	♥ 6:48pm JimB: Hello Saltzshaker - Have you ever visited Lord Stirling Park in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge? Relatively closeby in Basking Ridge. Near the source of the Passaic River, which runs through it, about a 90-minute walk-around, and one of the prettier spots in NJ.

	♥ 7:45pm JimB: Saltzshaker, if you manage to get over there, by all means start at the canoe launch site, which is the prettiest spot. There's a small unmarked trail just to the left that parallels the river and connects with the marked trails in about a quarter mile. If you keep bearing right on the marked trails you will traverse the perimeter of the park, which has the best scenery. The interior is mostly trees. Be forewarned, it gets buggy in spots.
	♥ 7:47pm Tom P: ↳ northguineahills @7:32 When walking in tick country I recommend wearing light colored clothing, avoiding low vegetation, tucking your pants into your socks, and spraying with a repellent. DEET is the most effective but it's not good for you. Picaridin is almost as effective, not nearly as harmful. It costs about 3x as much as DEET but worth it IMO

	♥ 7:45pm JimB: Saltzshaker, if you manage to get over there, by all means start at the canoe launch site, which is the prettiest spot. There's a small unmarked trail just to the left that parallels the river and connects with the marked trails in about a quarter mile. If you keep bearing right on the marked trails you will traverse the perimeter of the park, which has the best scenery. The interior is mostly trees. Be forewarned, it gets buggy in spots.

DEET is the most effective but it's not good for you. Picaridin is almost as effective, not nearly as harmful. It costs about 3x as much as DEET but worth it IMO
