  5:25pm Marmalade Kitty:

  5:33pm other david:

Howdy MK, great minds!

Definitely want to hit Primavera sometime, maybe next year

Have to say recording quality of all the sets so far has been great & the connection to base seems to be holding up well, nice work folks :)
  5:41pm chris m.:

  6:41pm Alicia Renee:

this's been GREAT! extra heaping thanks from remote wooded lands!!!!
  7:02pm Ike:

Digging OTC, but will any of the unheard or talked-over parts of the Field's set be archived? LOVED that set, it was better than the album, even.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm Liz B.:

We will pursue FMA permissions for all sets, no guarantee on who will say yes.
  7:32pm oldjollymon:

7yo daughter & I dancing to AfroCubism in the kitchen after dinner! thanks FMU!
  7:34pm Hugh:

Sounding terrific! Thanks for all the photos as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Liz B.:

The passersby are demanding more Bachata! I guess these gals ain't drunk enough if they can't boogie down to Michael Gira!
  7:54pm Mar:

Only two songs from Gira? That's bullshit
  7:55pm Gira:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm Liz B.:

We only had permission to record 2 songs unfortunately. Sounded great, though!
  7:59pm Gira:

Well WFMU needs to be more subversive and provide gummie bears next time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm Liz B.:

Ah, good old fashioned bribery... duly noted!
  8:07pm Economist:

Whoever controls the gummie bear supply, controls the world.
  8:12pm kat330:

Returning to the keyboard. Hi Liz, BT, JS and whoever else is involved in treating us to the music!
  8:16pm the glowing one:

"it was a frrgp dream"
  8:17pm kat330:

What's the gang of white hats with black bands all about?
  8:18pm other david:

That is quite the WFMU sticker location...
  8:23pm kat330:

Whoever's singing harmony should get equal billing IMO.
  8:24pm seang:

that chick is so hot
  8:24pm other david:

Needless to say, first time I heard SVE was on WFMU... "Save Yourself", must have been a year or more back, completely knocked out about 1 minute into the track.
  8:26pm kat330:

OD did you hear The Cure set last night?
  8:27pm jason:

i was hoping you'd ask, kat330! those are promotional hats for a brand.
  8:27pm other david:

@kat330, damn right I did - they were fantastic :)

Serpents <3

Christ I wish the first song I wrote on electric guitar had been this good...
  8:28pm kat330:

Ah, leave it to me to step into a promotion trap.
  8:30pm kat330:

Are you aware of the entire set list? I can post it if anyone's interested and it isn't annoying. (I never know since nothing I ask or say to the team overseas gets replied to.) Oh, and yes, I am quite enjoying this SVE.
  8:32pm other david:

Post away!

  8:35pm kat330:

THREE fucking encores, NINE songs in encore dos! Damn, Bas hit the jackpot! :)
  8:40pm other david:

Aw damn, that would have been amazing.

I've only seen them live once, at a festival, and the audience was awful - unenthusiastic & dour, so there were no multiple encores. It's part of the reason I dont go to festivals here anymore - same thing with Nick Cave, saw him at another festival, put on a great show, audience was terrible.

Had a whole heap of songs on their setlist they didnt bother playing. Rabble rabble!
  8:41pm the glowing one:

that's more than some bands play a whole night. well, the cure sure had a good time it seems.
  8:43pm kat330:

It completely shocked me when I found the list online. I know the guys were saying it was like a 3-hr. concert, but it didn't connect until I saw that list. Just wish I could've heard Lullaby. The sound was remarkable through our Allegro box. [for the umpteenth time, again thanks FMU team!]
  8:48pm will:

I know I'm a little late to the game here, but can you tell me who's in the topmost photo sporting I'm A Prog Addict t-shirts? Also a place to order them (the t-shirts, not the prog nerds!) Thx WJ
  8:48pm Looms:

Hello Primavera DJs and all!

@kat330: nice to know that The Cure played a few songs from The Top again, one of my fave pop albums of all times.
  8:51pm kat330:

You didn't hear the set last night? You should hit the archives for those first 12 of the set if you didn't. Really wonderful.
  8:54pm kat330:

What's he snipping with that scissors sound I wonder.
  8:55pm Philo Gristle:

With all the jungle sounds I keep expecting Martin Denny to pop up and start doing "Quiet Village."
  8:56pm the glowing one:

yo yo yo yo y yo yo yo yo yo...
  8:57pm the glowing one:

or is it... dope dope dope dope dope dope dope dope?
  8:58pm kat330:

Guess the scissors finally broke through.
  8:58pm Looms:

Oh that's a nice throat singing sample.

@kat: no I didn't
  9:01pm kat330:

Any DC people on board tonight? Dang pat? I saw you got an awful storm yesterday evening and hope everyone's OK.
  9:06pm Richard from Venezuela:

I'm a prog addict.
  9:10pm kat330:

THAT's a photo!
  9:13pm other david:

It belongs on an album cover
  9:15pm Marc:

last nights archives on MP3 cant be put on an ipod? Just checking.
  9:18pm kat330:

@OD: If you check out AS's album covers thus far, I doubt this photo would be in the running. Here's just one sample: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Atlas_Sound_-_Logos.jpg
  9:19pm seang:

my sharona
  9:22pm other david:

heh, point taken
  9:30pm Looms:

this Atlas Sound set was psychedelicly a-w-e-s-o-m-e!
  9:31pm other david:

Agreed Looms, that was a really nice set
  9:31pm other david:

arghh snap!
  9:32pm kat330:

Matches the photo, yes.
  9:34pm kat330:

Taking the digital box to the BR, so keyboard's closed for the eve. Enjoy the rest of Saturday and Sunday everyone!
  9:35pm other david:

Cya kat, nice talking to you as always.
  9:36pm the glowing one:

@DJs: how many WFMU folks really are there in Spain then anyway?
  9:38pm jtm:

whats the big TBA mystery at 11:20? is Katy Perry showing up?
  9:41pm Lydia:

Yeah, Katy Perry's going to sing with Mark Stewart.
  9:41pm Looms:

I bet on Elvis.
  9:41pm momosuke araki jr.:

nice. demdike live.
  9:44pm Marc:

No its One Direction. LOL
  9:47pm Marc:

OR Lipa Schmeltzer from Nachum's show.
  9:51pm Looms:

@Marc: had to googlesearch to know who Lipa Schmeltzer is but that's a good one ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54pm jtm:

whoever TBA is, it better be good.
  9:55pm Marc:

i listen to Nachum Segal when i'm off from work. he was on his show friday. He's on the radio.. 6AM-9AM.
  9:56pm Marc:

Todd Bartholomew Adams.
  9:59pm Ike:

@Marc, a LOT of people here only listen to FMU online, so they have never had the, um, pleasure of hearing Nachum and JM in the AM. Actually, the last few times I caught brief bits of it, I was surprised that the music seems to have improved a lot since the 90s. It used to be truly awful, but in a dismal mediocre way, not in a fun, Incorrect Music kind of way.
  10:01pm Marc:

OHH, ok. i'm sorry.:/ I realize that now that you said it. Sorry again.
  10:04pm Ike:

(??) It's all good. No skin off my knishes.

Anyway, this Demdike Stare is really killer.
  10:04pm groucho:

hello from north east england. been listening to last nights recording all day, just joined in here. sounding great. Pop Group!!!
  10:06pm Andrew Waterloo:

@Ike, it certainly was
  10:06pm Lydia:

Anyone know if The Pop Group set will be archived???
  10:09pm BT:

It will indeed. This is ruling.
  10:09pm groucho:

the TBA is Rufus Wainwright* ... *pure speculation. seriously though, I hope it's Mazzy Star
  10:09pm Marc:

Dr. Zhivago?
  10:10pm Looms (aka Copycat):

Anyone know if the full length Michael Gira's set will be archived???
  10:11pm BT:

it wont, we were allowed 2 songs total.
  10:11pm Looms:

  10:12pm Marmalade Kitty:

anyone else think TBA was a band ?
  10:12pm groucho:

it's gonna be Kings OF Convenience. hella yeah
  10:12pm seang:

i think TBA is James Brown
  10:16pm Marc:

What about the CURE from last night, will it be up on the FMA?
  10:17pm Lydia:

Great to hear, Brian! Thank you all for what you are doing! This is ruling indeed! WE ARE ALL PUTAS!
  10:19pm Lydia:

Whether a band's set can be archived in full or not is function of how cool the band is? ; )
  10:21pm Marc:

TBA is Sammy Davis JR.
  10:24pm Marc:

he's doing a set with Justin Bieber.
  10:26pm Marc:

@Lydia Well put!
  10:27pm Another Guess:

The long-awaited Menudo reunion
  10:28pm Looms:

@Marc: YEAH! And Annie will appear for a wild Hard Knock Life.
  10:28pm Andrew Waterloo:

I thought it was Celine Dion with Brian Eno and the Boston Pops Orchestra
  10:29pm Marc:

Or the LONG AWAITED Beatles Reunion
  10:31pm Andrew Waterloo:

Only John, George, and Ringo are replaced by holographic Paul's
  10:32pm SteveL:

TBA=The Beatles: Androgynous.
  10:32pm Looms:

(btw, this PG reunion set is AAA groovy)
  10:33pm Another Guess:

The guys with Prog Addict tees are pulling for the rumored Yes-ELP-Crimson supergroup
  10:34pm Marc:

dont forget Sammy Davis JR and Justin Bieber.
  10:36pm Progdude4:

i like dfream theetree!
  10:45pm Marc:

Who is Off! never heard of them
  10:46pm BT:

Lydia are you Lydia Lunch haha? she lives in Barcelona so mebbe she's tuned in....
  10:48pm BT:

Off = New band with Keith Morris (Circle Jerks), Steve McDonald (Redd Kross) Dimitri from Burning Brides
  10:49pm Andrew Waterloo:

The Pop Group sounds as good as ever
  10:51pm BT:

Folks, we're sorry to announce the finale TBA is not gonna happen. We had to keep it open as it was being discussed --- sorry. There's a lot of variables involved with bringing these sets and sometimes it doesn't always work out. But a few of the bands are reviewing the recordings for possible airing on WFMU post-Primavera (which happened last year and became specials on specific DJ's shows, so stay tuned.) Thanks for the patience and sorry to fan any flames of people thinking Justin Bieber or Sir Lord Baltimore were gonna play. It'll be Off, then some hangtime with few archival chestnuts then g'nite.
  10:52pm Marc:

WFMU should do next years Marathon ending Hoof and Mouth Symposium at the Primavera Sound Festival. Thats a way to get all the WFMU DJS to Barcelona.
  10:52pm dc pat:

AAAAAH! Pop Group!! fucking forgot till now shit shit shit shit!!
  10:53pm dc pat:

  10:54pm dc pat:

  10:54pm Marc:

  10:57pm dc pat:

  11:09pm SteveL:

  11:11pm Marmalade Kitty:

  11:15pm dc pat:

  11:17pm dc pat:

Circle Jerks were the first hardcore group I saw--another life-changing moment.
  11:18pm Another Guess:

even more life-changing than being bullied by browsers on a comment board, eh?
  11:18pm northguineahills:

I've been listening on and off all day (when I was home). I just want to say, thanks alot.

@Marmalade Kitty: You are very correct.!
  11:20pm dc pat:

  11:24pm Another Guess:

  11:44pm dc pat:

I gotta say, it must be challenging to be in a hardcore group in your 50's. I for one would not attempt that shit...and I'm NOT in my 50's.
  11:46pm dc pat:

Kick ass, thanks FMU.
  11:47pm dc pat:

can't wait to hear TBA..

  12:04am Another Guess:

Joe McG's intro is now starting for the third time???
  1:13pm G:

About Matt Pike and Sleep (a possible health issue was mentioned on this comment page). News today (Monday) is that Sleep did perform the Scion Rock Fest in Tampa on June 2nd 2012. Maybe that's the explanation for the last-minute Barcelona cancelation.
  1:33pm G:

June 2nd is also Pike's birthday.
  8:21am Dex:

Is the Obits set from Parc del Forum or Parc de la Ciutadella ?
  1:06pm c:

OFF! stuff got lags. Please do something.
