Listener comments!

  9:08am eric:

Hey, Scott! Happy Friday. Looking forward to it as always!
  9:15am Scott:

  9:16am annie:

i'm here, not for long, but i'm here
  9:29am Pat in Philadelphia:

Hi Scott! Love that Hipnosis track. Never heard it until your show. I've been trying to track down some info about it and though you attribute it to Grachan Moncur III I've only found it on the Jackie McLean album of the same name which Moncur plays on. So is the version you play from the McLean album or a different version Moncur recorded for a solo album? Love the show!
  9:31am Scott:

No it's the same version - I just play it off the Moncur Mosaic box set so that's how I attribute it.
  9:32am bennett4senate:

scott, that was Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors, not Pyramid song. ;) was feeling it... I feel like I've somehow grown into the weirdness of that track...
  9:35am Scott:

Ah thank you! Corrected!
  9:38am Pat in Philadelphia:

Thanks for the info, Scott!
  9:52am Cecile:

How did you know, Scott?
  9:52am Cecile:

Normally I'd take snow over cold, but you know, I'm sick of snow. It's cold but I won't have a 2 hour trip home tonight.
  10:00am Dog-Faced Boy:

This Double Leopards is nothing shy of perfect for my Friday Morning cubicle shuffle. Brilliant.
  10:09am procedura:

uh oh, the Aleister boyz're in da house
  10:09am Dog-Faced Boy:

That last transition pretty much EXPLODED my head all over the place. More brilliance!
  10:11am Scott:

One exploded head, brains everywhere --> mission accomplished!
  10:18am CheriPi:

sorry I'm late to the board-snow delays.
  10:25am Cecile:

snowboard delays? :D
  10:28am CheriPi:

Snowman delays!
  10:32am annie:

man, snow delays
  10:34am CheriPi:

I have to get this Wm Parker Cd...
  10:44am procedura:

Baobab's are driving, riding...
great track
  10:49am Chuck E. Jesus:

  10:50am Scott:

It's spoon playing!
  10:52am Carmichael:

Happy Beginning of weekend, Scott and people of popularity.
  10:55am Carmichael:

I love a good organ player. Now I have an urge to roller-skate.
  11:02am Cecile:

  11:09am Dead Corporate Eyes:

hey-yo peeps...nice warm jazz for a cold cold morning
  11:22am Mike East:

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday!
  11:25am Phil:

Ho Bynum / Hebert / Cleaver, Book of Three
I can not find this online to buy are the names spelled correctly?
  11:26am Handsome Harry:

This Sun City Girls track is absolutely spectacular. Fantastic show today.
  11:27am Scott:

Taylor Ho Bynum / John Hebert / Gerald Cleaver - try the RogueArt site maybe?
  11:27am dc pat:

dang...SCGirls are a-mazing.
  11:31am dc pat:

what do y'all think of this list of 10 "Greatest Composers" http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/23/arts/music/23composers.html?_r=1&hp

Mostly predictable but guy makes good points. Bartok got in there, Shostakovich shoulda..
  11:33am The Internets:

(Phil: Squidco has the Taylor Ho Bynum disc)
  11:37am Handsome Harry:

The NYTimes list didn't disappoint me like I thought it was going to disappoint me. I don't think Beethoven deserves the #2 spot, but what do I know. Overall it wasn't terrible.
  11:39am jill:

is there a blog somewhere out there where i can pull this Takehisa Kosugi from?
  11:42am dc pat:

I kind of agree w/ Bach being #1, you can't really knock him. Not sure about Beethoven either. I don't give a flying f--- about Brahms but I guess I should.
  11:43am Dead Corporate Eyes:

  11:46am Scott:

jill - ask and you shall receive. thanks DCE.
  11:47am jill:

I see that - you kids sure are neat.
Thank you!!!
  11:48am Dead Corporate Eyes:

I spend copious amounts of my workday looking for the music I hear here...working on filling a huge hard drive w stuff that I might never get to hear again...
  11:49am Dead Corporate Eyes:

o/c, don't ya know
  11:50am Cecile:

I'm dozing off, I'm too relaxed by this music.

Personally, I really like Chopin myself. And, Brahms wrote some really gorgeous music.

I'll be back for Billy Jam. Later!
  11:51am BDR:

Pere Ubu! Best. Band. Ever.

And still.
  11:51am ironchef:

Ubu Roi!
  11:52am john:

sound quality seems a little off on this pere ubu track - probably just me noticing the 128kbps on a song I know well though.
  11:53am Ike:

Yeah thanks DCE. That's awesome. Loved that track.
BTW where's Doug's competing show this morning?
  11:53am Scott:

It's from the vinyl, john
  11:56am tomasz.:

The mighty Fall!
  11:57am Scott:

Can't take a photo of an mp3... yet. http://twitpic.com/3s27ct
  11:59am john:

oh I meant the 128k stream, not that you were playing mp3s. Anyway, I wish I had that LP. Who cares if dave thomas hates vinyl :)
  12:06pm Scott:
