Listener comments!

  6:02am
Chuck:

Good Day! Feed us, Meghan!
  6:02am
Dave B:

Jet lag stinks. Turkey will wipe me out later.

Gobble gobble!
  6:03am
Chuck:

Morning, Dave! Have fun?
  6:03am
Meghan:

Good Morning guys! Happy Thanksgiving! Welcome back Dave!
  6:05am
Dave B:

Absolutely! Good seeing friends, catching up on museums that I overlooked in the past... And in melancholically good to be home. (nat king Cole sure helped too!)
  6:07am
Meghan:

Too bad I don't have t-shirts or stickers or buttons for you to go over and spread the word! hehe
  6:07am
Chuck:

Funny GIF, Meg! Launch all pilgrims!
  6:08am
Elwyn:

Happy thanksgiving everyone!
  6:08am
Chuck:

Yo, Dude! How was the B-day?
  6:09am
Meghan:

Hey there Elwyn!
  6:13am
Dave B:

I was sport in my woof moo shirt. When asked, I told... "the greatest station in the nation"

Greets Elwyn!

Scooped some tunes at 12 Tonar. Gotta get home to listen. (my brother is cooking bird, so I came straight out here from JFK) been up since 3
  6:14am
Meghan:

Did I see that you stopped over in Iceland? Did you take Iceland Air?
  6:14am
Chuck:

Are you off work tomorrow, Dave? Crash hard! The triptephan (sp?) should help...
  6:16am
Elwyn:

@Chuck: I don't really care that much. I think I'm just getting old. It's really nice that people say "Happy birthday" though.
A friend convinced me to organise a dinner on Sat night.

@Meghan: Do Thanksgiving meals traditionally have as much cheese as you're going to play tonight? :-)
  6:17am
Meghan:

hehe... hmmm depends on the family....
  6:17am
Chuck:

Know what you mean, Elwyn. To me it's just another day especially now that I'm officially "middle aged". Whatever the f**k that means...
  6:19am
Dave B:

No work til Monday, thankfully! Tomorrow seeing jj grey and moor. And yep, Icelandair is my favorite way in and out of Europe!
  6:20am
Meghan:

It is a great way to get over there.... the tickets are so cheap... or at least they were the last I had checked!
  6:21am
Chuck:

Good for you, Dave! Unfortunately I have to put in some work time today. As well as cook and I'm dog sitting for my landlord...
  6:21am
Dave B:

Moor = mofro

Darned iPad correcting my typing.
  6:22am
Elwyn:

Oh Dave... another Apple product...
  6:22am
Dave B:

499 roundtrip to Paris with the 3 day layover on the way home. Cannot be beat...
  6:23am
Chuck:

That's Vincent Price! Awesome...
  6:24am
Andy in Berlin:

I'm here and getting hungry for lunch!
  6:24am
Chuck:

Morning, Andy!
  6:25am
Chuck:

Can you even fit 14 people in your place, Meghan?!
  6:26am
Dave B:

Elwyn, this has been fixed... No more auto suggest.
F.U. Steve jobs...

And i need that ECC album...
  6:26am
Andy in Berlin:

Morning Chuck!

Hey Megan, I hope you remembered my suggestion for Hungarian Gulash #5 by Allen Sherman from...whenever that was when we were first doing this.
  6:28am
Elwyn:

I love this speech!
  6:29am
Meghan:

HA! I didn't! Sorry Andy!!!
  6:36am
Dave B:

Hey, will this archive be up in time for dinner?
  6:36am
Chuck:

Looking at moon songs in my library. Several versions of "Blue Moon of Kentucky"...
  6:38am
Meghan:

Yep, the archives are usually up a few hours after the show.... Might be slightly delayed due to holiday, but not by much I think...

I did Blue Moon of Kentucky already.... either for the Blue or State theme....
  6:41am
Chuck:

Well there is "Bad Moon Rising" by CCR. But I always think of "An American Werewolf in London" when I hear it... hehe...
  6:44am
Dave B:

Dont have access to my library, but on the ipod

Symarip - skinhead moonstomp
Tame impala - latenight moonlight
Captain beyond - as the moonspeaks...

More once i get home...
  6:45am
Chuck:

And at least you're not cutting out like last week, Meghan! That was so damned annoying!
  6:45am
Elwyn:

I always just assumed the archiving was automated.
  6:46am
Elwyn:

Speaking of turkeys, do you have the term "turkey slap" in the USA?
  6:49am
Chuck:

First time I'm hearing that one, Elwyn. What's it mean "down under"?
  6:49am
Elwyn:

Darn it! Where's Meghan's brother when we want to hear the crazy stupid stuff that Meghan did as a kid?!?!??!!
  6:50am
Dave B:

Hehe.. First pass of the BBQ show had this as the lead song.
  6:52am
Meghan:

Sadly I was tame as a kid.... Though I am sure my brother could think of stupid crap I did....
  6:54am
Dave B:

Now i'm sceered...
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=turkey%20slap
  6:55am
Chuck:

Is the Rev. Horton Heat's "Eat Steak" making this show, Meg?
  6:56am
Chuck:

Eww! I could have lived without this information!
  7:05am
Dave B:

Sorry bout that...
  7:08am
Chuck:

Ha! "Gotta hit 'em in the head. Gotta hit 'em real hard." This song always cracks me up!
  7:11am
Elwyn:

@Meghan:
I forgot to request Neil Young & Crazy Horse: T-Bone
  7:13am
Chuck:

They need to come to the Hudson Valley too!
  7:13am
Dave B:

Wasn't a turkeyslap, thats for sure.
  7:14am
Meghan:

Yeah... you just need to travel to a city Chuck.... it's hard to draw a good crowd in the woods...
  7:16am
Chuck:

There Poughkeepsie and Newburgh as well as Kingston here. Much closer than Manhattan...
  7:18am
Chuck:

This song always made me grin too...
  7:18am
Dave B:

In all seriousness...

Outbound from JFK i think i left before all the groping hit the news. Basically the same procedure, shoes off, metal in a bin, standard metal detector.

Coming into iceland, the same, which baffeled me. Did the expect something to change in flight?

Outbound from paris, my traveling watercolor set raised some hackles, until i explained as best i could what it was, showing them the painints i did...

All in all, iceland is a breeze to get in and out of. One airline to deal with...
  7:22am
Chuck:

Maybe they thought people were stealing parts of the airplane, Dave! And I didn't know you did watercolors. Good for you! I haven't painted in years...
  7:24am
Dave B:

Chuck RHH is in clifton park between the brooklyn and manhattan shows
  7:24am
Chuck:

I keep wanting to get back into painting, but there never seems to be any time...
  7:25am
Dave B:

I'll post a few of the sketches to the book soon.
  7:25am
Jeff:

Ma ma ma chicken pot pie! Your brother is still sleeping so we'll have to play the archive for dinner tonight.
  7:25am
Chuck:

Where's Clifton Park? NJ?
  7:26am
Dave B:

NY up by Saratoga!
  7:31am
Dave B:

Yum!
  7:32am
Chuck:

As Chris Rock put it, "What you mean don't eat red meat! F**K that! Don't eat no GREEN meat!"... hehe...
  7:34am
Dave B:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3HviOc0p80
  7:35am
Dave B:

@chuck - he dont eat no meat!?!

Thats ok, i make lamb
  7:37am
Meghan:

I don't eat cow... but I did have lamb yesterday for lunch.... but that is rare for me to have lamb....
  7:38am
Dave B:

The lamb in iceland is delicious!

http://www.djmick.co.uk/images/2010/04/Kickboxing-Orangutans-4.jpg
  7:38am
Chuck:

Just don't get mutton. It tastes "funky" to me...
  7:39am
Elwyn:

I wish I hadn't seen that body scan picture. It looks like the lady is urinating while standing.
  7:39am
Meghan:

That is why I avoid eating lamb.... it usually tastes funky to me.... Find those tight rope walking elephants!
  7:40am
Chuck:

Mutton is the meat from an old sheep. Lamb is a young one. There's a definite difference, at least to me...
  7:41am
Dave B:

Presto!

http://arbroath.blogspot.com/2010/11/elephants-forced-to-walk-across.html
  7:43am
Chuck:

Dave always comes through!
  7:44am
Meghan:

This is why I call on dave.... he's so damn good at it!
  7:45am
Dave B:

Google-fu, to quote jeff p.
  7:46am
Meghan:

  7:49am
jorge:

  7:52am
Dave B:

  7:54am
Meghan:

wow! Peru! Hola y Buenas Dias Jorge!
  7:54am
Elwyn:

Yay! I <3 this song... but still don't know how to make decent gravy.
  7:55am
dirty old man:

Can't believe I slept thru "Fish Heads"
  7:56am
Chuck:

You need the "BBB", Elwyn! The brown bits on the bottom of the roasting pan...
  7:57am
Meghan:

I can't believe you slept through Fish Heads either! for shame!
  8:03am
Chuck:

Everyone who cooks should really have a copy of "The Complete Joy of Cooking", preferably the 3rd edition which may be hard to find now. The 4th edition is out, but it's not as good. It's my "kitchen bible"!
  8:10am
Chuck:

Everything is better with gravy or bacon!
  8:12am
Dave B:

Did bring back some good vin from france. And today's my brother chris' birthday. We're listening outside by the fire, give a shout next break
  8:15am
Meghan:

grrrr, dave why won't it let me post this You Tube?
  8:16am
Chuck:

I don't like much rap, but I love this one! Tired of vegans getting on me for eating meat!!! I don't do that sort of thing to them!!!
  8:16am
Dave B:

Not sure... Listening and commenting via the iphone app...

Will figure it out next week
  8:18am
Meghan:

That was from ALF.... I loved it when I heard it. Great request!
  8:18am
Dave B:

Did Zappa's "call any vegetable" make this set?
  8:19am
Dave B:

Do i have to spell it out?

C h e e s e a n d o n i o n s oh no!
  8:19am
Meghan:

awwww, no it didn't.....
  8:26am
BillyJam:

  8:27am
Chuck:

Wouldn't be Thanksgiving without the cranberries!
  8:28am
Chuck:

What's for dessert, Meg?
  8:30am
Dave B:

Brewing up some gluhwein.
  8:32am
Chuck:

What's that, Dave?
  8:32am
Meghan:

Ahhh that is why you are by a fire.... I was trying to figure that out...

Morning Billy! Happy Turkey Day to you too!
  8:33am
Elwyn:

@Meghan: It's happy stories like these that make me almost glad I'm single.
  8:33am
Dave B:

Your basic mulled wine, german style. I probably spelled it wrong. Andy?
  8:34am
Meghan:

Well, think of it this way.... if you are going to call your lady a fat dumb bitch.... you most likely shouldn't be with her. Basic common sense, though most people lack that....
  8:35am
Dave B:

Chris is deep frying the bird this year. In the event of an uncontrollable flare up, we kick it into the creek and go out for chinese....
  8:37am
Meghan:

Here's that You Tube video for all you vegetarians out there....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahx4q58PBVE&feature=related
  8:38am
Chuck:

Be careful, Dave! I've heard of people setting fire to the house deep frying a turkey!
  8:43am
Dave B:

Correction, its an electric fryer with no oil! Still he's on a creek onthe south shore of long island. Maybe a boat ride later
  8:45am
Chuck:

Oh, I thought you meant one of those large vats for deep frying that have come into vogue. I'll be be doing the standard roast up with stuffing, of course...
  8:50am
Chuck:

I've heard that some families include a lasagne or baked ziti for Thanksgiving. Must be an Italian thing...
  8:50am
Elwyn:

Meghan, you need a show dedicated to healthy food as part of the detox for this weeks' gluttony!
  8:51am
Dave B:

I always think of andie mcdowell singing her "pie" song in the movie "michael"
  8:52am
Chuck:

Ha! That's why I refer to Thanksgiving as "The Great American Pig-Out", Elwyn!
  8:57am
Dave B:

I'm thankful for making it thru another year.
  8:58am
Chuck:

That's it! I haven't even started prep! Enjoy the holiday everyone!!!
  8:58am
Dave B:

Your just deserts
  8:58am
Elwyn:

I wonder if Meghan was going to play Warrant's Cherry Pie even though it's not actually about cherry pie. :-)
  8:59am
Meghan:

HA! and NO!
