I met Lightfoot last year at the sad occasion of Dallas Good's wake. I spoke to him briefly, seemed like a very nice guy. I brought up this version of "Tom Thumb's Blues" and he told me his favorite version was by his countryman Neil Young.

I'm not heavy into Lightfoot, but of the songs I know I have always admired the juxtaposition of light and dark, like the intense longing paired with violence in "Sundown" or the upbeat whistle in "Ribbon of Darkness"
