good morning, afternoon, or evening to you all!

Is there a Rococo Hoedown follow-up?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm charlie:

I have to listen to this song in headphones only, or the cats will go crazy.
  12:05pm Carmichael:

Or Electric Indian's Kemo-Sabe?

Perfect, Charlie!
  12:08pm Doug S.:

Music to enjoy Constitutionally upheld health care by!
  12:09pm kat330:

@Doug: Yes, JT called me from his office to tell me that super good news!
  12:09pm still b/p:

It's so June outside...and bikes and surfboards are passing by on cars. It's good we can rusticate here.
  12:09pm Lewis:

@doug S - lets hear it for SCOTUS!?
  12:09pm ndbob:

Indeed Doug - just started going through the opinion
  12:10pm kat330:

Bet the cats enjoy this one as well! :)
  12:11pm Lewis:

charlie pulls out all of the stops!!! who would expect less.
  12:11pm Carmichael:

Upheld, fuckers! Now shut up and remain insignificant, right wingers.
  12:12pm Carmichael:

I was about to ask Irwin to play this yesterday as part of his extra-terrestrial set, but I was called away to a meeting.
  12:12pm Jeff Kootch:

Grunt Howl Grunt Howl..... That's Why God Made The Radio....
  12:14pm kat330:

@S b/P: Just got back from some great boogie board surfing in Cocoa Beach, and I'm enjoying this "bucolia," too, but seriously, how you gonna keep me down on the farm after I've played in the sea! :)
  12:14pm Doug S.:

I'm guessing that, as Chief Justice, Roberts was keeping a keen eye on his legacy. Now on to more important things—the merry beasts of Charlieville!
  12:15pm ndbob:

My opinion of Justice Roberts is certainly elevated - looks like he tried hard not to see a major piece of legislation overturned
  12:16pm Parq:

Took the day off, so I actually get to listen live. Great start! The whole family loved hearing Lucia P, and my only regret is that I had to be out of the room for much of "Jollity Farm".
  12:17pm Parq:

And Doug, a friend of mine predicted last March that Roberts would vote with the Dems to preserve his place in history. I was skeptical, to say the least. I owe him a drink, I guess.
  12:18pm Lewis:

With the caveat that I am pretty naive when it comes to SCOTUS, I was quite surprised by Roberts... @ndbob, please share your thoughts as you delve deeper than I will be able to.
  12:18pm kat330:

That's a debt you'll be happy to pay, Parq.
  12:22pm kat330:

In re William Bendix: Sure having the life of Riley here while Busy Doing Nothing.
  12:22pm ndbob:

I had given the law a 50/50 chance of being upheld - several real surprises - Roberts being the deciding vote, the Court finding the ACA violated the commerce clause but was a valid exercise of the taxing power, and that the dissenters would have struck down the entire law
  12:23pm ndbob:

not surprised that it is a valid tax - it would have bene called one of not for the political problems it might have caused
  12:24pm kat330:

Wondering if we'll be hearing any Canned Heat? No need for canning the heat around here -- PLENTY of fresh heat at the moment.
  12:25pm Carmichael:

Just read that Don Grady of My Three Sons passed on. He had a band called The Mixed Nuts (that I recall seeing on the show once or twice), and their big hit was I'm a Good Man to Have Around The House.
  12:27pm kat330:

As to livin' off the land, we came home to a garden full of green tomatoes -- a few yellow already -- along with a zucchini ready for picking. We should have a ripe one or two for the 4th, mmmmm!
  12:28pm ndbob:

Yep.. I heard about Don last night
  12:29pm kat330:

I had a Buffy album or two, but not familiar with this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm charlie:

Hey, Kat, now you're a farmer!
  12:38pm Carmichael:

Out here in the fields, I farm for our meals.
  12:38pm kat330:

If a veggie/herb garden cuts it, then I've been one since at least 2005, though I've grown tomatoes at a variety of rental homes over the decades. :)
  12:40pm kat330:

You're pretty much in the middle of CA's breadbasket, right Carm?
  12:41pm kat330:

I've attended the Gilroy Garlic Festival -- what a hoot.
  12:42pm Holly in NC:

Hi Charlie & all -
Can't listen right now but the playlist looks astonishing - archives tonight, something lovely to look forward to while packing myself in ice! Love the cow photo ;-)
Woof moo forever
  12:43pm ndbob:

my gardening experience consists of deciding which prepackaged lettuce looks better
  12:46pm Carmichael:

I'm in the state's Capitol, smack in the middle of the Greater Sacramento Valley. I've been to the garlic festival, peach fair, pear fair, artichoke festival, crawdad festival, western rib cookoff, and all the other fun food fests that signify summer around here. And I'm headed to Santa Cruz this weekend for some old-man style surfing.
  12:46pm kat330:

@Bob: I'd go for the "living lettuce" package if your markets carry that.
  12:47pm Snortley:

Charlie - spotted you at the Cadman Plaza farmer's market in Brooklyn years ago, buying from "Farmer Fred" Wilklow. Now it all fits together.
  12:47pm ?:

I just have a fire escape/window garden w/ various chillies, herbs, and mustard greens....
  12:48pm kat330:

Give my regards to the westerm waves, Carm, from this old-gal body/boogie board surfer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm charlie:

Hi and bye, Holly -- see you later;)
btw, that picture is by Andy Warhol
  12:48pm kat330:

I know who ? is! north guinea hills!
  12:49pm kat330:

Wildwood Flower -- one of the best folk songs ever. Along with Wild Mountain Thyme.
  12:51pm kat330:

Charlie, you get in any contra dancing up your way? A live contra band w/called dancing is one of my fondest memories from the Goddard campus in the mid '70s.
  12:51pm Doug S.:

Andy Warhol is a legend here in his hometown of Pittsburgh. There is even a bridge named after him!
  12:52pm northguineahills:

yep, ? is me...
  12:52pm kat330:

@Doug: Not an armory? As in the P-burgh War Hall?
  12:54pm Michael:

Is someone gonna squeal like a pig?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm charlie:

Hey Snortley, I always went to Farmer Fred at the Courthouse farmers market! He was a great guy -- is he still there?
  12:57pm Doug S.:

@kat330
Yuck yuck! Warhol is a shortening of the original Americanization of the Slovakian Warhola for "Varchola."
  12:57pm northguineahills:

That's what I get for not previewing....
  12:58pm gary mitchell:

spaced-out flow, farmboy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm charlie:

@kat330 -- haven't (yet) got into the contra dance scene, although it sure exists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm charlie:

Hey Gary! Yup, psychedelic farmboy here.
  12:59pm kat330:

Well, both ? and NGH, welcome! My memory ain't too shabby for an old gal. ;) How are your fire escape plants doing? I know you folks had a bad heat wave -- not to mention a bee wave.
  1:00pm Snortley:

Yes, Farmer Fred is still there, and his kids run stands at Fort Greene and Grand Army Plaza. Now selling hard cider at those locations, too.
  1:00pm kat330:

@Charlie: It was the only way I could get my ex to go dancing at all, so I was thrilled with it. Take your wife for a spin sometime!
  1:03pm Carmichael:

I feel like this is Saturday morning, and I'm sitting in front of the TV with Froot Loops watching cartoons.
  1:04pm jan:

Hi Charlie- Loving the show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm charlie:

Hi Jan!
  1:05pm northguineahills:

The heat wave was good for the plants since I was home to keep them adequately watered. The mustard greens should be ready in less then two weeks.
Just the other day I had a bee fly between t she upper portion of my screen and window when I opened the window to go water the plants. It took me 20 minutes to coax it out. I couldn't leave the window w/ the screen open, and I didn't want close it and have the bee get lost in my flat.
  1:07pm kat330:

Corners way up. Chaz' jollity and the SCOTUS ruling, this Thursday *rules*!
  1:08pm northguineahills:

I loved that Android Sisters track....
  1:10pm kat330:

Bed music is "Ringo's Theme"? I thought it is "That Boy"?
  1:11pm kat330:

[or rather "This Boy"]
  1:13pm gary mitchell:

kat, the title on the 45 actually says "Ringo's Theme (This Boy)"
  1:15pm Carmichael:

Yay, Laura Nyro!
  1:16pm kat330:

Thanks, Gary! Carm, you took the words outta my fingertips!
  1:17pm gary mitchell:

i second that, carmichael
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm charlie:

kat, that's the music that plays in the movie A Hard Day's Night when Ringo is wandering around on his own
  1:19pm kat330:

Thanks!

  1:22pm Parq:

Mrs. Parq and the Parqette are watching "Game of Thrones". Hooray for headphones.
  1:25pm listener james from westwood:

yeah, bebey!
  1:26pm gary mitchell:

bebey was a radio dj too
  1:28pm northguineahills:

very nice kat....!
  1:28pm Carmichael:

I went looking for my Richie Havens LP last night, and I found a whole electronic music section I forgot I had. The Eclectic Electrics (?) of Dick Hyman, the Ohm collection, and lots of other stuff. This show just continued the electronic continuum already in my head.
  1:28pm kat330:

Very *silly* -- thank you! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm charlie:

Bebey was the quintessential renaissance man!
Yes, lol, kat!
  1:29pm Michael:

Yikes! I think the wife has this on vinyl!
  1:29pm ndbob:

Heya Gary!
  1:38pm Lewis:

doesn't lucia pamela do this as well?
  1:38pm Parq:

Kind of puzzled that it took as long as it did for someone to cover Johnston's "Cow".
  1:39pm kat330:

A driving beat for walking the cow... interesting ...
  1:39pm ndbob:

great version here

@still b/p: I read that as your haircut talks too much.... a devil's haircut?
  1:50pm 1MT:

oh, yay, it's the baby in the barnyard!
  1:50pm Carmichael:

Just stepped out for a minute. Something told me you were gonna play Daniel Johnston, Charlie.
  1:51pm Snortley:

The reverend Fred Lane did a song called "I Talk to My Haircut." Great one.
  1:52pm Carmichael:

Parq, have you seen The Devil & Daniel Johnston? It's a few years old, and they talk a lot about this Dead Dogs Eye album.
  1:53pm ndbob:

I've seen that Carmichael
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm charlie:

That's an amazing film, love it!
  1:54pm still b/p:

Need an exorscissorist.
  1:58pm Parq:

Carm, not only have I seen it, but I won a copy of the DVD as an emcee prize during a WFMU 'thon a couple of years back. The story his dad tells of the near-fatal small plane trip is chilling, all the more so for me because my dad was a small plane pilot.
  1:58pm northguineahills:

rofl, still b/p!
  1:59pm Parq:

Never heard that Specials cover of Dylan before -- really an ear grabber.
  1:59pm kat330:

Have a great day, y'all! Really dig it!
  1:59pm ndbob:

A friend saw Daniel in concert a few weeks ago and said he was great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm charlie:

Oh yeah, that plane story is amazing, Parq! Just read a book by Oliver Sacks that recounts his trip flying in a small plane with a pilot who has Tourette's Syndrome.
