Listener comments!

  9:02am annie:

not--sean:first comment
  9:08am Parq:

Useless informational tidbit of the day: google-imaging "Flipper" yields only two pictures of the band in the first three pages. Turns out it's some dolphin -- who knew?
  9:08am risky!:

  9:09am Raf:

Morning, Jason!
  9:09am Lizardner Dave:

Chartered Trips! Nice! Is this 'cause Mould lives in DC now and there's some big hullaballoo going on there today?
  9:11am Parq:

Mould should run for office, like his fellow show-biz Minnesot'n.
  9:14am Jason:

Mornin everyone, thanks for being here on this historic day. Parq I agree re: Bob Mould. I coulda played "Turn On The News" maybe
  9:20am Lizardner Dave:

Isn't "Turn On The News" a Grant Hart song though?
  9:22am Parq:

There ya go, Dave. We've found Sen. Mould's chief of staff.
  9:23am annie:

i've been giggling over this all morning..

  9:28am fishmonkeystew:

Good morning all! Ready for all the hoopla today?
  9:29am Hatch:

Happy inauguration day, everybody!
  9:32am Lizardner Dave:

I'm looking out the window and it doesn't look like what was supposed to happen is happening. I was expecting it to rain puppies and the Dow was supposed to hit 20,000 today. What gives?
  9:33am risky!:

  9:34am Parq:

And to you, Hatch; you have every right to be proud of yourself this morning. Great show yesterday.

Annie, a concurring post:

  9:47am annie:

my internet connection detects awful things. stopping me from seeking bad websites like the onion... msut...keep... trying...
  9:54am risky!:

  9:58am GP:

Morning all..does anyone listening here use that Foobar 2000 stream player?
Question: What stream do I choose to get it to work? I'm USUALLY pretty savvy at this but I can't get that thing to work for nothin.
  9:59am annie:

GP- i downloaded it and have yet to experiment...
  10:04am fishmonkeystew:

Killer set this AM, Jason.

GP, give VLC a try. It's simple, free and seldom has issues. You can even tie it into Firefox. I use it to listen to mp3stream.wfmu.org.
  10:07am GP:

I can't see the Onion, You Tube, Facebook, MY Space, The FMU blog...just about everything good...either. They have it all blocked at our office.
Those Onion headlines from the other day were pretty funny and I wanted to check out some of the stories..but alas..could not.

Thanks FishMS, I will try out...stuck with Windows Media Player right now
  10:07am Carmichael:

Happy days, all. Good morning, Jason.

The Dow is currently at 600,000, my bank account added 4 zeros, and I'm taller.
  10:09am GP:

Everyone got a pet unicorn here today!
  10:09am annie:

all my browsers are disabled for some reason and apparently have no window connection to internet... very odd..
  10:10am GP:

Hmmm, 4 zeros...WHO HOO, I now have a thousand bucks!
  10:11am GP:

Had to get their from my negative balance first.
  10:12am GP:

their = there..ok I'll stop now.
  10:14am annie:

very odd, the fmu webpage is the only window working.. GP-you're in FB? may i friend you?
  10:15am Jason:

This song "Orphaned" is one of my favorites, so psyched he played this!
  10:16am stoopid question:

any music elitists out there know a song thats spoken word, lyrics include "what does he DO in there?", amongst strange noises. heard it on WFMU one time
  10:16am ironing:

I appreciate the photo. Nice set-up.

All sounding great this morning!
  10:16am GP:

No Annie, not yet,..probably soon...I'll let you know. I have not signed up cause I can't get it at the office and after being on the screen all day sometimes the last thing I want to do at home is sit down in front of another computer.

This Max Tundra stuff sounds pretty cool so far.
  10:17am annie:

tom waits stoopid....
  10:18am GP:

Annie that was fast!
  10:19am Raf:

"What's He Building?"
  10:21am stoopid:

yea thats it. thats the one. Yea that was really fast. amazing annie, Thx!
  10:21am Tom Waits:

"Now what's that sound from under the door?
He's pounding nails into a
Hardwood floor... and I
Swear to god I heard someone
Moaning low... and I keep
Seeing the blue light of a
T.V. show..."
  10:21am annie:

i like the one about the dog and tom.. forget the title.
  10:22am annie:

"he never did like that dog"
  10:24am Bad Ronald:

"Frank's Wild Years"
  10:27am annie:

just found it...
  10:32am Bad Ronald:

I like "Step Right Up"
  10:56am Rick:

Subway trains are being turned away from a station near the Mall b/c someone got hit by a train and is on the tracks between the tracks and the train. They're alive, though/
  10:57am GP:

Cool shirt:
  11:02am Megan:

Hey Jason + everyone! Caloo Caleigh!!! Happy Inauguration Day!
  11:07am Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  11:28am Ike:

A woman fell onto the subway tracks but did *not* get hit by a train, according to the Washington Post.

That was great Nigerian funk! Yeah!
  11:30am Raf:

Ha. THAT Adam!
  11:31am Lysimachos:

Its in Greek indeed. Can't recognize it at all though...
  11:31am Jason:

Ike, it is a great day! Yes Raf!
  11:34am Jonathan Marx:

This might be my all-time favorite song from all of the Ethiopiques compilations. Anyone have any idea what "Hasabe" means in Amharic?
  11:37am Doug from DC:

I'm wimping out and watching the inauguration from home. According to DCist, it's taking 30 minutes just to get out of a Metro station.
  11:39am Jason:

Doug I support your decision. TV, computer, radio and other at-home media > subways, freezing temperatures, crowds
  11:40am GP:

DC Doug don't blame you...stay warm
  11:41am annie:

finally back on-line crickey!!! g-damn firewall reset itself!!! hey doug it's just like the 4th of july, cramped metro....
  11:45am Doug from DC:

It's quite a bit more than July 4th, Annie. I always go downtown for the fireworks.
  11:46am annie:

just talking to my kid, he is correcting me, too. i feel corrected...
  11:47am GP:

Off to watch the inauguration..office has set up a television for us..
  11:51am Ike:

GP, I didn't see your message about Foobar until now. In Foobar, click File then Add Location (or just CTRL+U) then type in http://aacplus.wfmu.org or http://mp3stream.wfmu.org and that's it!

It's pretty basic and the user interface isn't really friendly, but it usually operates on locked-down work computers.
  11:53am annie:

great tune jason!!! wow...
  11:54am Doug from DC:

Arethra's on!
  11:54am annie:

at the end of the day at johnson's in kensington we would play this LOUD!!!
  11:56am Raf:

Alright, I'm signing out, Jason. Great show! I especially enjoyed Max Tundra and Adam.
11:58am jamesie and all at resonancefm:

Hello put your headphones on Max... love from all of us from Resonance 104.4 fm
  8:39am dam-yo:
