Dan:

wHaT's uP
  9:50am
youngun:

my apologies for perhaps a dullard of a question. I am brand new to this station- is the last song played listed at the top or the bottom? I was struck by the last song (genre: ska singer: female). Is it fleet foxes or band of mercy...?
  9:53am
bw:

new songs are at the bottom

fleet foxes wish they sounded like that!
there were 2 man and woman songs
suffering stink was the one from the Trojan revive box set
and the topless was the amazing rolls royce and the wheels
  10:01am
Dan:

Yeah I don't get Fleet Foxes.
  10:01am
jeanine:

great show bw.. I've been on a road trip vacation for two weeks and as it turns out, satellite radio blows and they play the same songs over and over again, who would have thought? It's bad to be back at work, but good to be listening to WFMU again!
  10:05am
Neil:

This has to be the only song with both the phrases "mosh pit" and "what not."
  10:08am
melty:

i'm finding it hard to stay away from the comic long enough that it actually reads like a comic..adorably disheartening
  10:12am
spaniel:

the safety pin stuck in my heart song is cool. i really like the guitar on the Patrick Fitzgerald version.
  10:14am
welty:

i have a clutchy hopkins stuck in my heart
  10:18am
north guinea hills:

i get to work before 9, but i can't plug into wfmu until at least until an after i get here
  10:21am
Cass:

you have a great selection fire warden. i'm enjoying!
  10:24am
spaniel:

i wonder how much the distraction caused by your playlist is costing our economy. Can I send fmu a bill for my lost productivity?
  10:26am
C:

At first I liked Pecan Sandy. Now she's starting to piss me off.
  10:34am
ange:

fire!!
  10:34am
Bad Ronald:

Agreed but I think she's a he...
  10:42am
C:

Oh, it's a he? I'm pretty sure Bronson would have a problem with him too.
  10:43am
bw:

bronson would def waste sandy
  10:48am
GW:

Sandy reminds me of a passive aggressive Spongebob, maybe just cause he is yellow...regardless that is one messed up cookie.
  10:50am
jeanine:

is it weird that sandy reminds me of an ex-boyfriend?
  10:52am
Bad Ronald:

Guilty - Hang him high!
  10:59am
north guinea hills:

this edith frost track is seriously depressing...
  11:00am
N'Lo:

jeanine - sandy reminds me of my CURRENT boyfriend. WOE is he! Benjamin - brilliant use of yr playlist piccies! thoroughly enjoying!
  11:02am
youngun:

pecan sandy- at this point- is the criminal dandy - Jean Genet style- naughty, dangerous, fey. Not so much a little heterosexual tool for pecan empire. you know, revolutionary laziness.
  11:02am
GW:

That JJ Johanson track was TOTALLY appropriate for that particular Sandy panel..great choice.
  11:02am
Cass:

DIE Peacan Sandy DIE
  11:03am
jeanine:

N'Lo.. dump him! The whining will only increase, and when he burns down your house he'll blame the matches!
  11:08am
Ike:

N'Lo, if he's really that bad, then ummmmm, you should go out with me instead. Yeah, that's the ticket. Wait, are you male or female?
  11:12am
bob:

that is one angry green cookie with wings.
  11:12am
N'Lo:

I'm a cookie! We have no gender! (well, except for the Petit Ecolier, and maybe Lorna Doone)
  11:13am
mmerck:

austin present...math is hard
  11:13am
Ike:

Yummy.
  11:26am
sugarwolf:

chapi chapo!!! I watched them all the time as a kid.
  11:29am
harehunterfield:

thanks pal, this all sounds oddly familiar. Isn't there someone in Boston that plays this stuff???
  11:30am
dei xhrist:

hah! I thought I recognized Bertozzi's style - he used to do the Incredible Drinking Buddies. Sure is a small planet, but then you don't do good work unless you spend years scrawling away at it. That's my excuse for obscurity.
  11:30am
GW:

What is going on in that last Panel..Why is Chocko-CHip in his thighty whities, and where is Mr. Peep?...wait, I thought THIS was Mr. Peep..that is even stranger...WTF!!
  11:32am
R. P.:

So, there is a moral to this story.
  11:32am
north guinea hills:

i feel like mr. peep....
  11:32am
FlakeyFoont:

whoa I was one of Bertozzi's students this past winter and he's the one who showed me WFMU and that's why I'm listening today! how appropriate. very nice playlist, by the way.
  11:36am
BlitOnThe Stylus:

Good God, "Pecan Sandy" is as American as a drive-by shooting. As are the reactions.

Pecan is the type America cannot tolerate - sort of inoffensive and reclusive, not passive aggressive at all, but simply passive. Absent-minded, too, and a little flummoxed by the practical world. Definitely the type that is useless in Corporate America and a good candidate for elimination.

After all, the U S of A the greatest f'in country on the face of the earth!! Real hard chargers! Step aside buddy!!

Oh, the the rest of the world is starting to barf a bit, I mean with the waterboarding and the 650,000 Iraqis killed, and the world-leading incarceration rate, and the homeless, and the gangs, and probably 1/3 the population without adequate health care, and a huge movement that wants to teach creationism in the schools, but what the hell....enjoy, folks!!!
  11:42am
bw:

thats quite an analysis! thanks for that
  11:42am
molerat:

This Lena Beamish is wonderfully creepy.
  11:46am
Chairman Mu:

No, you have it wrong. Pecan Sandy represents American culture, with it's greed and denial of responsibility. When the rest of the world consumes this culture, it finds it's own destruction.
  11:48am
lint:

veddy intyrestink
  11:52am
kpc:

What aspects of Pecan's behavior represent American culture, other than saying "I'm widdle & cute"?
  11:55am
dei x:

Pecan represents only those who do not successfully overcompensate for their failings. And roommates.
  11:57am
Gregory @ Toronto:

pecan sandy is Canadian, isn't he?
  1:10pm
sebastian in santiago:

pecan sandy is a transcultural arsehole.
  10:30am
Adrian in London:

Hey, pop-up player only lasts for an hour of this show! It cuts off in the middle of the Bronson track. Pecan Sandy seemed too troubled by ennui to live, frankly.
