Listener comments!

  12:13am
Snortley:

WOO HOO!
  12:15am
Laurie:

I was really sad that Generation Kill had a fifty percent chance of winning in one category and still didn't win. There were two nominees! And some piece of shit British period piece beat out Generation Kill. Why do the Emmy voting committee hate America?
  12:17am
Hatch:

Did Godrick win for Worst Vampire? Or the guy who plays Eggs for Worst Actor?
  12:18am
dan in falls church VA:

good schtuff, hatch!
  12:22am
Laurie:

SHUT YOUR MOUTH. I loved Chuck Bass, the littlest vampire. And I don't even care that his character was a pedo in the books (spoiler alert!) and that he and Eric had a traditional Roman pederasty relationship or whatever. And there will be ample opportunity for Godric flashbacks, as Alan Ball pointed out in a recent interview.

And True Blood actually did win an award. It was some online vote bullshittery called breakthrough performance? I don't know. And then Lubriderm congratulated Bill Compton on his victory. And then there was the worst commercial I've seen in recent history, involving aerialists in white body suits wearing the same rigging Pink wore at the VMAs, diving through layers that are supposed to represent epidermis layers, and it is ridiculous looking and as creepy as it sounds. Don Draper wouldn't stand for that crap.
  12:24am
Laurie:

Why did I just write an essay in the comment box? It's because I spent the entire day perfecting my last minute grad school application essays, right? I can't stop writing.
  12:25am
Joshua K:

The Wire never won an Emmy either. I have been watching True Blood and while entertaining its just a silly soap opera romance thing where people are constantly fighting about relationship issues, just in this case they are vampires and shapeshifters and mind readers.
  12:29am
Hatch:

Like all things True Blood, Godric is love/hate for me.
  12:30am
lil flip:

bounce, baby! bounce!
  12:31am
mike:

Hey pederasty!! Just read a review of two new books on pederasty in the NY Review of Books! Woo hoo!!!!
  12:34am
Hatch:

Do vampires even use Lubriderm?
  12:34am
Laurie:

I was checking my mail, and a gmail chat box popped up. The first words he typed were not, "Oh, hey, I'm directing a documentary for Vice on garage rock," as it should have been since we hadn't talked in a while, and that's pretty big news. No, it was, "Do you still hate True Blood?" And I was pretty confused, because I've loved the second season so much and just couldn't imagine ever hating it, but apparently I made fun of it during the first season. Kind of a lot. And I totally forgot.
  12:37am
lil flip:

We're bouncing! We are bouncing!
  12:37am
Laurie:

Hatch, to answer your question... Wasn't the Vampire Queen rubbing something into her legs? I don't know.

And wasn't Evan Rachel Wood awful? Overacting much? And I'm not saying that because she and Alexander Skarsgård are allegedly dating, and now she's given ASkars Manson herpes, and she's ruined him for me, and I'm jealous, but she's going to break the poor guy's heart by dumping him for someone lame like Criss Angel or Mystery, and I'll be there to comfort Alexander Skarsgård, and I'm totally delusional, yes?
  12:39am
Hatch:

She is truly awful but in all fairness there is more than enough overacting to go around on that show.
  12:42am
Laurie:

And enough awful accents to go around. Ryan Kwanten, an AUSTRALIAN, has the least embarrassing and most believable Southern accent.
  12:45am
Hatch:

That dude is Australian?!?! I had no idea. He and the dude who played Frank Sobotka on the Wire are definitely the highlights of the second season. I was very disappointed when they did not save the day.
  12:45am
dan in falls church VA:

i can't believe it -- it' a remix of a babe ruth song!

[Jellybean the mexican]
  12:46am
Hatch:

By the way Laurie, if you wanted to start using my playlist page to publish your True Blood fan fic, you are more than welcome.
  12:51am
Laurie:

Oh, Hatch, I don't write it. I do read it. I just put my face in my hands, and now my glasses are all smudged. I'm ashamed of myself.

Eric/Laffy is my OTP.

And I love Detective Andy so much. There's apparently going to be an awesome plot featuring Andy that's pulled from the books, which I haven't read, but I'm looking forward to more Andy. And I'm drinking a Diet Coke with Lime, as is my wont.
  12:57am
Joshua K:

I haven't finished season 2 of true blood yet. Still 3 or 4 eps left.

Oh look:

you rule bud! great tunes!
  1:09am
banachronimsia:

In six or seven years of radio djing myself, I've never had a single radio related dream. Is that unusual ?
  1:09am
Hatch:

Mist u 2 Trent. If only the C train had come 2 minutes earlier, or I had left my house 40 minutes earlier...
  1:09am
steveroo:

love this song!
  1:11am
Laurie:

Speaking of fanfiction, Eli Roth apparently discovered Basterds slash fanfic. And is sending the link to Quentin Tarantino. He doesn't seem fazed by it, he just thinks the stories aren't true to his character. He sees Donny, the Bear Jew, as more of a top.
  1:21am
Hatch:

You can write some of that stuff on my playlist page too if you want, but only if it's a regular weekly thing.
  1:27am
Joshua K:

Hatch... so did you miss the boat... literally.
  1:29am
Laurie:

I don't write that stuff either, but I have found Eli Roth incredibly sexy lately, AND I DON'T GET IT. I hate his torture porn movies, hate them. I think they're horrible. And then I live up to my old nickname Filthy Laurie and put Larry da Perv to shame by saying something incredibly awful on a dumb ONTD post. I was all, "L' shana tova, everybody." And then I followed it with pure filth. I'm a bad Jew.
  1:30am
Hatch:

Yes I quite literally missed the boat on which the rest of the FMU staff was sailing around and getting soused.
  1:31am
Hatch:

It should come as no surprise that I love everything Eli Roth has ever done, particularly Cabin Fever, Nation's Pride, and Thanksgiving.
  1:35am
coalhard:

obama is the best president we have ever had--could you guys in new jersey slip him some slack for once--please!!!
  1:36am
Laurie:

Quelle surprise, Hatch.
  1:38am
Laurie:

Oh, and Eli Roth is apparently aware of ONTD. He's very internet savvy, that one. I don't know how I feel about that. I just hope he doesn't read the creepy stan comments.
  1:41am
Hatch:

Couldn't agree with you more Mr. Coalhard.
  1:58am
sam:

these tunes are kickin my ass mannggggg lovin it! more more more.keep on hatchin themm turntables yo
  2:01am
bon mots:

I think it's Orlando Riva Sound?
  2:04am
Hatch:

You are correct sir!
  2:36am
jd:

can anyone tell me what was playing around 1:20?
  2:37am
Hatch:

Probably Wendy & Lisa... and right after that was the Plimsouls.
  2:47am
?:

it was colder - crazy love, actually... but that helped a lot, thanks.
