A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Surf as precursor to Punk is worthy of exploration; Wunna the earliest Drop Out & DIY scenes w/ the BigDaddyRoth sortof Art & everything...

It's great knowing WFMU will be around for another year!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24am braveness23:

We have taken a very direct approach with Sophia and animals. She helps raise and take care the birds. When we get a half hog from the farm Sophia helps carve it up. She is pretty unphased by it and I am glad. She likes to play with fish heads and pig kidneys. SHe keeps asking when we are going to thaw the pigs heart in the freezer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am Priscilla:

After spending a few summers at YMCA Farm Camp, my daughter became a vegetarian.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am RevolutionRabbitNov63:

I didn't know Neil Young was in Fleetwood Mac - ! Much improved...
Avatar 10:28am Cecile:

I have to say, and this will sound weird coming from me, but Rumors is pretty much dark and bitchy and perfect on its own. But this is the weak link in that whole program.
Avatar 10:29am Cecile:

I mean the whole album is about breaking each others's hearts with hammers and then having angry makeup sex, and then there's "You make loving fun?" It's one of the least fun albums about love ever!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am Ike:

...Always thot of 'Rumours' as 'Rubber Soul' for tasteless knownothing Mainstream 70's cokehead conformists, & the Mac as a band that once had Peter Green - but I concede your POV valid...
Avatar 10:42am Cecile:

we have a wonderful kids bookstore in Mpls called Wild Rumpus. It has all kinds of animals walking around - chickens, dogs, kittens, there are fish and snake tanks too.
Swag For Life Member 10:43am Ralphine:

I liked "Rumours." Still do, in fact.
Avatar 10:44am Cecile:

I probably disagree with Ed Kuepper and Chris Bailey on more things than I agree with them on, but the Saints are still one of the greatest bands ever.
Avatar 10:44am Trouble:

no vivian i used a lot of lumber we had left over in basement. windows and door were re -using abandoned pieces from a friend. we did buy new 2x4's for the frame, and the roof plywood. we looked at other pix and designed it around our space needs. also didn't want to be bending over to clean it out so we made it ergodynamic and accesible to humans.
  10:44am Dave from SoDak:

FM "Tusk" has always been a guilty pleasure. So much drama going on with the group during the writing and recording - made for a highly under-rated album. Regardless, that Besnard Lakes cover was f'ing brilliant.
Avatar 10:45am Cecile:

you know, when Rumours came out, critics gave it really mixed reviews. Not many hits on there, like the last one.

Then it kind of grew on everyone.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48am Vivian:

Thanks Trouble! I took a chicken class a few weeks ago, at which they suggested buying a coop rather than going through the hassle of building it. Up until then, I leaned towards building our own, using found materials. My main concern, as for most chicken folk, is keeping the predators out - including our dogs!
