Scratchy vanity 45s, pilfered field recordings, muddy off-the-radio sounds, homemade congregational tapes and vintage commercial gospel throw-downs; a little preachin', a little salvation, a little audio tomfoolery.

That whole CD is great.

Bonsoir, it's late in Paris - Europe. But very much enjoying the music. Thanks a whole lot.

Greetings Pierre! Thank you.
  8:17pm pierre:

:)

It's not often that I can listen live. But it's always a pleasure.
  9:23pm Anthony Heilbut:

That Gay Sisters anthology is the greatest reissue in years, filled with revelations that almost nobody has heard. When I recorded Donald Gay, he was a
jazz crooner. Here he's a beautiful mix of C. L.
Franklin (family friend) and Sam Cooke (Evelyn's protege). Truly a major contribution to gospel history. By the way Donald's daughter Donna is a helluva vocalist. Three generations of musical talent.
