Really dug that Wende. Yes, up past my bedtime. Early flight out of Laguardia tomorrow, figured fuck it, visit the Castle, be good and fried maybe get some sleep on the plane.
  12:19am
Robert:

This music is so strange, it sounds sinister but is nifty all the same.
  12:20am
murph:

off to dreamland, nice to have some guides for the ride
  12:22am

I do hear an axe
  12:24am
Wm.:

Wacky Belgians...you know as much as I do about the origins of their name. They sing in Flemish.
  12:26am
murph:

They play sax in Flemish too
  12:28am
Robert:

This show is really great! Turning me on to new things. Thanks!!
  12:28am
Robert:

This show is really great! Turning me on to new things. Thanks!!
  12:28am
T-Zero:

@Robert: I think it's simply a play on the word lugubrious — mournful, dismal, or gloomy in an affected, exaggerated, or unrelieved manner
  12:33am
Wm.:

T-Zero, I tend to agree. These guys are jokesters, though they take their music very seriously. I wrote a piece on them for Beware of The Blog a few years back - http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2008/01/go-flemish---lu.html
  12:35am
Angus Scrimm:

very happy to have just discovered this radio show
  12:40am
T-Zero:

@Robert, yes, legūmen, is the Latin root for the pod OR the vessel of a plant's seed pod, so I suppose it *could* also be a play on the group being a vessel... but I don't think so, I think that'd really be reaching.

@Wm: Thanks.

Good Stuff House INDEED
  12:41am
Angus Scrimm:

is it possible to request a song ???
Black Funeral's "Bathory Incarnate"
  12:44am
Wm.:

Hey Tall Man, I'll see if we have it; don't have my copy with me tonight, though I'm a pretty big fan of BF in general.
  12:46am
Angus Scrimm:

thank you
i really would like a hard copy of that whole album
where'd you find it cause i can't find it anywhere ?
  12:48am
Wm.:

Sadly, no Black Funeral in the library; checked vinyl and CD. I'll bring it with me next week.
  12:51am
Wm.:

Oh, 'twas a long time ago. Maybe Vintage Vinyl in Fords/Woodbridge, NJ? They have a great metal section.
  12:56am
T-Zero:

Have you checked GEMM?
  12:57am
Angus Scrimm:

thnx dude loving the show
  12:59am
T-Zero:

@Wm; No. GEMM is the Global Electronic Music Marketplace. I was asking Angus Scrimm if he'd searched that site to see if anyone was selling it.
  1:00am
Angus Scrimm:

t-zero - i will check never knew about that site
thnx a lot
  1:04am
Rory:

My favorite black metal is coming out of California. Black Twilight forever!
  1:05am
T-Zero:

http://gemm.com/
I searched for Bathory Incarnate and didn't find it. But I didn't dig much.
  1:08am
T-Zero:

Angus Scrimm, GEMM is not a seller but an open marketplace. They've been around for ages.
  1:15am
SiHV:

Wow Kavra. Blistering spasmodic hate. Good shit.
  1:18am
Wm.:

SiHV (and everyone else), I've been trading with the guy from Wohrt Records in Florida. He has a great label, tapes and some vinyl, and it's all good. I highly recommend checking them out; they have a Facebook page, and a regular site that I believe has e-commerce.
  1:34am
T-Zero:

Need to sleep for a bit. Scary good show Wm.
  1:39am
Listener Howard:

What is that playlist photo from? Looks like my mom's side of the family, only they don't look drunk.
  1:41am
Wm.:

Playlist pic >>> Short Night of Glass Dolls, dir. Aldo Lado, early 70s. Classic giallo.
  1:46am
gravy:

Night Train Murders!
  1:46am
Listener Howard:

Will have to look that one up, new to me. Thank you, Sir.
  1:52am
Wm.:

Night Train Murders is awesomely twisted and just plain weird! Great film.
  1:54am
ex:

nicw wibes
  1:56am
Listener Howard:

Been very happy to see some giallo projected on 35mm here lately! Will look up Night Train Murders, too, thanks!
  2:02am
Doug Punnell:

How do you hear of these artists? I don't see them at my record store. Only Limp Biskit and Nickelback, both of whom I'm starting to get bored of.
  2:05am
Wm.:

Doug, there is no one answer to that question. I read a lot of underground "extreme" metal blogs, both of the news type, and free-download type. I also have friends that I swap with, people who run labels as well as fellow intense fans. My ear is firmly to the ground of metal, especially black and grind.
  2:08am
gravy:

I could never get tired of Limp Bizkit and Nickleback.
  2:13am
ex:

i could never get soo stoned
  2:21am
dw:

I wish that Metal Archives had more infos for the artists
  2:26am
dw:

  2:29am

  2:30am
ex:

oh, horror my future relation to people is bound to fail
  2:36am
Wm.:

Why do you say that, ex?
  2:39am
Wm.:

Hopefully, this program is not a harbinger of bad luck....
  2:48am
ex:

thinking about practical construction of each letter in this sentence and what of process that makes letters recognizable to reader and makes their echo to evoke and reverberate into inner feelings that will subconsenquentlly with some intelligence applied to. later come to form understanding & emotionally charge and undoubtelly influence state of his/her mind instinctivly changing perception... of moment .....and forever
  2:53am
Wm.:

No disrespect intended, but perhaps you need only to lay off the crystal....
  2:54am
Wm.:

I do also believe, though, per this week's show title, that I too am "forever charmed, forever gutted," so don't fume too much.
  2:54am
gravy:

Hopefully, this program IS a harbinger of bad luck....
  2:57am
ex:

...near death experiance
  2:59am
Wm.:

I'd rather it be a harbinger of provocation, of all kinds.... You get the luck you ask for....
  3:01am
ex:

luck got nothing to do with reality ..ask ..who?
