Listener comments!

  3:04am
Jay / London UK::

good morning just checking in
  3:09am
Ike:

this is good music to accompany an ongoing plumbing catastrophe. The super seems quite intent on dealing with this NOW and not during, say, daylight. So, I get to hear your show!
  3:10am
Marmalade Kitty:

Morning Bill, Ike, Jay and everyone :)
  3:23am
Marmalade Kitty:

Ike, you are at work at this zzzzzhour?? May I ask..?
  3:24am
Bill Mac:

Hey Everybody!
Just wanted to say hello myself.... plumbing problem at 2am Ike? That can't be fun, soundtrack or not!
  3:26am
Steve:

Can't think of any plumbing oriented tune that might help
  3:29am
Ike:

At home. Yeah. not fun. He's yanking out old dishwasher and replacing crumbling rotting pipes. Then water started spewing out and he had to turn off all of the water incl. bathroom. Uh oh. I may pass out on the couch while he works.
  3:31am
SCOTT NY:

the seasonal mice have arrived and i think there is more then one i need more music to drown out the scampering please.
  3:31am
Bill Mac:

Yummy
  3:32am
Marmalade Kitty:

Night owls don't pass out, Ike! Give it a go!
  3:35am
Jay / London UK::

got smog here in london so could not sleep long been up two hours now and its getting hot
  3:35am
larry:

Morning Bill. How about Bangladesh by George Harrison? Wasn't there a flood in that one? Was anyone killed in Ike's accident though?
  3:35am
Jay / London UK::

hey keep the music up we all need it :
  3:36am
Jay / London UK::

and the song before the flood !
  3:36am
Marmalade Kitty:

dreadful plumbing song: Super Mario Brothers - Plumbing song..! =D
Or call Bob the Builder..??
  3:39am
Marmalade Kitty:

If the flood is too bad, call the international submarine band!
  3:40am
larry:

Yes, get the Waterboys in too!
  3:40am
Bill Mac:

You guys are truly reaching!
  3:40am
Ike:

Everyone seems to be alive here. I'm leaking on the downstairs neighbors, that's all. Can't complain too much, since they're OK with cats galloping loudly on their ceiling at 5 a.m. every night.

Ghost is better than Super Mario Bros. for sure!
  3:42am
larry:

Oh, and a song about galloping cats as well?? We'll get back to you on that one.
  3:43am
Looms:

Bonjour Bill and everyone!
  3:43am
larry:

Did you mean 'reaching' or 'retching' Bill?
  3:45am
Bill Mac:

Yes I did!
  3:46am
Jay / London UK::

what both at the same time bill
  3:47am
Bill Mac:

Gotta cover all of your bases in the shortest amount of time
  3:49am
Jay / London UK::

you have a point there bill :)
  3:51am
Bill Mac:

I do? I mean.... yeah!
  3:52am
Marmalade Kitty:

Octopus's garden is an underrated song..
err, yup!?
  3:55am
Bill Mac:

Thank You and Goodnight!
  3:58am
Steve:

Hey, that was Ringo's debut effort!
  4:02am
Bill Mac:

Do I smell a Ringo request in the offing? Speaking of which I happen to have Paul McCartney's Ram on my ipod. Wow... definitely the main talent in the crazy combo
  4:02am
Jay / London UK::

thought it was with a little help from my friends
  4:03am
Steve:

"Boys" was always catchy
  4:05am
Marmalade Kitty:

All we are saying is, give booze a chance!
  4:09am
Ike:

Now the super is sawing pipes and cupboards. Oh well, at least my water hasn't turned black. I've never understood what the frak Zappa is talking about there. How DO you make water turn black? With dirt? Motor oil? Black licorice?
  4:12am
Jay / London UK::

more bozos !!!
  4:12am
PGB:

Go canoeing on a moonless night. That water is black.
  4:13am
Steve:

Black water from smoking loads of pot in the waterpipe was the intent of the lyric
  4:16am
Bill Mac:

That does sound like the gist of it... and my canoe has a hole in it!
  4:20am
Steve:

Ike has probably had enough of water but "Water Song" from Hot Tuna's Burger album is a gem
  4:25am
Marmalade Kitty:

poor Ike! hope you get sorted hon!
  4:29am
Ike:

Eh I've experienced worse. Oh and I'd vote against Hot Tuna. I don't like classick rawk much.

This Ex is great.
  4:34am
Bill Mac:

Hah... Ringo Starr
  4:39am
Yair Yona:

Califone are on of the most amazing bands ever.
  4:45am
todd:

Listening here from Prague this can track is perfect!
  4:46am
Bill Mac:

Hello Yair,
I really should be playing Califone more than I do
  4:46am
Emile:

Wow this Can track is amazing....
  4:47am
Bill Mac:

I think this came out after they'd been together awhile... good stuff!
  4:47am
Bill Mac:

what up Emile!
  4:47am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv):

indeed. I always tell people that If I won't be doing my solo acoustic stuff, I would form a band that will combine Califone and Cul De Sac together.
And btw - fabulous pick with the Can track.
  4:49am
Bas, NL:

Thanks Bill; that Can track made me wake up well!
  4:50am
Emile:

Beautiful morning here in Amsterdam, Bill, made even better by the soundtrack!
  4:50am
Marmalade Kitty:

oh shit, I missed Ringo..!! :0
  4:51am
Bill Mac:

Wow... guess I should stay off the beaten track with the Can stuff... although it's all good...
  4:51am
Bill Mac:

More Bonzos coming...
  4:52am
PGB:

Greetings to Emile. (It's the Zzzzzzero Hour meeting place.)
  4:53am
Emile:

A little tunafish, a little matzah, a little Bill Mac to get the day rolling...
  4:54am
Bill Mac:

Greetings to PGB as well, if it wasn't implied..
  4:55am
Emile:

Hey PGB - nice to 'see' you! Bill Mac's show--where discerning listeners and DJs meet...
  4:56am
Marmalade Kitty:

PGB, what does PGB stand for? If i may be so bold to ask,,:)
  4:56am
Bill Mac:

Will he reveal his true identity?
  4:57am
Steve:

Add bugers to the matzah
  4:57am
Marmalade Kitty:

just curious..
  5:00am
Emile:

How indiscreet to ask!
  5:00am
PGB:

My initials. I adopted those when I was seven. It fit in well with other FMU DJs, if I could be so bold: TKF, FXO, MAC.
  5:01am
Emile:

And yet i am curious, too ...
  5:02am
todd:

Great story on ubu from Zappa re meeting e varese as a kid
  5:02am
Marmalade Kitty:

I'm still curious..
  5:03am
Marmalade Kitty:

  5:08am

  5:22am
Bill Mac:

More about The Books at the bottom of the hour
  5:24am
Ike:

Yeah this is fantastic. And holy crap, this guy (named Israel) finally fixed the pipes and, in the process, fixed my dishwasher too! It's been broken for a looooong time. It's not even their responsibility to do that. Cool. Now I can go pass out and dream sweet dreams of not having to hand-wash anymore.
  5:24am
Bill Mac:

Thanks MK!
  5:26am
Bill Mac:

Awesome, turns out Ike's evening (morning) has ended well. Thanks for the inspiration tonite man. Enjoy the new dishwasher and plumbing!
  5:34am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv):

My thoughts about Hayvanlar Alemi : http://bit.ly/eLB2uI
  5:38am
Bas, NL:

Just ordered The Books; through http://www.thebooksmusic.com/
  5:44am
Bill Mac:

Bas,
You made a good decision on that one... enjoy....
  5:45am
Looms:

I wonder if Brigitte Fontaine really belongs to the humankind (genre humain) but i love her.
  5:47am
Yair Yona (Tel Aviv):

Fontaine is about to release a new covers album, should be interesting like everything she ever did (Bill - do you know her project with Art Ensemble Of Chicago?)
  5:48am
Looms:

Thx for the info, Yair.
  5:49am
Bill Mac:

I didn't know of it but i'm not at all surprised. She's another one of those people I found here
  5:50am
Looms:

  5:58am
Bas, NL:

Thanks for the great sounds Bill!
  3:54pm
Scraps:

Re yr comment on air wondering if Frank O’Toole’s FXO shorthand, whether that the X was actually a middle initial, maybe Xavier. As an ex-catholic myself, I immediately thought “Francis Xavier”, one of the most beloved saints, and still to this day a name that catholic parents give their spawn. So, yeah, I’ll bet plenty of 5 to 2 that’s it.
