A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Trouble, everything about your show is enchanting and enjoyable: the music, your fresh giggling, your French Canadian/Maine Ornithology in the Wild record (?) you play in the background . . . just wonderful!

That requests some The Fall!
  10:10am
dc pat:

it was ok. done in a Patty Smithy sort of way. Nice scenes of her with her parents. Lots of info lacking though. Didn't go into Fred Smith/MC5 at all. And all the recent performances were only 2 or 3 songs. Worth a watch though--don't know if viewable elsewhere.
  10:13am
annie:

i agree with you trouble; i am boycotting all "best of" lists.. and i like that irwin napped through the list making.

I saw bits of the P(B)S doc and thought how styiized - who knew standing in a train terminal with your kid waiting for a train could look so cool.
  10:24am
dc pat:

Roland P. Young:

Happy New Year! Thanks for great shows in 2009 and looking forward to a grateful 2010!
  11:17am
annie:

scott, i probably won't see it anytime in the theaters. too far from that madding crowd to participate. i'll wait til it hits the torrents or sommat. the reviews have been all over the spectrum.. alot of my vegan friends are up in arms about the representation of "non-mammalian" creatures and are calling it specie-ism and all other sorts of vile names.. it's just a movie for god's sake! on the flip-side,there are those who just love the shit out of it!
  11:20am
annie:

trouble, i'll say it now and get it out before i get involved in another project: there are a handful of shows on fmu which i cannot bear to miss. archives ain't the same as real-time trouble, to be sure!! your show is in that handful which just blow me away with tenderness and feeling! and the birds.. omg, the birds. need i say more, eh?
  11:21am
warbler:

The birds rule!
  11:21am
