm Cherry Ice:

Watch your step there Ken, your're treading dangerously close to fruit bread!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm pacific standard simon:

I could see making that as a bundt cake with lime icing.
  9:52pm Bar:

i could use a bite of that bread, tho
Avatar 9:53pm JakeGould:

Talk of snacks reminds me. I need real food.
Avatar 9:53pm lunarcycle moma:

Banana bread, mana from tropical heaven.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm Faye:

I love your shifting usernames ductape WD-40
Avatar 9:58pm dog beauty contest:

My one small creative release. Thanks for that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02pm pacific standard simon:

I remember a Whole Earth column that ran briefly in a San Francisco newspaper -- the first one endorsed three essential tools: Duct tape, WD-40, and vice grips.
  10:03pm Bar:

exessive protection in that avatar, what wouldn't you do with wd40 and ducktape
Avatar 10:03pm Cadillac Panties:

I found this avatar on the web, it was named, "dream team" haha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm fleep:

Black Sharpie pen is the duct tape of writing instruments, I'd add one.
Avatar 10:05pm JakeGould:

W-D 40/Duct Tape. The pic reminds me of that gag joke picture that Travis Bickle had in his wallet: His Pride & Joy!

Mother... my chainsaw... let me show you it...
Avatar 10:18pm JakeGould:

I mention Travis Bickle & now this. Oy vey!

That had to have been David Thomas's favorite "song" ever.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm pacific standard simon:

  10:35pm Bar:

are they Dutch?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Again with the calendar issues?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Like I am infallible. My delicious banana bread is toasty done on the outside and still doughy inside. It'll be dark & crunchy outside by the time the inside becomes done.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm pacific standard simon:

I confess that the majority of my FMU listening these days is on the Give The Drummer Radio webstream, and the new schedule removes one of my favorite DJs from the FM side of the station.
Avatar 10:42pm JakeGould:

Ken, sounds like the temp is too high. Keep it at 275.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Ah, thanks, Jake. The recipe said 350.
Avatar 10:48pm JakeGould:

Errr, just checked & my recipe for Apple Bread (same diff) and it says 300. Mixed up the meat cooking temp of 275 with the baking temp. Have a thermometer in your oven? Or just trusting the dial. Get a thermometer. Sounds like your oven is running too hot. Only way to explain the crusty outside & doughy inside.
  10:50pm Bar:

may i say something? temperature is just a matter in a whole combination thing, you can play, with quantity of liquids and grains. The hotter the oven, more liquids you need to get a moisty bread for ex.
Avatar 10:51pm JakeGould:

It all depends. Bar is right. If the mix is too moist that is a factor as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm pacific standard simon:

Could be a chemistry thing, too -- like trying to substitute milk for buttermilk.
  10:52pm Bar:

  10:53pm Bar:

greater amount of fats, hotter the oven could get
Avatar 10:53pm JakeGould:

Makes me now want to bake apple bread.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm pacific standard simon:

Right now I'm drinking Spire Hard Cider ("dark and dry") -- apple-y goodness!
Avatar 10:56pm JakeGould:

Damn, Spire sounds good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm Sigurdur:

hello faye
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57pm Faye:

Hello Siggy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks for the helpful info, folks. This is my first time baking banana bread. I'm trying to expand from pies.
  10:59pm Bar:

you welcome
Avatar 11:00pm JakeGould:

You’re welcome. Ken, this is how I learn anything: I account for screwing up the first 1-3 times. Maybe I get better, but I should learn. By the 4th or 5th time things are going good, or I should just give up. I can make Apple bread. It’s not too hard. Try, try again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm pacific standard simon:

Luck and fun to you. Baking is my profession, and it always surprises me that so many good cooks find it intimidating, because it's not.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm Andrew Waterloo:

I've seen a recipe that recommends substituting half the butter for yogart and 1/2 a cup of flower for rice flower, I think.. suppose to make it super moist with a crispier crust.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04pm Andrew Waterloo:

I may be inaccurate on those measures.
Avatar 11:05pm JakeGould:

Oh wow. Blake Babies!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm pacific standard simon:

That sounds like an acquired taste, Andrew.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm Andrew Waterloo:

Yah, I like my classic banana bread.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm Sigurdur:

It's a trick! Faye is sapping our will to fight over bread with beautiful music!
  11:30pm lulu:

:-/ do emojis not show up? My comment was cut off after my emoji
  11:31pm Bar:

put some belgian cocoa over it
Avatar 11:32pm JakeGould:

No, emoji’s don’t show up here. That’s a 2013 technology.
  11:32pm Ahmad:

No, no emojis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35pm pacific standard simon:

Hinky-dinkys show up, though -- try one of those.
Avatar 11:36pm stray teepee:

Ken, when starting off on your baking adventure, I find old Betty Crocker recipes a good starting point, they are proven and basic, each cake or loaf provides new opportunities for experimentation one step (or ingredient substitution) at a time. This is a great time of year to experiment 'cause you can gift all your experiments. The first pumpkin pies I gave away were atrocious (but I thought they were good).
  11:38pm Ahmad:

This is like...if Beach House were not boring.
Avatar 11:40pm JakeGould:

Also, not to sound corny but some of the best simple recipes come from the manufacturers of ingredients. They genuinely spend effort on getting decent & simple recipes together so you can buy their stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm pacific standard simon:

When this song started, I thought it was a cover of "What Goes On". Still pretty sure I could sing those lyrics to it.
Avatar 11:43pm JakeGould:

This sounds very Velvets.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm Jeezy:

What happened to Bitch Prefect??!!??!!

Avatar 11:45pm label scraps:

Ken, try thinking of your bread as banana loaf with bread pudding in the center. Yum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm Sigurdur:

why not, sorry dj
  11:45pm Ahmad:

That was a shame.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm pacific standard simon:

Yeah, dowse it in brandy and set it on fire.

Avatar 11:49pm Fancyface:

@PSS Yeay, fire and alcohol, the shock and awe of cooking strategy.
  11:53pm Bar:

When you do read those recipes, do you get hungry quickly?
  11:54pm Ahmad:

And now to go back and listen to the 2 HRs and change I missed while I was out.
  11:55pm Steve-O:

Hey Faye.....fantastic show you put on today. Hope you enjoyed the last day of autumn 2013, and may the rest of your week also be fun & safe. =)
  11:55pm Bar:

See yah.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm Faye:

Thanks for listening everyone!!! sorry it was a bit rough at times
Avatar 11:56pm JakeGould:

Still good. Thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56pm pacific standard simon:

I never read a recipe until I've already thought of something that makes me drool.
  11:56pm Bar:

Avatar 11:56pm coughee diner:

I get frustrated when I read recipes, too complicated, all those ingredients and measurements and temperatures....damn it all...I not a scientist! I just want a piece of cake! 'Night Faye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm pacific standard simon:

So glad you're sticking around, Faye.
  11:57pm Bar:

I like simple recipes too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59pm Ken From Hyde Park:

This is like the beer discussions on Friday afternoons.
Avatar 12:01am Whooda:

Beer is an excellent baking ingredient...I have about three of them before I step into the kitchen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01am pacific standard simon:

  12:02am Bar:

You can count time in beers, like this cake will take 5 beers to get ready.
Avatar 12:03am potty in my pant leg:

Love it. a five beer cake!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05am pacific standard simon:

I have to stay sober in case the boss sticks his head in the kitchen.

Checking in - what did I miss?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Cooh John:

Fayed into you! And into the dark and onto the astral plane. Many good transitions. Bought the Mazzy Starr Single a year ago. You are a breath that's true.
