  6:00pm ndbob:

Evening Doug and everyone!
  6:01pm artie:

what show?
oh, there we go!
gabber gabber.
hey.
  6:01pm Doug Schulkind:

Hello ndbob!
  6:01pm listener james from westwood:

whoo, just in time for the start! damn laundry. good tuesday to you all!
  6:03pm Doug Schulkind:

Hey, I was just doing laundry, too.
  6:04pm listener james from westwood:

it was one of those triple-witching laundry days; i was out of everything. even quarters for the laundry!
  6:13pm raissa:

drummer some is really takin the edge off, thanks doug!
  6:13pm Doug Schulkind:

As long as it wasn't one of those triple-H days: Hazy, hot and humdiditty
  6:17pm Paul Sherratt:

>>i was out of everything

Fondly reminds me of a fine Nick Lowe song ' Lately I've let Things Slide ' !
  6:19pm listener james from westwood:

oh, this laundry was sliding all right. ever closer, like the blob. fortunately i was victorious.
  6:24pm Doug Schulkind:

In your pajamas there, Mr. Sherratt? (Clean ones, I hope.)
  6:26pm bleppo:

wfmu calling -funktioniert der google-übersetzungsdienst?
thanks for your fantastic music.
again and again and again...
  6:26pm ndbob:

What a great record here!
  6:26pm Paul Sherratt:

With a growing sense of dread
And a hammer in my head
Fully clothed upon the bed
I wake up to the world
That lately I've been living in
There's a cut upon my brow
Must have banged myself somehow
But I can't remember now
And the front door's open wide
Lately I've let things slide
I go to the bin
I throw the laundry in
And pick out the cleanest shirt
Then I tell myself again
I don't really hurt
Smoking I once quit
Now I got one lit
I just fell back into it
Along with my pride
Lately I've let things slide
I go to the bin
I throw the laundry in
Dig out the cleanest shirt
When all at once I'm seized again
By exquisite hurt
That untouched take-away
I brought home the other day
Has quite a lot to say, the evidence is clear
Only resign piled high and wide
About how lately I've let things slide
I'm just about holding on
But lately I've let things slide
  6:29pm Doug Schulkind:

My pleasure, bleppo! (Please say high to Groucho, Harpo, Chico, Gummo and Zeppo.)
  6:32pm Paul Sherratt:

Still fully clothed on the bed at the moment Doug - had a staff meeting in the local ' Italian ' tonight so I've to allow a period of digestion to take place before searching out those bed clothes !
Great first set, btw and haven't heard this confident Otis Jackson version of ' Tell Me Why ... " before.
  6:34pm Doug Schulkind:

Don't mention Italian. I got the hongries. (And I'm the dinnermaker tonight.)
  6:35pm Paul Sherratt:

And by way of a minor gospel coincidence, a couple of minutes before your showtime, I relocated those Zion Travelers and their grand version of ' The Blood '
  6:39pm listener james from westwood:

Made a few gallons of chili last night. Very strong chance I'll be dipping into that tonight. And for the next couple of weeks!
  6:40pm Doug Schulkind:

Make sure to wear some tight goggles, Listener James, before taking that dip.
  6:42pm listener james from westwood:

it's gonna be like diving in the red sea! the spicy, spicy red sea. but that pasta dish sounds tasty too!
  6:42pm Doug Schulkind:

When's the last time you heard music from Zanzibar? Huh?
  6:43pm ndbob:

it's been nice eating good food here in Baltimore.
  6:44pm Doug Schulkind:

Ndbob, Didja go to Obrycki's? That's always been a must-visit for me.
  6:45pm Doug Schulkind:

Washed down with a coupla those fudge-covered Berger cookies. JEE-sus Christ they are good.
  6:46pm monica:

am b-side myself! great show tonight, doug,
  6:49pm ndbob:

Sure are Doug:) I need to go - will catch the rest on the archives.
  6:49pm Doug Schulkind:

Hey, you better leave the punning to me, Monica. You could injure yourself and others. (!)
  6:49pm ndbob:

Excellent show as always.
  6:50pm listener james from westwood:

holy crow, that was never 50 minutes right there. good music makes the clock disappear!
  6:51pm ndbob:

Nope about Obrycki's, but I did go a couple places for crab cakes, Used to go there when I was growing up.
  6:56pm Doug Schulkind:

First time my parents met my future wife, we Amtrak'd down to Baltimore and met them at an Orioles game (the second to last one ever in old Memorial Stadium) then headed to Obrycki's for crab dinner. It went well.
  6:57pm listener james from westwood:

i visited suburban md for a visit with coworkers to a printing plant once. met for lunch at a local seafood place. one person in our dep't couldn't make the trip, so the crazy sales rep we had barged into the kitchen and returned with a dozen crab cakes in cryo-vac for her.
  6:58pm listener james from westwood:

she's lucky we didn't raid that package on the train ride back!
  7:00pm Doug Schulkind:

And to think...just about three weeks ago, I was boiling lobster in water I scooped out of the ocean, not 100 feet from my cabin on the Maine coast. Where has the damn summer gone?
  7:02pm listener james from westwood:

it's jetting by! a bit scary, really.
  7:06pm listener james from westwood:

i hear the cicadas! little bit o' pitt!
  7:06pm Doug Schulkind:

Like out of a horror film—but friendly!
  7:45pm bleppo:

high groucho, harpo, chico, gummo und zeppo. nice to meet you. but.., karl is he gone?
