  9:18am
Handsome Harry:

"Well, it's a mystery." Great bit.
  9:21am
BSI:

But of course it must be said, those catholic-school jumpers for the girls left psychic scars in many of us...
  9:22am
Parq:

My wife grew up Spanish Catholic in Hell's Kitchen, and she hss confirmed a lot of what Carlin described. Her best story involves the senior parish priest saying Mass, stretching his hands out to give a blessing, heedless of the cigar he was holding in one of them.
  9:22am
hamburger / london:

yay - no Ken / While the tyrant is away the DJ's will play :)
  9:22am
Aaron in JCity:

WOW! Daddy's Hideaway - Awesome treat for Wednesday am!!
  9:22am
helsingfred:

great stuff !
  9:24am
tim:

@Parq: You need confirmation? Consider conversion...
  9:26am
postmanpaul:

JA and Daddy's Hideaway head to head, a wfmu treat to savour....slurp slurp.
  9:27am
john:

"See my beard
ain't it weird?
Don't be scared
it's just a beard"

Carlin
  9:35am
annie:

... and then????
  9:44am
listener mark:

Where's Ken? For crying out loud, one failed apocalypse/rapture and a three day weekend and this place is all bollocks.
  9:47am
moose:

i'm so pleased though that fabio and clay are filling in for 7sd today
love that they've become such a charming duo
  9:49am
hamburger / london:

:) indeed mr. moose
  9:54am
Bill y Jam in the Bay Area:

NOTE: Ken will be on WFMU again this Friday (June 3rd) at 3pm (which is noon local West Coast time) when he will join me and the KUSF IN Exile folks for Part IV in the five part San Francisco remote series. Also out in the Bay Area stopping by and getting on the air for a little bit this Friday will be WFMU's Irene Trudel
  10:10am
listener mark:

Thanks, Billy Jam.
  10:13am
Daniel:

Wow, you actually did it - you fired Gabrielle!
  10:16am
Daniel:

Love the new lady. You got a thing for women of futures past?
  10:19am
tim:

Let's face it, l'homme heroique is so last millennium...
  10:21am
Daniel:

So "grand narrative". Chicks, forward!
  10:21am
helsingfred:

überfantastische !!
  10:28am
Matt from Springfield:

David Andrew Sitek--first time I heard of him!
Great Remix!!
  10:31am
Robert:

Shortly after Jean Shepherd did a bit on air about what movie prod'n is like, a pitch for an imaginary title, "Tentacles", the movie by that name actually came out.
  10:32am
Robert:

It made me wonder whether the phenomenon was a repeat of that of "I, Libertine".
  10:33am
Carmichael:

Good mornin' all.
  10:46am
john:

Good stuff. When is this show usually on? My only suggestion would be a track off the Escape From New York soundtrack.
  10:49am
Handsome Harry:

Great intro on this Cosmos70 track. Really enjoying the show this morning.
  10:49am
Robert:

For now it's usually on when someone else is off, AFAIK.
  10:50am
tim:

Jean Shepherd, man of Tlön?
  10:51am
Matt from Springfield:

Cosmos70, making what could be a supremely creepy PSA with that woman's voice!
  10:58am
Marmalade Kitty:

Nice show Daddy!
  11:00am
Matt from Springfield:

Of course it's Jack Grey, as Danger Mouse is known for his "Grey Album".
  11:05am
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, not just soundtracks, you also can't do voiceovers like that anymore! How I love Rod Serling's skilled intros/outros to all the Twilight Zone episodes, and disappointed that audiences are too ADD to handle monologues nowadays.
  11:05am
Carmichael:

Aaah, The Invaders! What a great scary show for a kid. Roy Thinnes ....
  11:06am
Matt from Springfield:

@MK: Since I was talking to you about PIFs, check out the YouTube account of "Applemask" if you haven't discovered him. He's a guy from Cornwall, not much older than myself, and posts mostly PIFs (with some of the best commentary about them I've seen!)
  11:11am
john:

Matt-if you like monologues check out A Piece of Monologue by Beckett. There is a recording of it on a Scanner record although I don't recall which one.
  11:14am
Matt from Springfield:

@john: Samuel Beckett? I like him, and Lucky's Speech from "Waiting For Godot" is fantastic. I would probably enjoy Beckett delivering a monologue--thanks!
  11:16am
Carmichael:

Room 222!
  11:17am
BDR:

Bang. Whopped with nostalgia stick. Karen Valentine, one of my first crushes.
  11:17am
Matt from Springfield:

Wow, Jerry Goldsmith did the Room 222 theme. I was aware of this show but not familiar with the theme song.
  11:18am
Carmichael:

Man, I'm sitting on the carpet in front of the Zenith (with the works in a drawer) again. Thanks, Daddy!!
  11:19am
Attention Whores:

Who's your daddy?
  11:20am
tim:

Wasn't that a Motorola?
  11:21am
Matt from Springfield:

"Working Woman"! Great new song! Is it new, or just a new comp?

Love the early 70s soul sound! Reminds me of Betty Wright's stuff!
  11:21am
EzSezz:

Also a great CD of the Jack MacGowran who was foremost Irish Beckett actor reading from stories on Claddagh Records http://claddaghrecords.com/WWW/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1598
  11:22am
Matt from Springfield:

Are you out there, Liz Fraser? Sing/vocalize over this beat and you can make this a Cocteau Twins track!
  11:30am
KristNOTferson:

"Help Me Make It Through Ken's Mid-Morning Radio Show Timeslot"
  11:35am
Albanian Hamlet:

Keq me burre e keq pa burre?
  11:39am
Attention Whores:

Ay, there's the rub.
  11:50am
john:

"That's what she said" ?
  11:52am
Matt from Springfield:

Good guitaring--was Johnny H. playing or was that someone else?
  11:54am
Rumor Monger:

Ken is dead. Play the last track backwards.
  11:56am
12539:

Tim, this morning's show has been a most welcome experience.
  11:56am
Rumor Monger:

The playlist picture is Ken in heaven as an angel. He got his own private rapture.
  11:58am
Matt from Springfield:

Great show Tim! Agree with 12539!
I'm always happy to see your show on--keep it up!
  11:58am
Wendy del Formaggio:

Tim! I've been listening while I work, and as usual, it's been most enjoyable. Thanks for this Hank Mancini. I think this is one of the coolest theme songs EVAH.
  12:01pm
Mike East:

we had an orchestra in the studio playing Peter Gunn on Memorial Day. I was pretending I was a spy all day.
  12:01pm
Handsome Harry:

Great show today.
  12:02pm
Aaron in JCity:

  12:42pm
