  3:43pm Cecile:

This whole spoken bit reminds me of Bait Car:
"I was just moving the car for this lady who asked me to!"
  3:44pm Carmichael:

"You won't even apologize to a witch!"
  3:46pm BSI:

That was definitely the most quotable FMU moment since Corn Weenie...... or ANY Kenny G show....
  3:50pm v k:

i miss Kenny G
  3:51pm bennett4senate:

straight EPMD soundtrack to Waiting to Export (Final Cut Pro Edition)
  3:52pm v k:

i also really miss "theory of everything" - still trying to get over the schedule change on that one
  3:58pm Cecile:

I listened to Ben's new show and it was pretty great.
  4:00pm v k:

i liked new show too - but will miss all the new songs he drilled into my head over a 3hour program
  4:01pm Cecile:

very true, and the amazing comics!
  4:05pm v k:

overall, i assume BW's passion is for a less traditional program (e.g., Dusty Show), hence the move; who knows real reason; whatever it is, i remain supportive
  4:05pm nun attax:

Wicked show: top drawer , off the map ..hook etc rocking in A flat!!!
superunfrontable !!!!!!!
  4:05pm Ike:

Yeah the new show was excellent but I agree with VK that the great musical choices will be missed. There's not another DJ quite like him.
  4:06pm Carmichael:

I'll miss the comics, as they were a great compliment to the music.
  4:13pm nun attax:

  4:29pm Bad Ronald:

...and Mr. MC Billy Jam the man who made it necessary!
  4:30pm Jeff from St.Paul:

Charmichael - I was just thinking the same thing. I know the front man for them was in some other band, but I can't think of the name. The band was in the movie "Class Act" (a kid n' play movie) they played at the very end of it.
  4:31pm Cage:

The illest 4 letter word!
  4:32pm nun attax:

Mr Jam

4:51pm ALF of Hip Hop Slam:

Cecile, I just found "Looking at the front door" on E-Bay.
  4:54pm Cecile:

They have a re-ish on Amazon, too.
I just have to get my act together and buy it. :D

Maybe after Xmas.
  5:13pm Todd 76%:

I wonder if anyone's ever documented the influence of CTI Records in the 70's (Bob James, Grover Washington, Hubert Laws, Freddy Hubbard, Don Sebesky et al) on hip hop and R&B. Samples and reworkings of tunes from that catalog are everywhere in 80's and 90's hip hop/R&B/D&B. Reviled by 'serious jazzheads' of the time, they mostly sound great now. Thanks for the brill jams as usual, Billy!!!
  5:17pm Paul:

Yo Bill gotta jet be in contact soon. Yo Alf thanks for the Quest link will check it out later. Have a good one. Peace, One Love
  5:17pm north guinea hills:

  5:21pm Joe:

Somebody put a mask on this dude! And get him really high all the tiiiiiiiiime
  5:21pm Timi Dz... Nutz:

Hey All...Great Show today.!.! but i gota go....
  5:25pm Todd 76%:

@ngh: bizzare and cool that he put out recordings on both ESP and CTI, innit?
  5:34pm Cecile:

I remember how CTI used to just get slagged as well as more r 'n' b laced works by Gato Barbieri. It put me off them, but later, not seeing them as pure jazz records but great funk and pop records, they stood up really well.
  5:45pm Cecile:

ah, Dilla
  5:46pm Ike:

Wow, what's Liz reading there?
  5:49pm Jessica:

It's like you're rt here, in my head. Coming back, just in time to disappear.
Another week, another surgical repair, but it's nice being here for now. But srsly: fuck the [Berkeley] PD
  5:52pm Ike:

Or to be more specific, what is "The Moment of Truth" and where does it come from?
