  1:03pm
Cheri Pi:

I saw Diamond Head last night! They were great.
  1:04pm

  1:08pm
Cheri Pi:

I think it's down to 1-Brian Tatler.
  1:09pm
Cecile:

But anyone who's played higher-level thrash metal knows all those songs by heart, I'm sure.

Mike East:

People don't play enough rock organ like this anymore.
  1:14pm
Droll:

He wasn't kidding, Deep Purple is turning in an on fire performance. And yes, more soloing than a Yes song. Recording sounds fantastic too!
  1:15pm
Cheri Pi:

This tour wasn't widely publicised and honestly I don't think most people know who they are- it's a damn shame. Catch them if you can for sure.
  1:15pm
Stevel:

Wow. This was the most impressive album, ever, of my young life. (Young then, that is.)
  1:17pm
wilD nEIL:

DP kicks serious butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW. I liked the comment by the guy from Black Flag who said Deep Purple was one of 3 highly influential bands with their...how did he put it? 'Forward Driving'? sound? Along with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, these guys had a HUGE effect on music....I want to get this record now!! They had a prog influence on them , and they also radiated one to other musics, sometimes subconciously....
  1:18pm
efd:

Nice! Early Sammy Hagar representing!
  1:22pm
Cecile:

I'm outtie. have a great day.
  1:26pm
joe:

30 Years later and he still dosen't know one end of a drum kit from the other. :)

  1:32pm
Stevel:

Tell Mr. Gallagher that I am unfamiliar with Raven, but am CERTAINLY going to look into them now. His picks are hitting on more than a few levels.
  1:32pm
Droll:

I'll wager $5 there's a Budgie tune coming up real soon.
  1:39pm
miggs:

..what about label mates Venom?..any cool stories about playing with them?
  1:39pm
joe:

There was so much great music in England in the early 70's that never got it's due in the states
  1:42pm
John Lewis:

I wonder if John ever played with/saw The Pink Fairies.
  1:49pm
Cheri Pi:

Sheesh, JG is SCHOOLING us.
  2:00pm
Bad Ronald:

  2:02pm
uncle dracula:

There's a 7" of a band called Trespast that used pictures of Raven as their band photos, also, I feel like that band The Darkness grabbed some of their sound from Raven. SLEDGEHAMMER ROCK!!!
  2:03pm
wilD nEIL:

  2:08pm
G:

The classical piece at the opening before Parallels is the end of the Firebird Suite, which Yes pumped in over the PA to open concerts for many years.
  2:09pm
G:

I can almost hear the roots of Asia in this 1976-77 song :-(
  2:14pm
G:

"bubble butt man" they call him in the Yes fan community, that dude on the hip gnosis "going for the one" cover
  2:15pm
joe:

Bad delivary but good joke LOL
  2:15pm
G:

Yes are touring with Styx right now. Anderson wanted to do 2-3 concerts a week on tour, and Howe and squire wanted to do 5 or 6. Eventually they fired him and Squire found the cover band singer on youtube
  2:16pm
joe:

*delivery
  2:17pm
uncle dracula:

No Jon Anderson on the new yes album.
  2:19pm
wilD nEIL:

Manufacturing=creation of middle class, now dissapearing from western civilization. Shame, really.
  2:20pm
G:

Yes, their 2001 album Magnification made no money, so Anderson didn't want to do another CD. That was also an issue between him and the others. The new CD, which came out a month or so ago, redid some old Drama-era Buggles material into an epic suite in the 1970s style. It's sold fairly well, better than their late 90s and early 00s releases.
  2:20pm
uncle dracula:

Any earlier recordings pre-Raven?
  2:23pm
joe:

Have to agree with John this and Beyond the Wheel were the highlights of the SG shows.
  2:23pm
fc:

soundgarden's answer to nothing left inside
  2:30pm
joe:

Any chance of maybe getting a Anvil/Raven tour?
  2:37pm
joe:

Thanks John and Diane
  2:50pm
G:

BTW, FWIW the album for that c. 1977 Parallels track isn't Yessongs (a 1973 triple album) but Yesshows (a late 70s double album).
  2:58pm
Stevel:

Stranglers!!! Way to go out of a fantastic set!
