Options Brian Turner: Playlist from November 3, 2009 Options

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

  3:12pm Cecile:

Good afternoon, Brian!
  3:13pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

"Let us bow our heads and play"
  3:15pm BSI:

I could live in that loop, baby, forever.
  3:15pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

"I've become a Cheetoh"??
  3:16pm Cecile:

Ah, hypodermic needle.
I thought he was saying "I'll preserve it, Dino!"
  3:20pm BSI:

Cecile:
zinger of a song title, that.
  3:24pm north guinea hills:

I'm pretty sure the "hypodermic needle" sample came from Family Feud.
  3:25pm Owl:

Yo hey, there's cool version of that Fazendihna rap by a guest rap gal on Piracy Funds Terrorism. (Diplo and MIA) (i think...man that glorious Portuguese can sound similar, right? ;-) )
  3:29pm Cecile:

Lef-suh. that's the Swedish wrap bread.
  3:38pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

hmm...I like the Sabbath version better!
  3:47pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I thought I recognized the voice of Krauty...
  3:55pm Cecile:

IVY GREEN
  3:58pm Cecile:

I have a two disc retrospective, and their last record The Quest. But my copy of the Quest is warped...
  3:59pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

Brian, the Puffies were on your show last spring, I'm thinking April
  4:09pm Tom:

Pretty sure the Puffys were on in Jan.
  4:10pm dc pat:

this tune has an interesting depth to it provided by the piano that is missing from a lot of mayhem-oriented, free jazz. You gotta hand it to that de Dionyso
  4:12pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

Tom, your memory is better than mine...I checked my mp3 that I downloaded, and it was Jan. My head's been bashed too many times at Puffy shows....
  4:20pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

another CLE tie-in. Got any Emeralds?
  4:57pm fcunmys:

Have you gotten a hold of the Crasch Course in Science boxset yet? It's supposed to be the definitive compilation. But they've only pressed 600 copies?1?
  5:00pm Dogstar:

Same Happy Dragon Band record? http://mutant-sounds.blogspot.com/2008/01/happy-dragon-band-stlp1978usa.html
  5:03pm BT:

I havent gotten the CCiS box - but one of the guys was at WFMU Fest and said hello...hopefully he'll send us a copy for the station!
