Options October 13, 2011: Moscow's ASIAN WOMEN ON THE TELEPHONE make USA Radio Debut [10am]

Asian Women on the Telephone

Named after a Sun City Girls song, Moscow's Asian Women on the Telephone hit all the right psychedelic sun spots and are recent favorite 'round these parts. But while we've heard their international noise underground releases via the Free Music Archive, and witnessed live footage of their overgrown mutant arthropod costumes, this tour marks Asian Women on the Telephone's USA debut! AWOTT swarm the West Coast starting today. Follow them on FMA, myspace, or awott.blogspot.com for our Russian-speaking listeners.

they remind me of a female 100 flowers.
  11:41am jason:

ya Cecile 100 Flowers, maybe they heard the Minutemen?
  11:44am Cecile:

that too, but there's that groove the Urinals and Flowers had that their guitar reminds me of. Maybe even the Wipers were an influence - I looked it up and they were from PDX at the same time. I knew the name, but never heard them. Very cool.
  11:47am olmo:

Think this is the 2nd reissue, I think they were first reissued on Rough Trade.

Cheri, I'm also mentally preparing for the great fake John Baizley album cover for our concept. Gathering pics to trace, steadying my drawing hands.
