  6:09am
Elwyn:

Hey Everyone!

I'm going to put the fruit cups in the blender with the coffee...
  6:10am
eric:

Yes, coffee please...I haven't even had my first cup yet.
  6:10am
Dave B.:

http://www.behance.net/gallery/MICROMACHINA/1022673
  6:10am
Meghan:

*shudders at the idea of the mixing......*
  6:10am
Chuck:

Hehe... And I was just thinking that the fruit cup joke had run it's course...
  6:11am
Elwyn:

@Chuck: Have you managed to destress this week?
  6:11am
hank:

pleased as punch...
  6:11am
Meghan:

Dave, that is kinda awesome!
  6:12am
Meghan:

Wonderful morning to you Hank!
  6:13am
Dave B.:

I thought you'd enjoy it... I like the Racer and the Fighter Plane best.

Greets to all Park Attendees!
  6:14am
Chuck:

Cool! Beetles with Hemmy's!
Sort of, Elwyn. Won't be "out of the woods" until certain projects are done...
  6:14am
hank:

And to you Meghan .. faithful
  6:15am
Elwyn:

@Dave: They look like Insecticons!

@Chuck: How many projects are you balancing at the moment?
  6:17am
Dave B.:

And I had no idea the Beatles were going to be in that first set...
  6:18am
Chuck:

5, Elwyn. 2 have to get done first and at the same time. I've only got two hands....
  6:23am
Elwyn:

OK. I bet this set's theme will be
a) boy begs girl to be his girlfriend
b) boy begs for a kiss
c) boy begs for sex
d) girl dumps boy, boy begs for her to come back
e) boy turns out to be a psycho and she begs for her life
  6:24am
Meghan:

Oh my god Elwyn...... that was the best! You just had me laughing wicked hard.....
  6:25am
Chuck:

Never mind the cheese! This one is covered in syrup!
  6:26am
?:

Bonjour everybody, Bonjour Meghan, "S'IL VOUS PLAÃŽT" is the theme of the day !!!
  6:26am
Dave B.:

@Elwyn - the theme is "PLEASE" not "BEG"
  6:28am
Dave B.:

but that was good, none the less....
  6:28am
pierre:

pardon the "S'IL VOUS PLAÃŽT" message has its author now.
  6:28am
Elwyn:

@Dave: I know. She's saying "Please don't kill me!"
  6:31am
Dave B.:

So far, it sounds like the musical set up to a John Hughes film or something
  6:32am
Meghan:

hehe.... I had a feeling it was you Pierre
  6:35am
Elwyn:

So do you think Meghan hasn't gotten over her return to 80s films? Has she discovered a different film where Amanda Wyss plays the same stereotypical heartbreaking b*****?

For Dave, Chuck and anyone nerdy who likes motorcycles::
http://www.udreplicas.com/all-products/

Coincidentally, I'm going to a costuming expo this weekend. I'm going to become so broke. I know the actors appearing at these things charge for photos. :-(
  6:37am
Meghan:

I only like the 80's ones... not the remakes. Those irk me
  6:37am
Chuck:

I have a motorcycle, Elwyn. It hasn't run in years though. I've been trying to sell it....
  6:39am
Chuck:

Holy crap! The prices on the suits, Elwyn!
  6:40am
Dave B.:

Years back I saw Wyclef Jean in Times Square on his Spidey Chopper.

I wonder if that ruined his chances at sealing his run for Presidency of Haiti

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BLXZxYY6_v0/SwXHIV8-mLI/AAAAAAAACk8/2oapuTeifMs/s1600/wyclef.jpg
  6:43am
Elwyn:

Nice bike!

It still amuses me that my ex-housemate spoke about getting a bike for 3 years then finally bought one, rode it once or twice (it had lots of problems with the battery losing charge), realised he liked life too much and never wanted his girlfriend to want to go on it and sold it
  6:45am
pierre:

Wyclef Jean on a Spiderman Bike, this is a postmodern world.
  6:46am
Chuck:

Hank Williams always delivered...
Ostentatious ride to say the least, Dave. I prefer a low profile on mine (so the cops pay no notice, hehe...)
  6:48am
Dave B.:

Meghan, OK to kill the Dropbox "PLEASE" folder?

I had a KZ-700 years ago. Miss that scooter... The only other motorcycle I ever lusted over was a friends Honda CBX. A 1000cc 6 cylinder beast!
  6:49am
Meghan:

kill away
  6:50am
Elwyn:

I've got to duck out for an hour. I left my mobile phone at work and need dinner!
  6:51am
Rob from Maryland:

Good morning. Please forgive me. I overslept. I'm also just passing through.
  6:51am
Chuck:

Check ya in a bit, Elwyn...
  6:52am
Meghan:

Good morning Rob! Mornings are usually a passing through, but it is always nice to get my hellos!
  6:52am
pierre:

Of course Clyde McPhatter !!!
(his greatest hits are always on my turntable)
  6:52am
annie:

Puleeeze!
  6:53am
Meghan:

hehe... morning Annie!
  6:54am
Rob from Maryland:

True. Usually I'd be here for an hour or so but for the first time since last Thursday I am stopping at FMU instead of going straight to the world news.
  6:54am
Chuck:

Wonderful that Wanda is still making records in her 70s!
Morning, Annie...
  6:56am
Meghan:

You need background music for your news reading!
  6:58am
Rob from Maryland:

I do. But eventually the live feed is going to come on.
  7:06am
Skirkie:

Hey so is Bosco actually co-hosting right now? He's updating the playlist, right?
  7:07am
Dave B.:

@Bosco: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/47/153603564_7281ad0588.jpg
  7:08am
Meghan:

fjkl;fgjkl;fgjkl

that was him.... he's got bad grammatical errors.....
(he's here with me each week!)
  7:15am
Dave B.:

He's all paws....
  7:15am
Meghan:

Dave Bosco only saw

Blah Bosco: Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah.....
Love Larson...
  7:19am
dirty old man:

Good morning Meghan/Bosco. Thanks to you and Dave B, for the downloads. Since I've received my first Social Security check this week, how about a "all you young people keep working to support us geezers in our golden years" theme. Please?
  7:19am
Dave B.:

@G'Kar... http://shakingthetree.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/cats_hear-color.gif
  7:24am
Chuck:

Need to catch up on comments. Had to go downstairs and get some laundry started (haven't done it in over a month)....
  7:27am
Dave B.:

Sharing is Caring DoM. Cheese has been delivered then? Is it OK to pitch that from online storage, to make room for the next batch?
  7:28am
Meghan:

back to normal... i hope. was just told the computers upstairs are acting up too. fun fun. Gotta get the quirks out now before the next 2 weeks!
  7:28am
Chuck:

Ha! Not far off the mark, Dave. Though G'Kar only becomes "deaf" when he's hunting. I should say cats have selective hearing...
  7:29am
Dave B.:

I always hear that: "Dogs have owners. Cats have staff"
  7:30am
Dave B.:

@Meghan - try this at the next break:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yK7J23itKs&NR=1
  7:32am
Chuck:

To paraphrase John Wayne in the film "True Grit": "No one OWNS a cat. You just decide if you want to be roomies."
  7:33am
dirty old man:

Dave B: yup, toss it. Thanks.
  7:34am
pierre:

is that what we are going to say to you when your show will be over : "Meghan please don't go" ? (sorry for sounding a bit familiar)
  7:34am
Meghan:

nope..... didn't work. Guess it's gotta be at home for him to lose it.....
  7:35am
Chuck:

By extension I will add: "No one can OWN another living thing. It's pretty much against the laws of nature."...
  7:36am
Meghan:

I only hope you say that Pierre!
  7:37am
pierre:

will do :)
  7:39am
pierre:

will do :)
  7:45am
Chuck:

Except for the Rush song "Marathon", Meghan. hehe....
  7:46am
Meghan:

exactly!
  7:47am
pierre:

"She Comes Running" by the marvelous Lee Hazelwood should do it, shouldn't it. And of course, the "walk, don't run" song by many artists, there also a cover by the Mermen called : "Run, don't walk"
  7:50am
pierre:

oh thanks for Johnny Kidd
  7:50am
Chuck:

"We'll Be Running" by the DC5! And for some cheese "Run, Joey, Run" by David Geddes....
  7:50am
Meghan:

Yep! Those all work!
  7:50am
Skirkie:

How about that Rush s...oh.
  7:51am
Meghan:

*giggles*
  7:53am
Chuck:

Oh, yeah, "Fox On the Run" by The Sweet...
  7:54am
Meghan:

Oh there are more! I want the first one most..... http://www.recordstoreday.com/NewsItem/2301
  7:54am
Meghan:

did Fox on the Run for the Noah's Ark theme....
  7:56am
Chuck:

The album version or the 7" version? They're quite different...
  7:58am
Meghan:

Not sure.... but let's remember, I don't play as much music as I normally do during marathon!
  7:59am
Chuck:

Understood...
  7:59am
hank:

seen rush & max webster in old highschool gym fly by night tour.....
  8:00am
Chuck:

Woohoo! Love The Donnas!
  8:02am
Dave B.:

  8:03am
Elwyn:

  8:06am
Dave B.:

  8:07am
pierre:

  8:08am
Chuck:

  8:08am
Elwyn:

@Pierre: Yeah, I hear he just gets some everytime.
  8:09am
pierre:

  8:10am
hank:

  8:11am
pierre:

  8:11am

  8:13am

Pat Benatar isn't a bad thing.... she's got the 80's cheese factor
  8:14am
pierre:

@ Elwyn: have you seen the movie ?
  8:15am
Chuck:

Oh, so many versions of this song! All so great!
  8:16am
hank:

ex loved her... bless her soul;...
  8:16am
Chuck:

Think my first load of wash has cycled. Back in a few...
  8:17am
Elwyn:

@Pierre: Nope. I have read that he's slept with thousands of women.

@Dave: no need to feel shame for your love of 80s pop-rock... which leads me to:

@Everyone:
I saw Belinda Carlisle on Sunday night. It was a really good concert. Her voice was great, she looked great etc.

One thing I found interesting was that *every* song was a major single for her except for the encore which was two Go-Gos hits and "Heaven is a Place on Earth". Absolutely no new songs. It was like a live "Best of".

I almost feel confused about that. I know - I'm weird. I mean I love all those songs. I'm just not sure how to feel that she's become a live greatest hits package.
  8:18am
Dave B.:

I wish I could find Fishbone doing their version of "Running With The Devil" entitled "Running With Your Pants Off"

In their early days that and "Alcoholic" used to destroy.
  8:24am
Chuck:

A lot of artists are like that, Elwyn. That's why they end up in Las Vegas. Some new material from her would be a great thing though!
  8:29am
Elwyn:

I guess it was the first time I'd seen an artist who hadn't put out new material in awhile but was still touring.

I really wanted to see Huey Lewis and the News last year and they haven't put out new material for ages. However, their tour was cancelled and there were some really vocally angry fans. The official reason was they had to go back to the recording studio. However, I am certain the $150/ticket price tag was excessive and exploitive of 80s nostalgia. That's why I decided not to go. The organiser of the tour seems to try to organise quite a few nostalgia tours at exhorbitant prices. (Again, the reason why I skipped Devo with Cheap Trick.)

Belinda was $55. I'd happily pay that again.
  8:33am
Chuck:

I'm not sure what the exchange rate is between Australian dollars and American. Doesn't sound like a bad price for a show though....
  8:33am
Chuck:

The Belinda show that is. The others you mention is prohibitive...
  8:36am
Chuck:

Of course, the best one I've been to was a Little Steven's Garage show. $20 to see 43 different bands all day! Now that was a deal!
  8:37am
Elwyn:

At the moment, the US and the Australian dollar are almost the same. It's been pretty good for us to import stuff for the last year or so and to sponsor WFMU. :-)
  8:37am
hank:

@Chuck we used to figure ways to rush em.... ;^)
  8:38am
Jim Devoid:

By any chance, is there a possibility of the DICKIES 'Pretty Please Me"? Please?
  8:38am
Chuck:

Why, whatever do you mean, Hank?
*snicker*
  8:40am
Meghan:

Let me see what I can do Jim......
  8:41am
Chuck:

Although I've always adored Alison's voice I thought this was an odd pairing of singers. But, WTF, it WORKS!
  8:46am
glenn:

it works really well. and the band is fantastic, especially drummer extraordinaire jay bellerose.
  8:49am
Chuck:

I know, Glenn! I have the album...
  8:53am
glenn:

i saw sam phillips in toronto 3 years ago, with jay b. on drums. i couldn't believe how great he was. go see him play if you get the chance.
  8:55am
Chuck:

We'll see what happens, Glenn. Not to many really great acts appear in my area....
  8:55am
Jim Devoid:

woo hoo!
  8:56am
Chuck:

Meg, there is no 'c' in Stuka as far as I know... Sorry to be knit picky....
  8:56am
Meghan:

The CD was acting strange at first, so I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to get it in.....
  8:57am
pierre:

yeah ! Violent Femmes !
i remember posting this one on UWTP facebook page, althought i guess it was quite obvious for you to choose. i love this song, thanks.
  8:57am
Meghan:

My fingers have not been able to type all day. I have been back spacing the entire time!
  8:58am
Dave B.:

Gotta "run"

See y'all next week!
  8:58am
Chuck:

No worries. Time to get going for the day. Great show, Meg!
  9:00am
pierre:

Meghan please don't go ! ; )
  9:00am
Parq:

Miss Meg, please forgive me for not joining the comment party, but I've been listening, and it's been quite pleasing.
  9:01am
Meghan:
