Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05am Liz Berg:

Perfect description, Sem! Welcome all to another Monday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I, as usual, am slipping into warm shower & getting ready for work - but listening...
Avatar 9:07am the glowing one:

sounds like being at the dentist when he tells you to "think of something nice"
Avatar 9:08am duke:

When you come in on Monday and you're not feeling real well, does anyone ever say to you, "Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays?"

No. No, man. Shit, no, man. I believe you'd get your ass kicked sayin' something like that, man.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am Liz Berg:

Apparently some FMU staffers went out for lunch on the Monday following either the Record Fair or the Marathon some years back and when the waitress came up to take everyone's order and saw a crowd of grisled, underslept, and overworked FMUers, she proclaimed: "Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays!" Miraculously she emerged from her shift unscathed.
Avatar 9:16am HEAT:

good mornign!

Need to get a gift for a relative who is hard to shop for and isn't really into music... any ideas?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37am tim from champaign:

Liz, there was a 7 Second Delay around December 2011 where callers helped each other out with that question. It was actually quite informative.
Avatar 9:38am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Liz: You can't go wrong... I've had one for years and he's my VERY BEST FRIEND EVER EVER EVER.
Avatar 9:39am Chris from DC:

Whoa, must get one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am tim from champaign:

Also, my wife and I like to send gift baskets from Zingerman's Deli. They are always a hit. www.zingermans.com

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am Liz Berg:

Thanks for the tips, Tim and Rev!

4/22/1964:The President of The National Federation Of Hairdressers offered a free haircut to the next No.1 group in the UK pop charts. He said 'The Rolling Stones are the worst, one of them looks as if he's got a feather duster on his head.'

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am Liz Berg:

Welcome Cheri, my slave, and cheers to you, DC Pat!
Avatar 10:15am Cheri Pi:

Zingermans, you can get anything you want if you send their gift basket.
Avatar 10:21am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Speaking of gift baskets, I hear the floodgates of marathon swag have begun a-splodin' .. ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23am Liz Berg:

We have indeed begun swagging the masses. It takes us months to send everything out, though, so thanks to everyone for being patient!
Avatar 10:26am Rev. Turnip Druid:

sweet... The year Ken did his Corn Weenie premium, I stalked my neighborhood postman like a rare albino rhinoceros at a Safari Of The Damned. He surely went bitterly insane...
Avatar 10:27am Cheri Pi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am Leigh:

Can you please stop playing awesome songs? Having to take the time to click every star is a lot of work.

Avatar 10:34am Cheri Pi:

I li ke saying Klaus Dinger.
Avatar 10:34am Cheri Pi:

I like saying all the names of his bands too.

B23 here! Reporting from jury duty. I'll have to run at a moments notice if I get assigned to a jury. Justice *shall* be served!
Avatar 10:35am dc pat:

ick. I have jury duty on Wednesday............ick.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am braveness23:

no complaints so far except that the quiet room isn't very quiet. Something about a guy jamming to WFMU while he waits.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am Liz Berg:

Hang in there B23, and best of luck to you DC Pat! Jury duty ain't no fun.
Avatar 10:37am fred von helsing:

hops !
Avatar 10:38am dc pat:

..especially in dc where they call you up every 2 years like clockwork..
Avatar 10:41am Cheri Pi:

let us know how we can help inform your cases B23/DCP@~
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am Mike East:

remember...most people are guilty. Otherwise, why would they be on trial?
Avatar 10:43am dc pat:

the jury is guilty, man! The lawyers are guilty and the judge is guilty! WE'RE ALL GUILTY, MAN!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:43am braveness23:

I've been looking for a good time to read the manual for my digital audio workstion software without a nosy boss looking over my shoulder
Avatar 10:44am dc pat:

dang, this is a long song. it's a good thing it's good
Avatar 10:45am the glowing one:

quirky song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am tim from champaign:

DC Pat, just yell out "Bullshit!" and/or "Go to hell!" every time a lawyer opens their mouth. That should get you out of jury duty.
Avatar 10:48am the glowing one:

or use an ouija board...

Avatar 10:48am Rev. Turnip Druid:

B23: I trust you had your "kill 'em all, let GOD sort 'em out" t-shirt laundered for the occasion?
Avatar 10:49am Rev. Turnip Druid:

and true 'nuff, DCP. Every two years down to the week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am braveness23:

@RTD, it's a thong but yes, I am sporting it today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am KevinfromBayRidge:

Most FMU TShirts should do the trick. If you use the "Go to hell' option, say it like a Breckman!
Avatar 10:52am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Rock that thong!
Speaking of which, This Clinton Hensley is teh rawks!
Avatar 10:53am Rev. Turnip Druid:

anybody out there catching these Sparks gigs?
Avatar 10:57am duke:

Just tell the judge that the voices in your head will tell you if the defendant is guilty or not
Avatar 10:58am dc pat:

I told the judge once that I don't recognize drug laws. He said something like "Well, can't you set that aside for now and listen to the case with an open mind?" I said "No, I can't" so he let me go..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58am tim from champaign:

I actually want to experience jury duty. I was called once but the case was settled at the last minute. I was genuinely crushed.
Avatar 10:58am Rev. Turnip Druid:

That dizzy-spell jury-duty trick would never work here (DC) - they're legendary hard-asses. I think it's due to the very small pool of citizens (also explains the like-clockwork notices every 2 years). You would have to be actually physically on fire. And even then.... not a sure thing.
Avatar 11:00am Dr. Goot:

Richard's a nice guy, I see him 'round town all the time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am braveness23:

Honestly I am jury duty curious so I'm not grumbling too much. But two weeks is two weeks. I am sure that be Wednesday my curiosity will turn to the utter annoyance that everyone on the planet seems to have. I've always thought it was funny that you could ruin someones otherwise good mood by simply saying the words "jury duty"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am Carmichael:

Good morning Liz and persons.
Avatar 11:06am dc pat:

I was curious when I first got to town but a petty argument between some rich guy and a con artist just disgusted the curiousness right out of me.
Avatar 11:06am Chris from DC:

I was foreman on a two-day trial. It was kind of interesting, but having to read the verdict made me pretty nervous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08am Liz Berg:

I was all for jury duty until I sat on a jury: what a waste of time. Total B.S. case that should have been dismissed *before* they wasted 4 days of my life (and all the other jurors, too). Now I am despondent like many of you!
Avatar 11:08am Rev. Turnip Druid:

I try to be good-natured about it. Was only selected twice (so far), both turned into 2-day things. It can be entertaining to dig how pissed off everyone else is. Until I become one of them...
Avatar 11:10am Rev. Turnip Druid:

But yeh, my last one was a total waste of time. Typical rich-kid in Georgetown driving while hammered. No international espionage or dinosaurs, alas.
  11:12am bill:

I fumed through six weeks until the plaintiff ran out of money. And they STILL continue to call me in. grr
Avatar 11:12am dc pat:

hmm. I'll try your good-natured method on Wednesday, RTD...

Huh, one of those rich-kids totaled my car once. Actually hit 2 cars--I think he fell asleep at the wheel of his school bus..Luckily I saw him coming at the last second and almost got out of the way.
Avatar 11:15am Rev. Turnip Druid:

This kid just cruised through a 4-way stop after the bars had closed, cop was parked right there. Sumbitch refused a breath-test, hence we all get called in to go through the ritual. Sometimes an Atomic Wedgie is called for.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am braveness23:

I think I need to put an angry "goddammit, you dare you to ask me to participate in the justice system" scowl on my face now so that I fit in.
Avatar 11:25am costurica:

Brilliant song from Como Asesinar a Felipes Liz! One of the excerpts in the song is Jose Luis Sampredo's voice, he was a lovely Spanish writer who died a couple of weeks ago, it moved me to hear him here...
Avatar 11:29am Cheri Pi:

Cheap Trick at Budokan!!!!!!!!!!!!:????????????????????
  11:32am Lulu:

Sorry was that picnic at Barnard this saturday?
Avatar 11:32am Cheri Pi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Liz Berg:

Yep, Lulu, the picnic at Barnard is this Saturday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Ken From Hyde Park:

Happy Earth Day!
  11:34am Lulu:

Ok, thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am braveness23:

The woman next to me just got called and she put on a pretty good show of rage. I'm going to have to work on my anger management to follow that act.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Carmichael:

Speaking of picnics Liz, UCD's annual bash went off without too many hitches. Much higher vigilance rate this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Liz Berg:

Thanks for the UCD mention, reminds me that KDVS's fundraiser is this week!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am Mike East:

goddamn, I need a piece of gum.
Avatar 11:46am Jennique:

I had the same conversation this weekend at a bowling alley about Cheap Trick. "You know they are playing at John Varvatos Place?" "WHAT? Wait where is that?" "The old CBGBs"
Avatar 11:47am Cheri Pi:

Mouthbreathers are SO ill.
Avatar 11:48am Rev. Turnip Druid:

What Pi be said there.
Avatar 11:48am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Great name as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am Liz Berg:

Yeah, love the band name Mouthbreathers. I was gonna use that one eventually, but I'm glad they beat me to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am Mike East:

I've been reading that as Mouthbreakers
Avatar 11:53am Chris from DC:

I like the idea of Paint Fumes following Mouthbreathers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am braveness23:

Liz, thanks for a great show to get me through the misery of jury duty!
Avatar 11:57am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Good point, Chris. Wasn't there an AmRep band called Gas Huffer? Could be a theme set...
Avatar 11:58am HEAT:

I enjoyed your show!! good shit
  3:13am mark:
