Listener comments!

  3:04pm
chris:

You know its gonna be an awesome show when it starts in Russian.
  3:11pm
Paulo Sebastiao:

Since are playing intercontinental rock, it would be nice if we could listen to "The Lost Tapes" by Can. There are some pretty fantastic tracks! Big hug from a small town in the centre of Portugal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm
Scott W:

Thanks Chris! Hey Paulo, don't you worry about the Can box, I've got the Can box
  3:17pm
Chapel Hillian:

Anyone seen Taxi Blues, the 1990 film that Pyotr Mamonov, the lead singer of Zvuki Mu was in? Well worth a viewing - harrowing, with unbelievable alcohol consumption
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
Scott W:

just learning of Pyotr Mamonov, haven't seen any of his movies. anyone heard the Eno-produced record? did it ever come out?
  3:23pm
Chapel Hillian:

"Zvuki Mu" produced by Eno came out in 1989 on Opal. It is great - wonderful cover painting, too
  3:23pm
raga:

why do the good always die so young?
  3:30pm
fred:

Haven't heard anything that good from the flaming lips in a long time. Not really a rip on them, just a big fat thumbs up!
  3:31pm
northguineahills:

Holy heels in the coals, this Flips w/ Erykah is actually really good!!
  3:32pm
Chris from DC:

Hey, thanks for the Marty clip. RIP Ernest.
  3:32pm
WRECKEDUMB:

I always loved the Roberta Flack version...Saw The Lips a couple of weeks ago when they did their 8 shows in 24 hours thing. Not sure if they made it. It was good. I did not walk out like I did a few years back. They were The Sheet back in the day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
Scott W:

pretty much in agreeance w/ all of you re: the FLips - mind-blowing in '95/96 when i first saw em; bunny ear-blowing cult of wayno lately. this one kicks tho, & the song is just eternal
  3:36pm
paula pc:

thanks a ton for the Marty clip...
  3:38pm
fred:

This is really great -- flaming lips/erykah badu. Fantastic even
  3:38pm
Mike East:

Erykah Badu was recently doing something with Marc Ronson and the Dap Kings
  3:38pm
BSI:

bunny-ear what now?
  3:38pm
WRECKEDUMB:

yea this song is just perfect. I remember exactly where I was when I heard Roberta's version. N while I will always hold a place in my heart fur The Lips, their material in the past decade pales in comparison to the releases up to and including the Ron Jones version. Play "Chrome Plated Suicide"
  3:42pm
hfox:

I love this Camayenne!
  3:46pm
northguineahills:

I saw that tour w/ oodles of xmas lights. I think they opened for Midnight Oil in Jacksonville, FL. Almost everyone left after Flaming Lips were done.
  3:46pm
BSI:

That Lips fan. She's a demented crow thing, she is.
  3:47pm
WRECKEDUMB:

Well put Scott....i got sick of Wayne's annoying rants in between/during songs...Embryonic was garbage...just terrible studio tinkering. Give me a shit ton of xmas lights and a hopped up fog machine and In A Priest Driven Ambulance anyday
  3:50pm
BSI:

"He's going to do it... he's really going to do it! He'll kill us all if you don't get out of here now, Holland!" - Ernie, Black Hole.

...Why the hell do I remember these things? Clean brain!
  3:51pm
Looms:

Looking forward to hear you pronouncing the first track, Scott!
  3:52pm
fred:

Where the hell is Pierre? He should be here by now
  3:54pm
Looms:

He's certainly been stopped by a tornado, Fred. You know how the weather is beautiful these days...
  3:55pm
Chop Scott:

Oh the screams, the screams...
  3:56pm
Chris from DC:

Or a derecho maybe.
  3:56pm
fred:

A tornado in Paris? Nice try, but he's going to need a better excuse
  3:57pm
Looms:

How about a glass of Picon?
  3:58pm
Looms:

Pure, down the hatch.
  3:59pm
Carmichael:

I don't need a glass of ANYTHING, after this long weekend. Even water. Hiya Scott.
  4:01pm
Rory:

Liking the Kastel track. Thanks!
  4:07pm
Rory:

this track also kicks ass!
  4:08pm
fred:

@Rory: it sure does!
  4:14pm
Rory:

yes! Old Alice Cooper.
  4:16pm
kat330:

Greets, Scott W! Appears I missed out on a wicked first set +. Borgnine, R.I.P. indeed, but what a good long life he had. That killer smile of his in a "What's Up with That?" sketch on SNL.
  4:37pm
moos:

my first fmuing of the day, nice
  4:44pm
VY:

Thanks for posting your set lists live. That 4p set was fantastic..

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm

  4:54pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm
Scott W:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm
Scott W:

  4:57pm
Chris from DC:

  4:59pm
Rory:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm
Scott W:

  5:00pm
fred:

I absolutely need that box set. Too bad Bimbo Tower doesn't have it. I'll have to feed some corporate bad guy instead. Any suggestion as to a lesser evil?
  5:05pm
moss:

i only knew black hole from the view-master version
  5:05pm
don:

yaaaaa buddy! amazing show! and to paraphrase the great man: "you kids with your pac man video games, zima, hoola hoops and dan foggleberg..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm

  5:07pm
Looms:

@Fred: try at Souffle Continu (20-22 rue Gerbier)
  5:18pm
fred:

@looms: thanks for the tip, but I just ordered it from Mute. Sorry, Theo, I just couldn't resist any longer
  5:22pm
fred:

Is there one bad track on this? Fabio played a full set of it and it was consistently amazing. And I'm not even a Can fan.
  5:28pm
northguineahills:

I dig this Ran Slavin track. Reminds me of those Sombient Rec comps 15+ years back.
  5:29pm
Carmichael:

These Eyes??
  5:31pm
Looms:

cool set.
  5:31pm
Carmichael:

Yuuuup.
  5:31pm
Geoff:

Blown away by that last Ran Slavin track... it's a free download, too!
  5:33pm
Geoff:

Well, donations obviously help the label, Cronica. I am donating.
  5:34pm
mossy:
