Avatar 12:13pm Diane Kamikaze:

Hi All! Thanks for tuning in! It's the big ROADBURN SHOW!!! Takes me right back...! So many great bands! Hope you like!!
Avatar 12:14pm Diane Kamikaze:

@Mark - I didn't get the playlist updated in time, so your enthusiasm could be for Black Bombaim, who was 2nd in the playlist today, and may have been when you posted your comment (the Black Heart Rebellion song was 4mins long)...
Avatar 12:15pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

holy crap, aint no lunchbreak as long as this is happening. Someone email me a huge plate of the undhiu & dal with onion kulcha, please. I'll pay you back sometime in the far distant future.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm chris:

I am imagining the only consolation for not going to Road Burn is this show. Thanks for sharing, Diane, making my week over here!
Avatar 12:34pm Jim:

  12:40pm sweir:

I tried getting tickets to RB months in advance and it was SOLD OUT! It sold out in one day apparently. Hope to go next year. Thank you for the recap Diane! Love your show.
Avatar 12:41pm Jim:

It sells out in about 2 hours..and tickets go on sale very early in the AM for us USAers
Avatar 12:42pm Diane Kamikaze:

Actually this year I think it sold out in less than 20 mins. Setting an alarm for 4am once a year is well worth it!!
Avatar 12:46pm Jim:

I Just realized something..Since Voivod wasn't on this years Roadburn..Does that mean no VOOOOOOOOOOOOIVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVOOOOOOOOD!!!?
  12:46pm Daniel Arom:

Hey Diane, tell the world about us awesome Israelis you met there! ;)
Avatar 12:47pm Luna:

Haha, yeah, what about VOIVOD?
Avatar 12:48pm Jim:

We have to go to last years recap I suppose..

Righteous delivery, CP! No generic/store-brand plastic wrap for THIS!
  12:57pm Dirk 'DiNo' Noben:

Hi Diane! I'm home, just tuned in :)
Avatar 1:00pm Luna:

...and, so many bands that I missed.
Avatar 1:00pm Cheri Pi:

Exactly. No chances can be taken with the amount of Ken's brain splattering on all the office eqipment and Scott's precious Goosey.
Avatar 1:01pm Cheri Pi:

OOooooo clickity clickity click!
Avatar 1:04pm braveness23:

B23 here!
Avatar 1:04pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 1:04pm Cheri Pi:

Heya B23!
  1:06pm Cecile:

you mean "runner-up B23?"
Avatar 1:06pm braveness23:

Heya CP! Is this the show you can't stop talking about because they play a lot of Enya?
Avatar 1:07pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 1:07pm Jim:

I missed Maserati..How were they with the new drummer?..RIP Jerry Fuchs
Avatar 1:07pm Cheri Pi:

Bronze 23
  1:08pm Cecile:

Just missed the podium 23.
Avatar 1:08pm braveness23:

Whats all of this mocking of my name? I don't have to stay...
Avatar 1:09pm Cheri Pi:

There's no room for 2d rate Prog album producers here.
Avatar 1:09pm Cheri Pi:

10CCC! We are Legion!!!
Avatar 1:10pm MenfussMike:

I'm sorry, but I have to be REALLY fucked up when I listen to Hawkwind. That's why I like listening to Hawkwind
Avatar 1:10pm braveness23:

Oh yeah, I kinda forgot to deliver on the prog album, didn't I?
Avatar 1:13pm Cheri Pi:

Oh Sizznap! You effed up really bad.
  1:13pm Cecile:

we might be the only entry.
Avatar 1:16pm Cheri Pi:

LOVE. C-that crossed my mind too!!!
Avatar 1:17pm Jim:

this is quite good
  1:21pm Cecile:

what if Kurt Weill wrote satanic hymns?
Avatar 1:21pm Luna:

Jim, Maserati were damn good. The bass player was not there since he's been ill, so his bass was pre-recorded. They were a 3-piece, haha. I love Maserati.
  1:24pm Cecile:

kind of like demonic moths.
  1:25pm Dirk 'DiNo' Noben:

Sabbath Assembly and Witch Mountain at the same time... Oh the decadent Roadburn luxury... ;)
Avatar 1:27pm Diane Kamikaze:

Yes, Dirk! The lineup kept me in shape running back and forth! :)
  1:29pm Cecile:

she kinda sounds like Jimi Somerville at times.
Avatar 1:29pm Jim:

Dirk, do you wear white socks? (Sorry I had to)
  1:30pm Cecile:

Bet she can do a mean karaoke version of "Smalltown Boy".
  1:30pm Dirk 'DiNo' Noben:

No Jim, the thought of white socks alone makes my stomach turn ;)
Avatar 1:31pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Good lord, I dare to slip out for some calories & miss my cherished hook-wind!?!?
Avatar 1:32pm Cheri Pi:

I thought you were taken by a dingo!
Avatar 1:32pm Whosondephone:

Really Really Good Doom!!!
Avatar 1:32pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I'll never eat again!
Avatar 1:35pm Cheri Pi:

No tinkles or eating during DK's show.
Avatar 1:38pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Pretty Things! Holy hell, this festival...
Avatar 1:38pm Cheri Pi:

I can't believe the Pretty Things were there!!!
  1:38pm Cecile:

Avatar 1:40pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

That DVD of Pretty Things playing SF Sorrow live at Abbey Rd in their well-seasoned bodies was outstandingly great, despite the goofy cameo by D.Gilmour's smug mug.
Avatar 1:41pm Cheri Pi:

  1:42pm Cecile:

I saw them live in the late 90s when they came to town. It was really special
Avatar 1:44pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

They had a date booked here in DC a couple of years ago which was canceled for reasons unknown. Bad day, that.
Avatar 1:45pm Deed Runlea:

heavy track
Avatar 1:46pm Cheri Pi:

I never listen to this album, that changes tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The accompanying pictures today are a nice plus, too.
Avatar 1:48pm Cheri Pi:

  1:50pm Cecile:

Avatar 1:50pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 1:51pm Jim:

Avatar 2:00pm Cheri Pi:

I like this already
  2:01pm Cecile:

this is the best opening line I've heard in a while.
Avatar 2:06pm Luna:

Oh wow, now I see why a friend recommended Monomyth. Shucks.
Avatar 2:08pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 2:10pm Cheri Pi:

Avatar 2:15pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Pi speaks wisdom there.
Avatar 2:21pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 2:22pm Cheri Pi:

what he said!
Avatar 2:22pm InBrkly:

Cool. Reminds me of Neu.
Avatar 2:24pm Cheri Pi:

Proggy. like I like my coffee.
Avatar 2:24pm Cheri Pi:

Yep- reminds me of Ken's music behind the dj.
Avatar 2:25pm InBrkly:

Ha just looked them up and it is Michael Rother and Dieter Moebius. I guess you can't mistake their sound.
Avatar 2:26pm Cheri Pi:

  2:27pm Cecile:

Avatar 2:28pm Cheri Pi:

Pass the saran wrap.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm eyenoise:

How did Dan Kubinski sound, Diane?
  2:30pm Cecile:

I think I was the only girl in my crowd who liked Die Kreuzen
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thinking about live music...Primavera is coming up!
  2:31pm common:

yay godflesh!
Avatar 2:31pm Diane Kamikaze:

@eyenoise! He sounded great - he is now past puberty, so his voice is lower, but really, he had the rasp and the strength still in his voice - VERY impressive!! He's kept hisself in shape!
Avatar 2:33pm Cheri Pi:

I was the only girl in my crowd.
Avatar 2:39pm northguineahills:

Cripes, Been shuttling b/tn streams and missed Die Kreuzen and Godflesh.
Avatar 2:50pm Cheri Pi:

GOlden Void can say anything they want to me.
  2:50pm Cecile:

Hey, I missed the talking part - did you manage to see Sigh? I see fire! That must have been a trip
Avatar 2:52pm Cheri Pi:

She saw Sigh!! there were burning goblets of fire, and winged costumes and Mikannibal has the deep growly voice in the band.
Avatar 2:52pm Diane Kamikaze:

Yes, thanks Cheri! :)
  2:53pm Cecile:

Avatar 2:58pm InBrkly:

There are gigs like that which you can just enjoy as theater and then there are gigs like Crash Worship were you wonder if maybe you are going to be sacrificed and start looking for exits.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm eyenoise:

Great show Diane. Most of these bands off my radar. I love your enthusiasm!
