Janis Ian wrote this song when she was 14 years old, and it was released when when was 16. From a purely lyrical/political standpoint, this song is astonishing. No surprise, this song is in the Grammy Hall Of Fame.

FYI: if you're a Martika fan - and really, who isn't? - check out the self help video "Mr. T's Be Somebody Or Be Somebody's Fool", made in 1984. It will make you REALLY not want to do drugs.
