texas scott:

  10:21pm
Liz B.:

I know most of the members of the Mayyors from my CA days. Their singer, John, was in a hardcore band called Corpse Fucks Corpse. Need I say more? Pure spastic energy!
  10:22pm
texas scott:

YOWHSAHHHH!!!
  10:26pm
j:

mayyors rule it!!! are people moshing?
  10:26pm
dave:

maybe it's just me, but every so often, the mayyors' singer seems to be channeling ian curtis.

and that's no bad thing.
  10:26pm
diabolik:

So, this happened a while ago now, but it deserves a comment:

Random lady who wants to know when the Mayyors are going to play: "Do you guys work here?"
Scott: "No, we're on the radio."
  10:28pm
texas scott:

yeah dave,i hear ian....eerie!
  10:29pm
Joe:

Did she pat him on the head and say "Aw, that's special?"
  10:29pm
texas scott:

ha!
  10:32pm
diabolik:

I wasn't fully paying attention, but I think she continued to ask about the time and place of the Mayyors' impending set - seemingly oblivous to, or perhaps incredulous, of the fact that she, too, was on the radio.

That's what I call freeform!
  10:34pm
texas scott:

she's just a little tipsy...
  10:35pm
Laurie:

We like to call the J. Mascis look "The White Wizard," or Gandalf.
  10:35pm
texas scott:

trent,fort worth in the house!
  10:37pm
jenn:

XYX WAS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!
  10:40pm
dave:

"when did you arrive here in austin?"
"that's kind of a boring question".

zing.
  10:42pm
Jøe Steele:

Just one reason why having drunk people (I assume) on the radio is awesome.
  10:43pm
Mark Allen:

To Brian, Scott, Liz, Trent, Ben and Daine: keep keepin' it UNSPEAKABLE in the most notorious state in the nation! KEEP PUSHING IT YOU FREAKS!!!

  10:49pm
Laurie:

That's not Colleen from Baton Rouge, is it?
  10:49pm
Joe:

What up Newton! My exgirlfriend's grandma used to live there. But now she's dead.
  10:49pm
texas scott:

Austin...taco capitol of south central tx.
  10:50pm
dave:

is there a region of texas that does not have a taco capitol?
  10:52pm
Laurie:

It is CoKane!
  10:53pm
texas scott:

zing.dave

and hit a taco stand
  10:58pm
texas scott:

could you imagine someone living in austin and listening to this over the net, instead of actually being there?
  11:00pm
Jøe Steele:

It's like me being 8 miles from Maxwell's and staying home and listening last weekend.
  11:01pm
texas scott:

that's it,joe
  11:04pm
texas scott:

texas scott:

  11:06pm
Joe:

How about "To play some bitchin' electric violin."

Maybe my OED is out of date.
  11:14pm
dave:

i'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that any dictionary using the term "bitchin'" is out of date by approximately 25 years.

that said, it DOES take a long time to print something the size of the OED, so maybe it just took 'em a while to get your edition out.
  11:24pm
Mike:

c'mon, i use "bitchin" all the time. it's almost as cool as "stoked" or "rad"
  11:25pm
Brian Turner:

celeb sightings - Kig Coffey, Rat Bastard, some dumbass Captain Morgans promotional pirate running around throwing shit at everyone in the Absu crowd
  11:27pm
Jøe Steele:

And yet the pirate is the only one I've heard of.
  11:29pm
Joe:

Please knock him out if he starts doing that stupid pose.

C'mon, Steele, you never heard of the Hugh Beaumont Experience? Oh yeah and he was in some other crazy acid band too. From Texas.
  11:31pm
Jøe Steele:

I've lead a sheltered PA/NJ life. : (
  11:32pm
rob:

The Renderers are a symphony of chaos. My radio is dripping blood.
  11:36pm
Jøe Steele:

This is exceedingly awesome.
  11:42pm
Joe:

woooooooow
  11:43pm
dave:

aaand, the renderers continue the evening's theme by channeling patti smith.

and what joe said.
  11:44pm
texas scott:

yowwsaahhhhh!
  11:46pm
dave:

that too.
  11:49pm

Froberg's got a rather familiar grain in his voice here... never heard him sing live before... I'd probably be a little too opimistic to hope for a Jehu tune...
  12:43am

  1:44am
Doctor B.:

WFMU goes to Texas. This harkens back to the golden age of FM rock radio, the early to mid-1970's, when stations would simulcast concerts pretty much verbatim and without the absurd amount of corporate sponsorship we see today!
  1:58am
Ken From Hyde Park:

How can music be this cool? This is great...awesome!
  4:06pm
Sally:

Having trouble listening to the Major Stars.
  8:20am
