Couldn’t sleep last night though. Woke 2 hrs after falling asleep to crazy dream and pounding heart. My boy and I were walking past an old timers softball game at a park. Boy was on field( all the way in the outfield). Some guy ran up and pushed him down violently in anger. I ran up and hit the guy, got arrested and mouthed off to the guy and judge in court. That was around midnight. Racing mind, tossing and turning ensued. TMI. Sorry.

Just the first verse here:
My money melts like sugar in the shower when I don't sing
Like a broken mockingbird that's put in pawn and traded in for diamond jewelry
That shines but only briefly like the golden heart of fall
Where the afternoons went quickly and your breath floats in the final beams of evening
But I don't need dollars, pounds, or pesos to know I am rich
I got people who allow themselves to love me and are insane enough to be loved
And it's funny to think how much time we quietly spend apart
You don't need to be a witness to have with-ness and I'm with you now, that's certain.
Beautifully poetic

Back when I wrote lyrics for & with a musician friend of mine we coined a phrase "pop with brains." That's what I hear here.
I love words & wordplay.
Our thing was I'd write pages of stuff, stream of conciousness then hand them over to him for editing because after all...he had to sing them. He once called me his Bernie Taupin. We haven't spoken in years.

I actually applied there for a live sound gig when I got back from AZ in 99. I don't recall the name. I chose to work for Nevessa production instead.
Jim worked the shows for about 10 years but got out for his health. Lots of drugs in that world as in all of entertainment. He got in deep, managed to get out & clean his life up last I spoke with him which was many years ago.

If say 1,000,000 people boycott a corporate entity say an oil co, there's still millions that will carry on buying their product.
So they don't really care & eventually the 1,000,000 give up because they in fact need the product.
When the american economy wasn't so condensed into the few companies that control the market as it is today, it's really tough to make a stand.
Big corps. tentacles reach into everything so even boycotting the main offender, you still often wind up supporting them without knowing it.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Trust bought 1.7 million shares in Bud Light beer’s parent company, AB InBev, despite slumping sales and sinking stock. The bet hasn’t paid off yet—quite the opposite, in fact, as AB InBev has yet to get its buzz back.
Note: profits from the foundation’s investments stay with the foundation, not with the Gateses personally.

In '93 I was dating a woman who lived in Upstate NY.
We used to send cards & letters back and forth.
It was really fun & very romantic.
I'd wait for the mail daily.
Now..nope
This section from an old Dan Fogelberg song. "To the Morning" says it all about those times for me:
Waiting for mail
Maybe a tale
From an old friend
Or even a lover
Sometimes there's none
But we have fun
Thinking of all who might
Have written
And maybe there are seasons
And maybe they change
And maybe true love is not so strange
