being a kid in 1969 in London and carrying my cheap Spanish guitar painted with white house paint and scribbled on... I walked up to the bandstand where the Edgar Broughton band were playing and I passed John Peel. He asked me if I could play it and I said yes. I still cant. But the memories of those smaller concerts are cherished in my mind, thanks for playing them. I am dreadin Neil Young all day in Hyde Park tomorrow. Ah well.
  3:32am
Pieter:

Good morning all
  3:56am
SueP:

Jamesie - That's an amazing story!!
  4:02am
jamesie:

The actual Broughton gig stage was tiny... not the makeshift one I sat on a year earlier, next to the Serpentine Lake... where I saw Syd, Tull, 3rd Ear band and 2 years on it would be 10 x larger with Mick mourning the loss of Brian. Yes, the stage was an actual bandstand - the PA was crammed on to fit and we all sat underneath - our necks craned upwards... oh - there gos another freak-out, carried away by S. Johns Ambulancemen -

nice hearing snack crack. Heard this played live last year at the boston music room. Is a great venue and a lot of good music played there if you ever go to London.
