Saaay, this Ted fellow has my attention!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Get Well, Joe !
Avatar 12:21pm Reeshard:

Every new Amy Rigby song that I hear sounds like an extension of the last one of hers I heard. Which suggests one big song, albeit a nice one. They also suggest that maybe she begins her day by crying for several minutes. Which I hope is not the case.
  12:21pm jfreeman:

you go Ted! .. it's Josh Freeman.. i'm in westport point, MA sitting on the back deck working listening to WFMU.. how great to hear you on the air for real!
Avatar 12:24pm Jim McHugh:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Wretch:

Avatar 12:44pm KP:

Love the Milk Train.
Avatar 12:44pm Sean B.:

Good ole' Joe is such a humble & nice guy... ;A couple of years ago when I first checked his show out I was compelled to call him up; I say "Jesus Joe, your show is Great!" he says "Thanks man,I don't hear that enough"=True story.Him & Ted have that in common. Geesh, I dunno what happened but I really hope JOE is fixed up soon!.
Avatar 12:50pm KP:

I kind of like "Streets of Baltimore."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm pacific standard simon:

This is quite a run of groovy 45s.
  12:58pm Fly On The Wall:

Just the mere sound of Brian Wilson's voice somehow makes you feel "Alright" anytime...like medicine.

but you Ain't Got Me!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm herb.nyc:

perfect time to tell people to read m.azerrad's bk "our band could be your life". the REPLACEMENTS have a chapter. i love telling people about the book, and how the band loves to drink, and how they came up w/the name PAUL FALLDOWNSTAIRSBERG.
Avatar 1:15pm Richard from Venezuela:

Great rock.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Alex In Illinois:

Anyone listening on headphones? Holy fuzzy guitars in stereo Batman!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Matt F:

Ted, you are kicking all kinds of ass today. Don't forget to play "the Unmitigated Gall" for Joe B!
Avatar 1:26pm Cheri Pi:

  1:29pm Lori at Little Cricket:

Your picks are making for a very happy afternoon! Bravo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm herb.nyc:

haha, PAUL WESTERBERG was interviewed in THE BIG TAKEOVER magazine, about 10years ago (*i* was lucky enough to transcribe it). he describes appearing on an abc-tv music awards show & in front row is DAVE EDMUNDS, drunk, with his pals. the band goes into their song (damn, wish i could remember title) and paul says that he can read dave edmunds lips, "what the f*ck is this?". hilarious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm efd:

Still my favorite Iggy album. Enjoying the show, Ted!
Avatar 1:32pm Cheri Pi:

Me too EfD. clicky-stars everywhere.

  1:34pm Woo:

Read that the replacements for the old Replacements in the new Replacements will be two thirds of The Neighborhoods, great band from Boston.
  1:37pm BiilyDinJC:

Only Ones on my radio!! Great show.. Thanks..
Avatar 1:41pm Cheri Pi:

this is my jam!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Parq:

I saw Ubu start a set with "Pact" on their first tour after regrouping in the 90s. Dave T announced, "Our manager begged us not to do this song again, but it won't be the first time we didn't listen to good advice." I remember hearing those first rhythm guitar chords kick in and thinking, "Welcome back, guys."
Avatar 1:43pm KOTJ:

Ones, Dr, Tones, Pop, Saints, Syndicate, Ubu....
Avatar 1:45pm KOTJ:

BTW: Woo...the Rick Harte produced original single Prettiest Girl by The Neighborhoods is one of the greatest songs ever.
  1:46pm Edzo:

I could swear I'm listening to my iPod!
Avatar 1:48pm Sem Chumbo:

This playlist belongs on a jukebox somewhere legendary.
  1:50pm Woo:

KOTJ, I still have the picture cover 45 of Prettiest Girl. Agreed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm fleep:

Oh yes.
  1:55pm Eric:

fleep: beat me to it...
Avatar 1:56pm Sem Chumbo:

! My last one.
Avatar 1:56pm KOTJ:

Woo: NICE! Rick lives in my neighborhood. I've held the master tape in my hand. What a thrill!! He's been on my Boston radio show a coupla' times. A fine gentleman.
  1:56pm zoot:

Saw Merry do this live one summer many thousands of years ago at the Woolman Rink. Tix were two bucks. She was/is amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Wretch:

Anyone seen 20 Feet from Stardom? Supposed to be great.
Avatar 1:58pm cd tap:

realize I'm late on this but New Values is my fave too...that needed to be said...ok as you were.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Parq:

Wretch, yes. My own opin is that it could have been ten to 15 mins shorter, but on the whole, superb. Best Feature Documentary Oscar next winter or the whole thing's crooked. (Which, of course, it is.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm herb.nyc:

"take it off" - i heard alex chilton sing this, live (r.i.p.). sidenote: npr had a segment on CIRCUS RIDICULOUS and it said its acts are, well, ridiculous. like, a nude woman would come out & the crowd would yell "put it on!", and she would. by show's end, she'd look like she was inside a sleeping bag!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm herb.nyc:

this past saturday, BOB BRAINEN had a story about "the twist", involving HANK BALLARD and AHMET ERTUGAN. very interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37pm Parq:

Why does everybody hate Rod Stewart? He has so many great recordings. All right, so he made a few records that are the kind you make when you're trying to schtupp French supermodels. I'd a done it too, and so would you, fellas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- well - exactly - massive overplayed Hits that are his (Rod's) worst stuff - it's not because he can't sing, wasn't on great stuff, or isn't a nice guy (?)...
  2:45pm Woo:

I hate Eric Clapton more than Rod Stewart and I was quite fond of both in the day. I don't blame them for making money, I just choose to not to listen to their work of the past 30 years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- on DianeK's show we wondered out loud why we don't hear Faces instead of Stones once in a while...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Parq:

I'm not even talking just about early-70s stuff. I think "Young Turks" is a terrific single.
Avatar 2:52pm cd tap:

I hate Rod Stewart more than Rod Stewart.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- it's Rod doing Bruce doing Van
- but it ain't the worst.
- Haha cdtap!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Parq:

Anyway, sensational stuff as always, Ted. Looking forward to your next guest shot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Dominick:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- indeed - power went out here & missed a chunk
- but still gonna ☆ the whole damn 'episode'.
  2:57pm Woo:

It's hard to believe Eric Clapton left the Yardbirds because they were going too far to the pop side.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- don't forget that Bluebreakers album inbetween Yardies & Cream - because it do get forgot...
