I run everything analog: an old-fashioned SM58 Mic, with a Pop Filter on it, plugged into a mixer via a 1/4" cable. All my other gear - CD Players, mics, instruments, turntables, etc - also run into the same Mixer, via analog connections. That mixer runs into a PreSonus device, and I run a line from there into my computer, into BUTT.

It's pretty old-fashioned. But I've had very bad luck with USB mics.
