Listener comments!

  10:57am
Sean Daily:

I just wanted to say that I am feeling much better - just a little bit weird -now that I am ouf the facility where the treatment I received was really good and, so far, effective. This is the first Playlist I have been on since getting released and doctors are hopeful that I will not have a relapse. As you know my issue was the obession, nay compulsion, to get on any comments board - eapecially at WFMU - and write the "W. H." words. So far I am staying strong. As Doctor Wright at the Institute said; one day at a time Sean and one playlist comment board at a time. Hey Billy can you play "Keep Ya Head Up" by 2Pac for me? thanks - And can you other regular commenters help me be strong and not be enablers. Lets all quit the redundant chlldlike "W.H." words together.

Lisa M:

Hey Billy Jam!1Hey hey everyone. Rough week, layoffs galore at my company. I survived, please pass me a blunt , I need it.

  3:21pm
north guinea hills:

2009 sounds a lot like 2005, and i like it!
  3:24pm
Ike:

Yikes, can't agree on H&LA. H&LA is only good on the tracks without that whiny twit Antony and his overrated squeaky wavery voice from hell. HATE.
  3:25pm
Cecile:

I need this Gui Boratto disc like right now
  3:26pm
sean808080:

finally a reason to turn my speakers up all day...it started with the hellfire preacher talk. great stuff.. http://sean808080.com
  3:27pm
Ike:

Oh and I liked that Whip track. I heard "Trash" by the Whip a lot last year on another station. Repetitive and strangely addictive.

Is Lady Sovereign going soft on us? Gotta love her accent.
  3:32pm
Lisa M.:

Thanks Ike, but that was directed at Billy:-)
  3:34pm
Ike:

Hey, free speech Lisa! I'm very opinionated and have to interject obnoxiously when anyone mentions anything to do with Antony. Hmmm, ihateantony.com is still available. Time to get out my credit card.
  3:36pm
LIsa M.:

Ok I see where this going, Billy keep playing the funky tunes.
  3:36pm
north guinea hills:

I actually like Scott Walker better then Antony, and that's saying something coming from me. I should like him, but i just don't get it........
  3:36pm
Lisa M.:

Haha! Thank you Billy, and you picked one of my favorites!!!
  3:36pm
Sean Daily:

Not even close to first... HEY! That first comment isn't my first comment! Although it does sound like something that would have happened to me... minus the electroshock therapy and my blazing space Amazon UFO-intensive escape...

Anyway... Woo hoo!
  3:37pm
Lisa M.:

wink wink Billy:-)
  3:39pm
Ike:

On the other hand, maybe I'll give that $6.74 to FMU instead. Along with almost everything else in my wallet. Save your pennies folks! FMU 'thons are great.

That first comment is pretty awesome. Is the Billy Jam comments section open 24/7 for our convenience or what?
  3:40pm
Lisa M:

Thank you Mr. Jam!!
  3:41pm
Cecile:

  4:03pm
annie:

for this i turned up the volume... aaahhhh
  4:04pm
Parq:

Didn't some pre-teen hearthrob have an extremely minor hit with "Rock On" in the 90s? I vaguely remember my daughter watching a video, which had some half-decent dancing.
  4:05pm
Cecile:

Yes, Michael Damian, and I believe it was the late 80s or early 90s. He was on General Hospital or something.
  4:15pm
zedprophfer:

great remix!
  4:27pm
Tall Paul:

Yo Bill, how is the form? Hope all is good with you. Wishing you a great weekend. Can you play some Lunatik or Lucky Dube? Thanks peace one love Paul

  4:43pm

Rawk.
  4:49pm
B-Z:

Rawk and the Bay Area make me think of listening to the Lobster Breakfast.
  4:50pm
Ismael:

  4:50pm
postmanpaul:

Cecile:

  4:58pm
Joe:

Hip-Hop Dragon Ball Z reference... where's Sean Daily? He should be on top of this.
  5:00pm
Cecile:

Brother Ali used to ride my bus sometimes in Mpls. Ya couldn't miss him. Glad he's doing well.
  5:04pm
Sean Daily:

Are you challenging me to a duel, Joe! Because you may be the stronger fighter but it is not the strength of the fighter that determines who will win a duel but the size of his heart and since you are evil and I am good and good always triumphs over evil then, ergo, I shall defeat you!

KAMEHAMEHA WAAAAAAAAVE!
  5:12pm
Joe:

Oh no, now I have to lay on the ground moaning in pain for 3 episodes.
  5:12pm
billlyjam:

Hi all......this show is dedicated to two great WFMU peeps. Ike who is perhaps one of the most dedicated and supportive listeners of the station and who also volunteers here from time to time including during the Marathon + also to another volunteer Chad who does more shit behind the scenes than five average FMUers
  5:13pm
Parq:

Yay Chadsworth! Your fans are delighted to see you celebrated.
  5:16pm
Cecile:

SAINTS - is this from the '74 sessions?
  5:16pm
Sean Daily:

Now I shall destroy the core of the planet with my imagination-throttling Super Saiyen powers so that it will explode in less than five minutes... which is funny, because we're going to be talking about it for the next five or six episodes!

Urk... having another flashback...
  5:18pm
Cecile:

It is!!!!!
That is such a great, underrated disc.
  5:18pm
chadsey:

billlyjam:

Thanks to everyone for listening to this show and to WFMU in general. As you well know our big annual two-week fundraising Marathon kicks off on Monday March 2nd and this year we really need major love. WFMU is unlike any other radio station out there and that is because it operates independently based on listener donations - 100% Most freeform college radio stations are partly listener sponsored but also governed by their universities who - depending on if it is a Jesuit run college or a UC system school - have certain demands on said station. Such demands or rules result in controlling outside forces - things like broadcasting every school team's women's basketball game or worse.....This type of bullshit don't happen @ WFMU. So let's all try and keep it this way by remembering to support during the 2009 Marathon. >>>>Special shout out to IKE and to CHAD - both dedicated WFMU listeners and volunteers - to whom this show is dedicated.....Also shout out to Timi D... who died or fell off the earth or sumthin' Also shout out to DJ Spiderman, Sahak, and Stingy D - all former listeners/commentors who disappeared in recent times - Ye'all are missed.....>>>Also shout out to Evan Funk Davies whose Tuesday night show (11PM - 2AM following Tom Scharpling) is must-hear material. From listening to it this week I ended up on a Nick Gilder/Hot Child In The City thread leading me to "Dick The Bard" (the name I christened him with) who I sampled and replayed. By the way to hear a string of Nick Gilder songs check out the opening set of an EVAN FUNK DAVIES show from two years ago. Link = EFD show http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/24152 >>>The photo at top of Playlist was taken out in the BayView/Hunters Point district of San Francisco a couple of weeks or so ago. It is down by the Hunters Point Shipyard - formerly run by the US Army or Navy but turned over to artists to live in its lovely old buildings - although the time is ticking on their remaining there as they are all being kicked out - bummer. Over by one of these spaces (where some friiends of mine are based) there are old pianos left outside to become beautifully weather beaten. Some, despite the wear and tear of several winters by the water, are still semi-functional. The one in picture is not but isn't it a beauty? - >>>>>>March 27th this show will return to Ireland for a second live remote broadcast.....It will be LIVE IN LIMERICK...go to the "Upcoming" section of this website to find details......PEACE - billy "where da weed at" jam
