  10:50am
Scott:

Nice tip - will have to check that one! Thanks.
  11:06am
dave:

nice segue, that.
  11:06am
Mike East:

Speaking of loud clanging percussion, there was a Gamelan ensemble in our rehearsal space last night and they left all their large percussion (gongs, etc.) in the room and expected us to move it out for them and store it...only they never mentioned that to us.
  11:07am
Mike East:

me and 3 other guys had to get it out of there and set up for 100 person chorus that started an hour later.
  11:34am
Cecile:

wow, that's crazy, Mike.
  11:37am
Mike East:

I could have just taken it all and put it on the street...or sold it. I don't know why anyone would leave such big ornate, obviously expensive and hard to replace gear somewhere without checking it if was alright. Kinda blew my mind.
  11:40am
Cecile:

That sounds so weird for a gamelan orchestra. Part of my friends' requirement for playing in the UMich ensemble back in college was to be ready to pack it all up.
  11:42am
Mike East:

I guess these guys didn't go to that school. Really cool sounding instruments, though. I stuck my head inside of one of the big pitched gongs...
  11:48am
Cecile:

HA! I figured the Charles Tyler track was a tribute to the great Steve Lacy.
  7:00pm
mike tp:
